Police solves theft cases; onearrested, Rs 80,000 recovered
STATE TIMES NEWSDODA: Police on Tuesday solved three burglary casesincluding one of ATMwithin hours by arrest-ing the thief and recov-ering the money.
According to a report,during the interveningnight of 19th -20thJune, 2017, some bur-glars broke open theshutters of two shopsand one ATM in Dodatown. The burglarssucceeded in decamping with Rs 80,000 from the shop butwas reportedly unable to open the locker of the ATM. Thetwo shops belong to to Yawer Zaffer Batt and Riaz AhmedThoker located near District Library Doda.
After registering a case vide FIR No 134/2017 under sec-tion 457/380 RPC at Police Station Doda, a team under thesupervision of SHO Doda, Inspector Raghubir Singh, imme-diately started investigation and within no time, police man-aged to get some solid clues and on the basis of same, a sus-pect was arrested who after some resistance confessed ofcommitting the crime and money was recovered from him.
The accused from whom the recovery was made has beenidentified as Jaffer Hussain son of Abdul Hameed MirResident of Beoli, Doda.

UDHAMPUR: A team of Legal Metrology Department,Udhampur led by Assistant Controller, Anita Sharma con-ducted surprise market inspection here this morning.
During the inspection, various commercial establishmentsincluding Kiryana shops, fruit/vegetable stalls, hardwarestores, gold smith shops, gas agencies and petrol pumpswere inspected by the team. Sixteen traders were booked on-spot and a fine of Rs.23,000 was realised from the default-ers.
Speaking on the occasion, the Assistant Controllerappealed the consumers to remain vigilant and check rates,date of packing and complete address of the manufacturerduring shopping. She also directed the traders not to indulgein any unfair trade practice.

UDHAMPUR: A body of a teenager was found lying in mys-terious circumstances in Latti Nallha in Tehsil Chenani inDistrict Udhampur.
According to a report, a body of a teenager boy was foundlying in mysterious circumstances in Latti Nallah in TehsilChenani district Udhampur. At wee hours some passerbyafter seeing the dead informed the local police who shifted itto nearby PHC where doctors declared him brought dead.Victim was identified as 15 years Balbir Singh son of KunjLal resident of Latti locality. Police handed over the body tothe family members of victim after conducting autopsy andregistered a case under section 174 Cr.PC for investigation.

UDHAMPUR: A biker was knocked to death by a speedingtruck on Dhar Road near Karkai in Udhampur on Tuesday.
According to a report, a motorcycle (DL3SDE-0440) washit by a speeding truck on Dhar Road near Karkai resultingin biker getting critically injured and was shifted to nearbyPHC from where on seeing his serious condition was furtherreferred to Batra Hospital Jammu where he succumbed toinjuries. Police handed over the body to family members ofthe victim after conducting autopsy and registered a case forinvestigation. The victim was identified as Sarperrt Dixitson of Om Parksh resident of New Delhi.

UDHAMPUR: Three workers of Battal Ballian factoryreceived burn injuries while they were engaged in factorywork in Udhampur on Tuesday.
According to a report, three workers of Battal Ballain fac-tory in Udhampur were suddenly engulfed in flames as firebroke out due to short circuit. They all received fatal burninjuries and were shifted to District Hospital Udhampur,from where they were further referred to GMC Jammu onbeing serious. The injured were identified as 36 years RamCharan son of Rattan Lal and 33 years Mohd Aslam son ofMani both residents of village Chak and Rattan Kumar sonof Madan Lal resident of Thnnu in Udhampur. UdhampurPolice has registered a case for investigation.

SAMBA: A man was arrested on Tuesday for carrying 46pouches of illicit liquor at Samba.
According to a report, a party of Police Station Sambaheaded by Inspector Yashpal Singh Jamwal arrested oneperson namely Ganesh Kumar son of Kunj Lal resident ofWard No. 10 Samba who is working as SPO in Samba Policeand recovered 46 nips of illicit liquor from his possession. Acase vide FIR No. 127/17 under section 48-A Excise Act wasregistered in Police Station Samba and investigation ingoing on.

RAJOURI: Police on Tuesday foiled a bovine smuggling bidby rescuing four bovines and arresting a smuggler.
According to a report, during a surprise Naka laid byIftkhar Ahmed SDPO Thanamandi assisted by InspectorKaran Chalotra at Thanamandi, four bovines were rescuedfrom the clutches of a bovine smuggler namely LiaqatHussain resident of Darhal. Vehicle used in transportationof these bovines was also seized. A case vide FIR No 67under section 188, 3/PC Act was registered against thesmuggler at Police Station Thanamandi .

He thanked the peoplefor overwhelming response tocamps organised for providingservices covered under PSGAand informed that such aseries of camps will continue inJuly as well. So fare more than5,500 certificates have beenissued in ongoing 112 campsnotified for this month.

modation and other facilitiesbe provided for the DegreeCollege Bishnah.
Speakers appealed to G. SCharak to take up theseissues with the concernedauthorities at the earliest oth-erwise they will be compelledto start strong protest againstthe government in whole ofthe Tehsil.
Charak assured them thattheir genuine demands will betaken up with Central andState Governments and if itfailed to act then governmentshould get ready to face pub-lic wrath. STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: DistrictDevelopment Commissioner,Ravinder Kumar on Tuesdaychaired a meeting to reviewthe pace of developmentalworks and implementation ofwelfare schemes in the dis-trict. Discussion was held onstatus of development proj-ects, their stage-wiseprogress, issues involvedthereto and system of super-vision and monitoring by thefield officers. The DDCdirected the officers to accel-erate developmental tempoin the district and ensure alltargeted developmental proj-ects are completed withinstipulated time. He alsodirected officers to ensure
field visit to check quality ofwork and remove bottle-necks, if any.
Earlier, DDC had feedbackfrom various departmentsregarding physical andfinancial status of develop-mental works in the district.The DDC also asked the offi-cers to submit physical andfinancial progress of ongoingdevelopment works onmonthly basis so that anytype of inordinate delay inthe completion of the projectdo not occur.
The meeting was attendedby officers and officials fromPlanning, RDD, Health,Education, Power, R&B,ICDS, Social Welfare andpolice.
