As per the details, acting on tip off, a team of Police Post Nagri led by SI Vikas Jasrotia Incharge Police Post Nagri as directed by Inspr. Anil Sharma SHO Kathua under the direct supervision of S.S Sambyal Dy. SP Headquarters Kathua con- ducted a raid in Banyari area falling in the jurisdiction of Police Post Nagri and destroyed 100 liters of Lahan recovered on the spot and also seized 10 litres of illicit liquor from the pos- session of one lady namely Rekha Rani wife of Chanda resident of Mirpur Jaggo Kathua. Police registered a case FIR No 93/2018 u/s 48(E) Excise Act. The drive was carried out under the overall supervision of Sanjay Parihar Addl. SP Kathua. 9 bovines rescued, smuggler flees STATE TIMES NEWS KATHUA: Police on Tuesday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing nine bovines, however smuggler managed to escape from the spot. As per the details, acting on tip off, a team of Police Post Hatli led by SI Verinder Singh Incharge Police Post as directed by Inspector Anil Sharma SHO Police Station Kathua under the direct supervision of Dy. SP S.S. Sambyal Dy. SP Headquarters Kathua intercepted one truck (JK02AK 5571) carrying bovines which was on way from Punjab towards Kashmir near Maggar Khad falling in the jurisdiction of Police Post Hatli. During checking of the vehi- cle, police rescued nine bovines being smuggled in the said vehi- cle but driver of the truck managed to escape. Police also seized the truck and registered a case vide FIR No 94/2018 under section 188 RPC ,3/5 PCA Act. Woman suffers snakebite, evacuated to GMC STATE TIMES NEWS NOWSHERA: A middle aged woman identified as Amrit Kour (45) wife of Harbhajan Singh resident of Dhallen, suf- fered a snakebite and was immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital Nowshera. Since the condition of the patient was serious, she was evacuated to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu after providing first aid. Bike stolen STATE TIMES NEWS NOWSHERA: A motorcycle bearing registration No 11B- 4976 was stolen from the residential area of Nowshera city during the night of 12/13 March, 2018. According to Laxman Dass son of Som Raj resident of Bhawani Sair who was putting up in the city in a rented house, parked his bike outside his room as usual. In the morning he found his motorcycle missing. Laxman Dass immediately reported the matter to Police Station Nowshera. Javed Khan and supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Syed Muried Hussain Shah, the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Vikas Anand, Inspectors Excise Arun Kumar and Sanjeev Khajuria, SI Amit Sharma along with Excise Guards namely Rajinder Singh, Shamsher Dev Singh, Mohd Ramzan and Balbir Singh raided the Sumwan, Mahi Chak and lower Sakta Chak areas of Kathua District to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor. STATE TIMES NEWS KALAKOTE : Expressing sol- idarity with Kalakote Beopar Mandal, National Conference on Tuesday staged a massive Dharna in support of the demand for carving out a sep- arate district and posting of Additional Deputy Commissioner in Kalakote. Leading the protesters, for- mer MLA and State Secretary National Conference Th Rachpal Singh expressed grave concern over the lack- adaisical and insensitive approach of the PDP-BJP government to the issue, say- ing there seems to be a design in vitiating the atmosphere by ignoring popular demand of the area. Th Rachpal Singh referred to recent decision of the Coalition Government with regard to posting of Addl Deputy Commissioners on rotational basis and said that instead of assuaging the aspi- rations of the people, the move has added insult to the injury. He said this decision was not acceptable to the people of Kalakote, as they want the core issue to be sorted out once forever. He assailed the PDP- BJP dispensation for sitting over the issue for quite a long time and negating the initia- tives taken by the Omar Abdullah government for tak- ing administration to the door step of people, especially in remote and border areas. He said the problems of people have increased manifold dur- ing the past three years and on the administrative front they are forced to tread long dis- tances, particularly with regard to revenue, agriculture and allied matters. Th Rachpal Singh demanded immediate roll-back of the recent government order per- taining to posting of Addl Deputy Commissioners on rotational basis and called for putting in place an ADC in Kalakote on permanent basis. In the camp, the youth leaders distributed daily use items that include 100 tooth brushes, 100 toothpastes, 100 soaps and 100 school notebooks.
