Bulletin of the november 11th 2015 meeting held at the RCMP Montreal combined Mess

Line welcomed all participants..

1. Deaths and a moment of silence:

➢ On 29 October 2015, Roland Soucy, Reg.# 15172 died at the Loretteville Retirement Home, He was 85. Funeral services

were held 5 November, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Saint-Ambroise-de-la-Jeune-Lorette Church in Quebec;

➢ On 30 October 2015, Pierre Norbert, Reg.#20859 died at the Manoir Sainte-Julie at the age of 78, and visitation was held on Thursday 5 November 2015 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Curé-Poirier funeral home;

➢ On 17 October 2015, Mrs. Andrée Desaulniers (née Denis), wife of fellow veteran Marcel Desaulniers, died at the age

of 74 after a long illness. The funeral was held 23 October in Brossard;

➢ On 12 October 2015, Mrs. Nicole St-Pierre, wife of fellow veteran Antoine Deschênes, died after a long illness. The

funeral was held 17 October in Louiseville;

➢ On 8 October 2015, Jean Larivière died in Dollard-des-Ormeaux and his funeral was held 15 October 2015 in Dollard-

des-Ormeaux.

2. Announcements:

➢ The pension indexation for 1 January 2016 has been set at 1,3%.

3. Social Committee:

➢ Father Pops draw: 200,00$ was collected for the Father Pops 50/50 draw and Guy Vincent was the winner taking home

half the sum;

➢ Outings:

� Céline advised us that the next meeting would be held at the Lux on Sherbrooke Street as in past years;

� The list of outings proposed by Céline for 2015 can be found in Annex 1.

4. Finances:

➢ Please pay your membership fee for 2015 which is $55,00.

5. Notices:

➢ Are you registered on the new web site? If not, go the the web site http://grc-rcmp-vets.qc.ca/ and click on the s’enregistrer link. Enter

your name, Regimental number and the password of your choice. Please do not forget to “Disconnect” when you have completed any

searches on the site;

➢ We are still looking for a Communications Director as Jean Martin has too much work to take care of this task. Any members who wish to take over the communication position should give their name to the Executive Committee so we can fill this post as soon as

possible. Don’t hesitate to step up, we pay our volunteer Directors well :).

6. Ombudsman:

➢ The Royal Canadian Legion have changed the eligibility criteria for license plates with the poppy. Now all regular and former members of the RCMP are authorized to buy a plate for $10.00. To do so, fill out the form found in Annex and send it, with a check and a

copy of your service certificate (given to you upon your retirement) to confirm your RCMP service.

➢ A Message from the Montreal Administrative Office: «Although we suggest strongly that veterans do their best to find their Service

Certificate, the Administrative Services Office can issue an attestation of employment upon the receipt of the attached form (see Annex

2) at: Cdiv_Admin@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

7. Varia :

➢ Lifetime Member Certificates were presented to Léo Fontaine, Raymond Latour and Cornélius Monaghan. Constable

Geneviève St-Jean, Reg.# 61507, accompanied by Commanding Officer François Deschenes and Line Carbonneau,

presented the certificates;

➢ René Charbonneau is still waiting for volunteers for our Association’s new Executive Committee. Don’t wait to take

part, we need you, give us your name;

➢ The next meeting will be Tuesday 8 December 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at the Lux, 5500, rue Sherbrooke, Montreal.

Confirm your presence to Céline or Michel as soon as possible.

Following our long esablished tradition, the honor troop junior member (Reg. No. 61507 this year, Cst. Genevieve St-Jean) presented our older members with life member certificates.
