The Douglas Heiner Scholarship is made available from the generous donations of Dr. Douglas Heiner. The purpose is to support students who are working in underserved communities doing mentored research or field experience. Examples of supported initiatives include: • Tuition • Travel assistance for mentored research, field experience, conferences, symposia or other events. Each proposal will be evaluated on its own merit; however, it will be reviewed within the context of other submitted proposals. Applicants must be full-time students in the MPH program. Preference is given to students from less developed countries that plan to return to their home country to strengthen it. Procedures 1. Complete the attached Douglas Heiner Scholarship Application Form. Proposals submitted in any other format will not be considered. 2. Submit the Douglas Heiner Scholarship Application Form to the MPH office or email at [email protected]. 3. Proposals may be fully or partially funded dependent upon funds available. 4. Funds will be used for the approved purpose only as outlined in the proposal. If circumstances are such that a change is required to the proposal after the award has been granted, a request should be submitted in hard copy to the MPH office. Available Funding One or more scholarships may be awarded. A maximum of $10,000 will be distributed contingent on available funds.
