Faurecia is the world leader in automotive interiors equipment. This group has turned to 3MB to create new jigs which are essen-tial for placement of their thermoplastic parts. Their request: jigs’ standardization, lightness, resistance and ease of use.Due to the multiplicity and particularity of each jig, this project requires high reactivity and innovation capacity in terms of design, production and choice of materials. It is through the strength of our expertise backed by our engineering team that we take on this challenge.

Our proposal: design of an elastomer core, abrasion resistant, to protect the part during its movement. Use of the latest innovations in the composite market to standardize jigs’ support.

Our promise: Flexibility, reactivity and conti-nuous improvement facing signifi cant and fluc-tuating production volumes.

Optimization of the production through our flexible and sustainable solutions

SROKA has recently developed a new type of kitefoils based on hydrofoil’s racing sailboat. As the foil market is expanding, we must provide to our customer the advantage of a production as flexible and effective as competitive in terms of price and quality to reach all the potential consu-mers.3MB operates in co-development on this project from the concept to end product. This collabo-ration between nautical professionals and our engineering team has created a highly technical product through its design, its performance and its reliability.

Design & production of carbon and fi berglass hydrofoils

Page 17: 3MB Portfolio English version

This ambitious project, by its mechanical, geometric and aesthetic triple constraint, required a very ad-vanced development stage. While keeping in mind our productivity targets. This collaboration results in a gain of 20% of foil’s effi ciency, a more effi cient industrialization and an innovative assembly tech-nique for a high quality end product.

We use all the benefi ts of prepreg carbon and innovative compression techniques on this project.

Today, we have developed two versions of this foil, one in alu-minum and fi berglass and another in carbon and titanium. Our actual monthly volume output is 270 foils and our future goals are to increase this production and develop new models to meet the market demand.
