OBITUARYGene van Vliet Gene passed away suddenly at his home in the early hours of August 4, 2009 due to compli-cations created from his long battle with diabetes. He will be greatly missed by his two sons Alex and Nathan, mom and dad Donna and Nick, grandmother Lorna Mark, his aunts, uncles and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Airdrie United Church’s Christian Education Building located at 204 - 1st Avenue N.E., Airdrie on August 14th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers or gifts of condolence the family asks that donations be made in his memory to Juvenile Diabetes Research or the Kidney Foundation.
