3MTM Network Operations Manager. What is it?NOM is a web-enabled software service that runs on the same network asyour digital signage. It comprises two basic components: the NOM Agentand the NOM Web Portal. The NOM Agent installs on each of your networkdevices (player PCs and/or servers) to collect and report on status and execute remote command and control. Non-PC devices such as routers,firewalls and printers are monitored using SNMP. The NOM Web Portal isyour interface and control panel for all network devices, and can beaccessed via any internet-enabled computer.

How does it work?NOM Agents are remotely installed and configured by 3M as part of yourNOM subscription. The Agent monitors all hardware, software, and activityon the player PC, not just that associated with your digital signage.

Like 3MTM Network Edition software, the Agent uses only outbound Port 80(http), allowing it to operate securely through firewalls and the internet. Foradditional security, the Agent encrypts all messages and invokes SSL forremote control sessions.
