According to a report, a team of Ghagwal Police station headed by Amit Singh Andotra, SHO along with District Special Branch intercepted a one person from Border Road Ghagwal. During his frisking, police recovered 55 pouches of the illicit liquor from his possession. The boot- legger identified as Arun Kumar son of Vishwanath resident of Ghagwal was arrested and a case under relevant section was registered against him. As per the details, on specific informa- tion, a team of Police Post Nagri led by SI Vikas Jasrotia Incharge Police Post Nagri as directed by Inspector Anil Sharma SHO Police Station Kathua under the direct supervision of S.S Sambyal Dy. SP Headquarters Kathua, conducted raid at Sakta Chak area and apprehended one person namely Miyan Din son of Makhan Din resident of Duwaal Tehsil and District Kathua and recovered 380 Spasmo Proxyvon Plus Capsules from his possession. The accused was arrested and a case vide FIR No 65/2018 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered against him at Police Station Kathua. STATE TIMES NEWS BHADARWAH: After witnessing grand tourism flow in summers, the Bhadarwah Development Authority (BDA) and those associ- ated with tourism were upbeat and eyeing on the winter season to bring more success for tourism industry as famous high altitude tourist destinations of Bhadarwah including Padri, Guldanda and Jai Ghati received good snowfall last week, but all their efforts goes in vain as no one road including Interstate Bhadarwah-Chamba and Bhadarwah-Basholi Roads were cleared by the concerned authorities. People especially those associ- ated with tourism are alleging step- motherly treatment to Bhadarwah by the government and concerned authorities, as even after passing of a week, authorities are still failed to cleare the roads approaching to these tourist destinations. Fresh Snowfall in Bhadarwah, including the tourist resort of Jai valley and especially Padri meadow located on interstate Bhaderwah- Chamba Road, has literally come as a boon from the heavens for winter sports and tourism-related activi- ties in the Bhadarwah Valley, as BDA had planned to host a 'Snow Carnival', but all programmes got canceled due to closer of road con- nectivity to all tourist destinations including Padri, Jaie Valley and Guldanda. People associated with tourism are suffering a lot due to blockage of roads and their hopes of receiv- ing huge number of visitors during snow is now breaking down, as they canceled all their advance booking of tourists, who expressed their willingness to visit Padri and Guldanda meadows located on interstate Bhaderwah-Chamba and Bhadarwah-Bani-Basoli roads simultaneously to enjoy the much awaited snowfall. Publicity Officer, Bhadarwah Development Authority Sajid Nisar Khan said that, after gap of three months, finally we received snow- fall here, which was a good omen for Tourism industry, but it is unfortunate that tourist cannot enjoy the snow in this beautiful val- ley as they can't reach to the snow filled high altitude destinations easily, as all the roads leading to these meadows are closed for traffic due to non clearance of snow by the concerned authorities. "I request to the concerned authorities to clear all approaching roads to tourist destination of Bhadarwah, so that tourist can visit here to enjoy the beauty of this valley in winters as well, " Khan added. Meanwhile hoteliers, guest house owners and tour operators are demanding that to attract more tourists during winters, all roads should be opened immediately on the pattern of Gulmarg and Pehalgam. President Travel Trade Association Bhadarwah Tariq Choudhary said that we have ample scope for winter Tourism here, Jaie valley and Padri can be developed as a major destination for skiing, sledging and other sporting activi- ties on snow, but unfortunately due to closed roads all our efforts to make Bhadarwah all weather tourism destination remained only a dream this year too. It is notable to mention here that during this summer Bhadarwah recieved record num- ber of tourists from May to mid August as the number of tourists touched to 5 lakhs for the first time but after that there was a lull and very few tourists turned during autumn, both tour operators and department attributed steep decline with prolonged dry weather.
