ThE UNIVERSITY

The Central Agricultural University (CAU) was established under Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) on 26th January, 1993 by the Central Agricultural University Act, 1992 (No.40 of 1992) of parliament with its headquarters at Imphal, Manipur. It is a fully residential university covering all the North-East Hill states under its jurisdiction except Assam. Like other Agricultural Universities of India, the CAU also has integrated programmes of teaching, research and extension education.MandateThe mandate of the university as stipulated in the Act are To impart education in different branches of agriculture and allied sciences as it may deem fit To further the advancement of learning and prosecution of research in agriculture and allied sciences To undertake programmes of extension education in the states under its area of jurisdiction and To undertake such other activities as it may determine from time to time. Mission Keeping the mandate in view, the mission of the university is to be a Centre of Excellence in Teaching, Research and Extension Education in the field of Agriculture and Allied Sciences.GoalTo fulfill the mission, the university has set the following goals: To produce globally competitive graduates and postgraduates in agriculture and allied sciences. To develop sustainable and profitable farming systems for improving productivity, production and

profitability in agriculture and allied sectors. To educate the extension functionaries for effective dissemination of agro-technologies to the farmers,

entrepreneurs and agro-industries. To be an important link in the chain for transforming agriculture and allied vocations into profitable

enterprises and ensuring food and nutritional security to the people of NEH region. The university encouraged and undertook every possible aspect of innovative research programme including “basic, strategic, applied and adaptive” normally applicable in the field of Agri-allied activities but focused on need base location specific problem solving approach. In an effort for popularization of modern innovative and sustainable agriculture and agro based allied activities in the state and region, farmers’ education is being extended to the farming communities and technical staffs from time to time.As per mandate, the university continues to excel in its commitment to teaching, learning and research with 9 Undergraduate, 38 Masters and 21 Ph. D. Degree programmes in different subjects/disciplines through its 13 constituent colleges. The University follows a common academic calendar for all the courses except B.V.Sc& A.H., which is governed by the Minimum Standard for Veterinary Education (MSVE) Regulations 2008 of Veterinary Council of India (VCI). Admission of students in different undergraduate courses is made through nominations by the respective state governments of NEH region and based on ICAR/VCI conducted entrance exams. Admissions to the post graduate and Ph.D. courses are done based on Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by the university. It adopts multi-prong academic regulations and syllabi framed by ICAR/VCI with minor changes to suit the regional needs and follows 10 point scale grading under semester system. Under this, a student needs a minimum of 5.00/10.00 grade point to pass a course but to obtain a degree 5.50/10.00 grade point average/cumulative grade point/overall grade point is required for the undergraduate studies. The corresponding grade points for P.G courses are 6.00/10.00 and 6.50/10.00 respectively. Evaluation of students is done through combination of both internal and external examinations. In spite of its remoteness and other location related disadvantages, the university maintained excellent academic environment in its constituent college campuses for professional success of the students. Students from different constituent colleges of the University secured JRF, SRF, GATE, ARS, CAT etc on the basis of All-India Combined Examinations. While

many of them secure admissions to postgraduate courses in different reputed State Agricultural Universities across the country as well as National Institutes like Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Indian Veterinary Research Institute, National Dairy Research Institute, Indian Agricultural Sciences Research Institutes and Central Institute of Fishery Education, etc. Special coaching programmeare arranged in all the constituent colleges to facilitate good performance of students in the annual NET/JRF/GATE/ARS and other national level examinations. The university has grown in leaps and bounds with thousands of nurtured alumni, carving a niche in the nation. 1.0. Area of Jurisdiction The Central Agricultural University, Imphal located at Lamphelpat, Imphal West, Manipur has its area of jurisdiction over seven North-Eastern Hill (NEH) states of India except Assam.2.0. The University Campus The university has thirteen campuses with its headquarters located at Lamphelpat, Imphal at a distance of about 2Km from inter-sate bus terminus and 7 Km from Imphal airport. 3.2: Classroom and Laboratory facilities Classrooms are well secured, adequately furnished and equipped with the latest state of art technology including smart class room facilities and close circuit camera etc. Sanitary lavatories for both the boys & girls and teaching and non teaching staffs are also attached with the classrooms. All the laboratories are well furnished and is equipped with high tech equipments for students class and research activities. Every college has computer laboratory which is connected with high speed internet facilities for use by students and faculty.

3.3: hostel facilities The hostels are located inside the colleges’ campuses that ensure close proximity and connectivity. The academic programmes of the university are purely residential and co-education except College of Home Science, Tura, Meghalaya where only girls students are admitted.Hostels are well furnished with free wi-fi facilities and modernized kitchens. There are separate hostels for boys and girls as well as under graduate, post graduate and doctoral research scholar also. Wardens monitored the hostels 24x7 hour’s pattern. Student clubs run their mess in the mess facilities in their respective hostels. 3.4:Library facilities All constituent college of the University is having digitally interlinked well equipped 24x7 library facilities. All the libraries are provided with internet facilities so that the students can browse for academic related activities and access online journals. Efficient library staffs are maintaining smooth functioning of the libraries. 3.5.Canteen facilities: All constituent colleges have well organized hygienic canteens located within the campus. The food prepared is assessable to the students and staff of the college at a nominal rate. A Committee monitors the hygienic and nutritional food prepared in the canteen.

3.6: Extra-curricular activities Guided by our student centred philosophy, the university promotes co-curricular opportunities and encourages student participation in all aspects of campus life. All constituent colleges of the universities have well managed games and sports infrastructures including all season indoor facilities, auditorium and gymnasium. The constituent colleges organized the co-curricular activities in the form of annual college week, sports and games and social/cultural meets. To provide a common platform for the students of constituent colleges located in different states of the region, the University organized annual Inter-Collegiate Games & Sports Meet and Youth Festivals on shifting venue basis. The university shines

in the All India ICAR Inter Agricultural Universities Games and Sports Meet (s), All India University Tournaments and Championships as well as AIU Youth Festivals and ICAR Youth Festivals etc.All constituent colleges of the university organized Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan programme to create awareness among the CAU community, the sense of sanitation, hygiene and healthy living in tune with clean environment. The university also organized International Day of Yoga to inculcate the students, a sense of nationalism through different community services. The university availed National Social Service (NSS) Scheme by opening NSS cells in all the constituent colleges and organized programmes like blood donation, tree plantation, water harvesting, sanitation, health and hygiene activities, eco-environmental conservation and preservation etc. The university also organized animal health camps, field visits, seminar on stress management, communal harmony weeks with poster campaigns and other community service related activities on regular intervals. 3.7: Experimental fields All the constituent colleges of the university have their own experimental fields where students may go for experiential learning projects from time to time.3.8: Medical facilities Each constituent college has well equipped medical unit for regular health check-up of staff and students. These 24X7 hours medical facilities are available in all campuses with well qualified resident medical officers assisted by compounder cum dresser, trained nurses and attendants, in all the campuses of the university. Ambulances services by the colleges is also provided for the students and staffs for emergencies and effective health care management. Apart from routine check-up and treatment the medical unit of the colleges also organizes voluntary Blood Donation Camp for staff and student.

3.9: Placement cell The University has placement cell and availed placement for the students in different agri allied sectors including banks, private establishment, NGO’s, industry etc. Pass out students of the university are serving in the reputed Universities, Technical Institutes of Higher Education, KrishiVigyan Kendra (s), Research Institutes of High Repute etc. We have students doing Doctoral Degree Research in fame International Research Institutes’ as well as serving in the Universities abroad in different capacities. 4.0. Admission policy Admission in all the courses in made on the basis of rules framed by the admission committee of the University and Constituent Colleges. Their decision will be final and binding. For admission the University recognizes only the public examinations of Councils/Boards/Universities.The Selection/Nomination of candidates should be made through Competitive Entrance Test conducted by the concerned state and All India JEE conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), KrishiAnusandhanBhawan, Pusa New Delhi/VCI, New Delhi and concerned member states located within the jurisdiction of CAU, Imphal.Under no circumstances, admission shall be allowed to any candidate who does not fulfill the minimum prescribed educational qualifications. Rules shall be followed in letter and spirit without any relaxation. Candidates seeking admission should be a permanent resident or domicile of any of the seven states of the NE Region, covered under the jurisdiction of the University. However, this condition is not applicable to the nominees of ICAR/VCI or any special category of nominees as decided by the University/Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Government of India.Details of ‘ADMISSION INFORMATION’ is available in the university website-www.cau.ac.inICAR seats Admission shall be made as per recommendations of the ICAR. For this purpose the ICAR conducts entrance test in which any candidate irrespective of his resident status can appear. Admission is made on the basis of merit in entrance test and details are available in the Information Bulletin issued by the ICAR every year in the month of February/March. For any other details, the Deputy Director General (Edn.) Indian Council of Agricultural Research, KrishiAnusandhanBhawan, Pusa New Delhi be consulted. First of all, seats in general category will be filled up. The candidate of reserved category who is able to find place in the general merit will be considered to have been admitted against general category seats. Thereafter, seats will be filled up as per reservation indicated in rules. A candidate who has secured admission in the first counseling in the reserved category cannot be adjusted against general seat though his turn comes in the subsequent counseling for general category also. Seats lying vacant in any reserved category due to non availability of eligible candidates will be added to general category and filled up in 2nd counseling.The children of persons having gross annual income of up to three lakhs rupees shall first of all get the benefit of reservation OBC category in admissions. The left quota shall go to that class of OBC of citizens who earn more than three lakh rupees but up to six lakh rupees per annum. In other cases, where grade points are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured at least 60% marks for General, OBC and UPS categories, whereas for SC/ST/PC categories, the requirement is 50% marks.

The candidates having passed Bachelor’s degree with 3 years duration will not be considered for admission in any PG Programmes.

For in-service candidates, qualifications remain same for respective programmes/ categories.

The selection of candidates will be based on the Entrance Examination marks (40% Weightage) and academic performance in UG Examination (40% Weightage) High School (10% Weightage) & Senior Secondary (10+2) (10% Weightage) level Examinations.

4.3. Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D degree programmes: Candidates with Master’s degree in concerned/related subjects from a recognized University with OGPA of

6.50/10.00, 3.25/5.00, 2.6/4.00 are eligible for admission to the Doctoral programmes under General/OBC/UPS category.

SC/ST/PC category candidates with OGPA of 5.50/10.00, 2.75/5.00, 2.20/4.00 in the Master’s degree shall be eligible for admission.

In case where Grade Points are not awarded, only marks are awarded, the candidates must have secured at least 60% marks for General/OBC/UPS category and 50% marks for SC/ST/PC category.

These seats are against payment of higher fee and is admissible to Indian Nationals from the all over India. For payment seats, reservation policy is not applicable. The admissibility is based strictly on merit (% mark) secured in the qualifying examination (i.e. 10+2).The candidates must have attained 17 years of age as on 31st August of the admission year.The selected candidates will have to pay tuition fee of Rs 50,000 along with the admission and other fee as structured by the University for securing admission to the particular degree programme. The students admitted under this higher fee category shall not be eligible for any financial benefits such as scholarships, stipend, internship and any other grants from the university. However, all other facilities will be provided at par with the other state/ICAR nominees. Any additional vacancy that may arise in any degree programme to be filled up from this category shall be at the discretion of the selection committee and subsequent approval of the competent authority.4.7.Academic Year and duration of degree course: For UG Degree Programmes:i) The academic year shall generally commence from 1st working day of July of each year for all U.G. programme

except B.V.Sc. & A.H. course which will start from 1st August or next working day. However, the Academic Council has the authority to decide the exact dates and months of commencement and termination of an academic year. An academic year shall be divided into two semesters and shall include the inter-semester break.

ii) A semester shall generally consist of 22 weeks and shall have not less than 110 working days including 95 net instructional days and 15 days for examinations. The study tour shall be organized during inter-semester break. Any study tour if needs to be organized during the semester, loss of instructional days have to be compensated.

iii) Co-curricular activities shall be organized simultaneously with academic activities after class hours. Loss of instructional days due to inter class/inter collegiate competitions in sports/games/cultural activities etc., or due to any other reason shall be compensated by providing additional instructional days. Any change in the notified schedule of academic year/semester due to any unforeseen reason shall be affected with the approval of the Vice Chancellor and shall be placed before the Academic Council for information.

iv) The minimum number of classes for each one credit of a course shall be 16 in a semester. One credit is defined as one hour lecture or two hours lab. work or 3 hours field work per week.

4.8. how to apply for admissioni) Application for admission to Master’s degree and Doctoral degree programmes shall be made in prescribed

application form obtainable from the office of the Registrar/Dean of constituent Colleges on issue of noti-fication to this effect. The duly filled in application complete in all respects along with documents shall be submitted so as to reach the Registrar of the University on or before the prescribed date.

ii) Students who have appeared in the final examination of the qualifying degree course and whose results are awaited for declaration may also submit their applications on or before the prescribed date.

iii) Incomplete Application Form will be rejected.

iv) Under no circumstances Application Forms shall be received after the last date.

4.9. Documents/enclosures required along with the Application Form at the time of submissions

i) Pass certificate for 10+2 Examination

ii) Mark sheet for 10+2 Examination.

iii) Certificate of High School pass Examination in support of date of birth

iv) Migration/transfer certificate from the Board/Council/University where the candidate studied last.

v) College/ School leaving certificate from the authority of the college/school where the candidate last studied.

vi) Conduct certificate from the Principal of the College/School where the candidate studied last.

vii) Permanent residency /domicile certificate of concerned state.

viii) Certificate from competent authority in case admission is sought under reserved category.

ix) Medical certificate from a medical Officer not below the rank of Asst. Surgeon in support of physical fitness of the candidate.

x) Any other documents (as per prospectus/notification) that may be required at the time of admission.

4.10. Payment of fees

The selected candidates shall pay the prescribed fee at the time of admission. Details of fee structure are enclosed as Annexure–I& Annexure –II

4.11. Admission procedurei) All the shortlisted candidates shall present themselves for counseling on the prescribed date and time in

respective courses with all original documents.

ii) Based on merit, provisional admission letter shall be issued to the candidate by the Registrar, CAU, Imphal.

iii) The provisionally selected candidate shall report to the Dean of concerned College along with all original documents on the prescribed date.

iv) The Dean shall get the original documents verified by a committee of three senior teachers and Asstt. Reg-istrar (Academic). After being satisfied with genuineness of certificate, the students shall be admitted after payment of prescribed fee.

v) All original documents shall be kept in safe custody of the Dean of the College.

4.12. Admission of Foreign Students:

i) Foreign students may be admitted under the category of ICAR nominee. No self-financing foreign student may be given admission unless their case is supported by the Govt. of India, International organisation, re-spective Govt. and approved by the Govt. of India or Indian Council of Cultural Relations or ICAR.

ii) Foreign students sponsored/nominated through ICAR or any other agencies mentioned above shall be re-quired to pay institutional economic fee of US Dollar 200 per month or US Dollar 2000 per year in addition to the normal fee charged by the college/ University from Indian students.

iii) Foreign students must have valid passport and visa before they can be given admission.

iv) Foreign students’ adviser may be nominated from every constituent colleges of CAU, Imphal and the same has to be sent to head quarter for approval by the competent authority.

v) They must register with the foreign students’ adviser of respective colleges.

vi) They should also get themselves registered with the police (C.I.D.) within a fortnight of their arrival.

vii) All foreign students must get themselves medically checked by the nearest Civil Surgeon/ Supt. Of district hospital at their own expenses and the certificate in a particular proforma available from the concerned col-leges be submitted before they can be admitted.

viii) All foreign students (fresh and returning from abroad) must get themselves screened for the disease AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) at their own cost and submit screening certificate from authorized medical officer before they can be considered for admission to any class.

ix) If a student is found unfit due to any disease, other than AIDS, he shall be declared temporarily unfit and can continue studies subjects to university regulations. A student with confirmed AIDS disease will have to return to his country.

x) The minimum academic qualification for admission in all the under graduate programmes and post graduate programmes are made as per the CAU criteria/Govt. of India (ICAR).

4.13. Refusal of admission

The Vice-Chancellor reserves the right to refuse admission to any candidate whose admission in his/her opinion is detrimental to the interest of the University.

4.14. Registration The first day of the commencement of the semester shall be the date of registration by the students.

Registration procedure of the newly admitted students:i) On admission, a student shall be provided four copies of registration cards having different colours, one for

the student, one for the advisor, one for the Dean and one for the Registrar, which shall fill up and register for the prescribed courses for the first semester. The registration cards shall be signed by the student, his/her advisor, the Assistant Registrar (Acad.) and countersigned by the Dean of the College.

ii) With registration cards in hand, the student shall report to the concerned Head of Department / Deptt. In-charge, who shall help the student for selection of courses and filling the cards.

iii) On admission and registration, the student shall be provided with an identity card with his/her photograph. The identity card shall be returned to the College when the student leaves the College after completion/discontinuation of the course/being dropped from the College/University for a specified period for good.

iv) Each newly admitted student shall be given an Admission Number by the Dean of the concerned college and this Admission Number shall be continue till allotment of Registration Number by the Registrar.

v) An orientation programme is organized by the dean of the college for the benefit of the newly admitted students immediately after the commencement of the semester

5.0. Some disciplinary rules and regulationsi) Students are expected to maintain a high standard of discipline in all spheres of their activity in the college.

They should follow the rules and regulations prescribed by the University authority and enforced by the Dean (s) of constituent colleges from time to time.

ii) Only such Associations or Societies shall enjoy facilities of the university and the constituent college premises as have been recognized by the University Authority.

iii) University properties including those of constituent college (s) located in different states of NER, i.e furniture, libraries, books, etc, must be treated with care.

iv) Use of intoxicants within the University and Constituent College campus premises is strictly prohibited.

v) A student who has enrolled in any stream of study under the university system of CAU, Imphal must attend 75% of lectures lest may subject to debar from appearing exam of that semester.

vi) Every student must possess an upto date Identity Card duly signed by the Constituent College Authority. He/she must have the Identity Card in his/her possession inside and outside the college campus. The Identity Card must be in her possession during college hours.

vii) Ragging is an offence and strictly prohibited in and outside the campus.

viii) Criminal conspiracy to ragging is punishable under the law

ix) Unlawful assembly and rioting while ragging is punishable under the law

x) Public nuisance created during ragging is is punishable under the law

xi) Verbal abuse and aggression/indecent gestures and obscene behavior/ outraging the modesty/wrongful restraint/assault as well as sexual offence is punishable under the law

xii) Extortion/criminal trespass/offence against property/criminal intimidation/physical or psychological humiliation/defamation or threat to defame is punishable under the law

xiii) Any type of abuse through electronic media/ attempt to commit any of the above offences against the victim(s) is punishable under the law.

5.1. Administrative action in the event of Ragging i) The Deans shall punish a student found guilty of ragging after following the procedures and in the prescribed

manner here in under.

ii) The Anti Ragging Committee of the University/College shall take an appropriate decision in regard to pun-ishment or otherwise depending on the facts of each incident of ragging and nature and gravity of the incident of ragging established in the recommendations of Anti Ragging Squad.

iii) The Anti Ragging Committee may depending on the nature and gravity of the guilt established by the Anti Ragging Squad recommend to those found guilty, one or more of the following punishments.

iv) Suspension from attending classes and academic privilege.

v) Withholding/ withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits.

vi) Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process

vii) Withholding results

viii) Debarring from representing the institution in any regional/national/international meet/tournament/youth fes-tivals.

ix) Suspension/expulsion from the hostel.

x) Rustication from the Institution for period upto three years.

xi) Cancellation of admission

xii) Expulsion from the Institution and cancellation of admission and consequent debarring from admission to any other Institution for a period of three years.

xiii) Forfeiting campus placement opportunity or recommendations.

xiv) Imposition of fine uptoRs 25,000/- provided that where the persons committing or abetting the act of ragging are not identified the Institution shall resort to collective punishment

5.2. Quantum of punishmenti) In a proven case of ragging, whether First Information Report has been lodged or not , the concerned Dean

shall suspend the guilty for a period at least of two semesters or one academic year.ii) Depending upon the nature and gravity of the offence as reported by the committee, the Dean may impose

any one or combination of the punishments mentioned in (i) to (xi) upon the student(s) found guilty.iii) The appeal shall lie with the Vice Chancellor within fortnight from the date of issue of orders.iv) Where in the opinion of the authority, a lapse is attribute to any member of the faculty or staff of the

University, in the matter of reporting or taking prompt action to prevent an incident or ragging or who display an apathetic or insensitive attitude towards complaints or ragging, or who fail to take timely action /steps, whether required under these rules or otherwise, to prevent an incident of ragging then such authority shall initiate departmental disciplinary action in accordance with the prescribed procedure of the institution against such member of the faculty or staff.

5.3. Suspension After having regard to the nature and gravity of the incident of ragging, the Dean of the College of concerned with respect to the concerned student of the college is satisfied that it is necessary / desirable in the interest of the University to place under suspension, the student found involved in an act of indiscipline, he may place such student under suspension. Such suspension will not amount to any penalty having been imposed under the provision under these rules.Such suspension will debar a student from availing any facility of the University. In the event of any inconsistency amongst the rules or in the event of any clarification with respect of the above rules, the matter shall be decided in accordance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009 and directions of The Hon’ble Apex Court Regarding prevention ragging with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor.6.0. Some hostel Rules and Regulation Central Agricultural University, Imphal, being a fully residential University all the students selected for admission to any institution/college of university are eligible for applying hostels. Every hostel is managed by a warden who is responsible for hostel administration and enforcement of the mandatory rules and regulations. For effective functioning of the hostels, various committees like the Hostel Management Committee, The Hostel Welfare Committee, Hostel Mess Committee etc. are formed in all the constituent colleges of the university.1) Application forms along with the copies of Hostel Regulations can be obtained in person from the office of

the concerned wardens and students need to apply in this prescribed Form for hostel accommodation. Selected students can join the hostels after paying the prescribed fees.

2) Student once admitted to the hostel shall take their board in the hostels and constitute as residents thereafter immediately.

3) Hostel borders are compulsory to join hostel mess.

4) Hostel Fees: Students admitted in the hostels shall have to pay mandatory fees listed below during admission itself:

5) Caution money will be refunded when the student is finally leaving the institute / college but after deduction of necessary dues.

6) The boarders shall deposit the monthly mess fee decided by the Hostel Welfare Committee to the Mess Manager on or before 10th of every month. Mess fees must be deposited within the stipulated period failing which a fine Rs 15/ day shall be imposed to all defaulters including Government of India scholarship holders.

7) No student shall change the room once allotted. If change of room matters, then, it must be done with due permission of the concern warden that too with fitting reason. Likewise, no articles like furniture and fixtures shall be removed from the room allotted to them.

8) There will be routine medical check up for hostellers in the health center of the institute.

9) No resident is allowed to stay outside the hostel campus after 7.00 p.m (for girls) and 8.00 p.m (for boys) during summer whereas 6.00 p.m (for girls) and 7.00 p.m (for boys) during winter on working days without warden’s permission except for marketing days when college bus is going to town. These timing may be changed as and when required.

10) The night roll-call will be taken by the concerned prefect at 9:00 p.m. in winter and 10:00 p.m. in summer. However, the post graduate students can go to Library/Laboratory with due permission from the Warden on recommendations of the concerned Head of Department

11) For leave on medical ground, one application signed by the Medical Officer along with parents/guardian letter shall be submitted to the warden for necessary permission, thereof.

12) Student inmates (hosteller) are responsible for hygienic maintenance of their rooms and safety of hostel property including furniture allotted to them. For any permanent fittings, responsible will be fix individually or jointly according to the gravity of such cases. No resident shall damage any parts of the rooms allotted to them or disfigured the wall by writing or by indiscriminate efforts or by pasting posters, photographs, etc.

13) Rooms are subject to surprise visits/inspection by the Dean / warden or other authority whenever required.

14) Occupants shall use electricity and water judiciously. They shall invariably put off all the lights, fans, other electronic appliances before leaving the room.

15) No resident shall use radio sets, music players, heaters or any other electric appliances in the rooms. Cooking food in the hostel room/premises is strictly prohibited.

16) Before leaving the room for long breaks or vacation, all residents shall take written permission from the wardens; lock their rooms and handover the keys to the hostel wardens.

17) The warden is not responsible for safe custody of residents’ belongings so the students shall take precautionary measures themselves at this end.

18) Residents shall not be permitted to keep or use firearms, missiles, alcohols, psychotropic drugs and other intoxicants inside the hostels and institutional premises etc. Use of these things inside the rooms and hostel premises are strictly prohibited.

19) Gambling and its other form of chance game as well as playing music system causing disturbances to the other are strictly prohibited in the hostel and hostel premises.

20) Any resident shall act nor incite other to act in a manner calculated to cause annoyance to others in the hostel.

21) Unauthorized person cannot enter a room in the hostel without undue approval of the warden.

22) Before vacating the rooms, the students have to fill up the prescribed ‘Room Vacating Slip’ in triplicate and submit these to the Warden. The furniture, electrical installations including the fan(s) and any other fixture that were provided in the room, all have to be handed over in proper condition to the hostel management at the time of vacating the room. If any damage in item is found to have occurred, compensation as assessed by the hostel management shall be recovered from the boarder concerned.
