Dear Sädharmik Members, Jai Jinendra and Pranäm It’s been an amazing journey last few years at JSMC. Our community is growing and with that JSMC is continuing to uphold its reputation as a one-of-a-kind Jain organization worldwide. We are very proud to share the news that we have now crossed the 2000 mark for Lifetime JSMC Member families. As of now, we have 2004 registered lifetime families as part of our community. Congratulations to all! In your family, if you have unmarried children over age of 25 that are still part of your membership profile, they must become a lifetime member on their own for just $401 (onetime). Similarly, if you have seniors over age of 60 in your family and still part of your membership, they must become a lifetime senior member on their own for just $251 (onetime). As announced earlier, very soon we will be introducing Barcoded Membership ID that will be used to strictly validate lifetime membership status for privileges given to lifetime members of JSMC. JSMC Medical Clinic is almost ready to be launched very soon. We are going through details with Athena.org with their offerings for Non-Profit Free Clinic initiatives. We are attempting to establish a solid foundation to support the long term vision of JSMC Clinic. JSMC appreciates the doctors and medical support staff for their dedication and free services to make this dream a reality. Our planned launch date is 1st Sunday of Aug – Aug 4th, 2019 – Stay tuned for details! Based on advice from the Advisory Council, we are on track to launch JSMC Food Court Phase One starting September 2019. Until then, we have started complimentary Tea during weekends – please stop by and enjoy Hot Tea/Coffee during weekends! As part of this initiative we are going to hire a part-time Food Court Operator. Initially we plan to sell dry packaged snacks and will slowly move towards warm freshly prepared quality meals. We request your cooperation! Our goal is to serve pure Jain fresh meals to our Community members at a reasonable cost. We are going through the steps required to establish a self-sustaining non-profit organization to support and facilitate all of JSMC’s community service activities – we will keep you posted with the progress! This year for Anniversary celebration, we have invited Shri Niravbhai Sanghavi to grace our Sangh as main Aaradhak to conduct Shree Siddhachakra Maha Poojan, Dhwaja Ceremony and 18 Abhishek Poojan. We are very happy that Shri Dipakbhai Shah (Bardoliwala) has accepted our invitation to bless our celebration with his discourses. We are blessed to have presence of Shri Dr. Sanjeevji Godha on Friday of the Anniversary weekend. We are also welcoming visiting dignitary Shri Paragbhai Shah, a disciple of Gurudev Shri Namramuniji. Another exciting news is that we are inaugurating Shree Siddhachkara Deri during this anniversary celebration. Please make sure you attend all the festivities starting Friday, June 28th evening to Sunday, June 30th evening. As you all know, this year is JAINA Convention year and the Convention is in Los Angeles hosted by Jain Society of Southern California (JCSC). We are so proud that JSMC has the highest registration for this convention after the host Sangh. Let’s make a very positive impact in the larger community during this convention. There are many activities JSMC is participating in – Jain Academy Bowl (JAB), Jains Got Talent (JGT), Cultural Program, JAINA Awards, etc. For those who are attending the convention, we will see you there! Look out for JSMC signs in Dining area – that would be our meeting point! As informed earlier, we are working towards the decorative Dome & Ceiling for the Upäshray, while we resolve the water leakage issues in the Main Derasar. The Upashray ceiling requires independent UL (Underwriter’s Lab) testing that is expected to take another 4-6 months. We have also finalized the location of the Children’s Playground and are currently in the design process. Installation is expected in this calendar year. Our increasing membership is also requiring us to add a second kitchen near the back entrance of the kitchen. This project will start soon. And finally, we have received bids for reducing the slope of the street coming in to our facility from Rt. 59. As indicated earlier, reducing the slope is critical to the safety of our members coming in during inclement weather. Our Scholarship & Loan Program is now in its 3rd year and applications are currently being reviewed. We have also been receiving interest from additional donors that will enable us to continue and extend the program. Later this November, JSMC will also be conducting its biennial elections for the entire Executive Committee and 4 members of the Board of Trustees. More details to follow in the coming months. Shri Dipakbhai Shah (Bardoliwala) has been closely connected with many Jain Sadhu Bhagwant for in depth studies in Jainism. He has been helping many Sadharmik around the world to learn and understand Jain Tatva Gyan via Shibir, Prabhu Bhakti and other religious events. He is well known for his Shasan seva by way of anchoring many religious events including Shibir, Tap Samvedna, Saiyam Anumodana and Shripal Mayna No Raas.

Dr. Sanjeevji Godha is a well versed Jain scholar, a professor at Todermal Jain University, Jaipur and Mumbai University. With M Phil and Ph. D in Jain Studies he has studied many Jain scriptures and written many books. He is a well-travelled scholar who has spread the words of Jainism at various places in India, UK and United States.

Shri Paragbhai Shah has an amazing combination of being a Philanthropist, Author, Politician and a very Successful businessman. His Spiritual journey started in 2003 when he met Pujya Gurudev Shree Namramuni M.S. Taste of Kindness - Presentation on Veganism - Coordinated by Young Jains of America (YJA)

Saturday, June 29th at 3:30 to 5pm The YJA along with Taste of Kindness will host guest speakers for a presentation designed for kids - parents are also welcome - on veganism and how it ties into world hunger, climate change, deforestation, animals, and our health.

Law Professor Gary Francione of Rutgers has worked with Chitrabhanu Marasaheb & with JAINA in New Jersey. He is a 30+ year advocate of animals rights and author of several successful books. He will be covering ethics in the presentation. Stefanie Ignoffo is a plant interventionist and Food For Life Instructor with the Physicians Committee For Responsible Medicine. She advocates and promotes Lifestyle Medicine by educating, motivating, and inspiring people to adopt a plant-based lifestyle in order to prevent and reverse health issues including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, certain cancers, autoimmune disorders, obesity and chronic illnesses. She is also the founder of plantspiration.com. Lucy Milling is an animal rights advocate with a passion for birds. She works with Chicago Pidgeon Rescue. Over the past year, she has helped rescue, foster, and place dozens of pigeons and chickens in need of help. She is in the process of becoming a certified veterinary technician so she can help even more animals. She hopes that one day, all beings will be given respect and freedom. She will be covering the environmental impacts.

JSMC Mela is scheduled for Saturday July 20, 2019. Like every year we will be having Vendor Stalls, Food Stalls, Games and a rejuvenated JSMC Got Talent show. Upashraya Dome (Chawki)

Contributing to build a Jinālay is one of the elegant ways to acquire punyānubandhi punya. In our lifetime, we may

not have the opportunity to build a new derāsar, but even partially contributing to the cause is a significant

opportunity. Last year, we launched the project to replace the ceiling of our main derāsar, Upāshray and Shrimad

Mandir. Now we are sanctioning the project for Upāshray Dome. The Upāshray ceiling will be graced by 4 ornate

domes (chawki) as shown here.

JSMC Scholarship and Student Loan Program The program objective is to support & encourage students of JSMC Life Members towards their college education. The program is managed by a standalone subcommittee with the support from JSMC Board of Trustees. The program has very well defined guidelines and policies.

Sponsorship Opportunities JSMC & subcommittee's goal is to make the program sustainable for many years to come. Mahavir Janma Kalyanak 2019

Being the first major event of the year, Mahavir Janma Kalyanak brings out the best in all of us and this year was no exception. Under nishra of Pandit Shri Champakbhai Mehta we had close to 90 tapasvis who observed the Ayambil Oli Tap. This was equally complemented by a fantastic aaradhana of Navpad Poojan led by Vidhikar Shri Hiteshbhai to do anumodna of all the Varsitap Tapasvis of 25th Anniversary.

This year we witnessed a spirited and entertaining cultural event with 14 performances from about 250 performers in the age group of 3 to 40 yrs. It was amazing to see the energy flow right from little kids to seniors. The show proved that there is no age bad to celebrate such an important occasion of Bhagwan Mahavir's Birth Kalyanak.

The 20th declamation contest saw participants entice the audience with their thoughts on various topic. We had participants from all age group

and it was heartening to see them share their thoughts on various topics of Jainism. Though every speech at the Declamation Contest was very good but some of the exceptionally well prepared and delivered speeches that received awards in various age group and their topics are listed here. JSMC Health Fair 2019

This year the annual Health Fair was organized on May 5 and May 19. With record-breaking registration

of over 300 participants and SEVA from 30+ volunteers, 15 phlebotomists, 5 EKG techs and other Health Care professionals.

Once again, the Health Fair was a grand success!!! Following services were provided to our members at no cost: a complete

blood work, EKG, Carotid screening, Bone Density checkups, Eye Exams, Dental checkup, Hearing checkup and detailed

consultation with primary care physicians and various other specialists. Over 35 doctors and specialists including PCP,

Cardiologist, Oncologists, Radiologist, Gynecologist, Dentists, Audiologist, Ophthalmologist, Nurse practitioner,Physical

Therapist, Pharmacist and Dietician provided their SEVA to our members. JSMC appreciates the donations received from

many members of the community and all volunteers who helped to make this community service event successful.

JSMC has been very fortunate to have presence and blessings from many prominent Dignitaries/Scholars from all over the world during year round religious events. In addition, we have many opportunities for Gnän Upärjan through discourses, Shibir, and lecture series delivered through visiting scholars, dignitaries, and Sädhaks. Announcements Quarterly Pooja Participation

JSMC is pleased to announce an opportunity for members to take Laabh of Daily Pooja of our Tirthankars on Quarterly basis. For the daily pooja Fixed Quarterly Nakro is $251 per Pooja. Name of the sponsors will be published on our notice board. Daily Pooja is performed by Pujari but members are welcomed to join them in morning during the Pooja time. Health fair and medical Services

Every year during May month JSMC organizes annual Health and medical fair to serve our Jain community members with free of charge health checkup and counselling by medical professionals. For more details, please contact JSMC Admin office or visit JSMC website @ www.jsmconline.org Pathshala

JSMC Pathshala is one of the largest Päthshalas outside of India. A staff of more than 40 dedicated teachers and many volunteers help educate people of all ages in Jain Religious Education at JSMC and also prepare our youth for various socio-cultural activities. Student Scholarship and Education Loan

JSMC is very pleased to have College Scholarship and Loan Program for students’ college education. This needs-based program has been established to assist and encourage our students in furthering their college education.

Obituary Announcement Service

JSMC provide this service to its members upon the death of member or its immediate family member (defined as spouse, children and parents) whose death occurs in USA. A personalized announcement with photograph of deceased is sent to entire membership in an email announcement. JSMC also provides facility for Prayer Service.

JSMC offers beautiful auditorium with state of the art

Stage with professional lights system, sound system,

and curtain.

This multipurpose hall can accommodate 1,500

people in theater style seating and 800 people in

banquet style seating.

Kitchen is fully equipped to make meals for 2,000

people. New Dining Hall with expanded space can

comfortably accommodate 1,200 people at a time.

This community center can be rented for private

functions such as weddings, musical evenings,

dramas, cultural programs, conventions, etc.
