3-D SHAPES
We live in a three-dimensional world. Every object you can see or touch has three dimensions that can be measured: length, width, and height. The room you are sitting in can be described by these three dimensions. The computer monitor has these three dimensions. Even you can be described by these three dimensions. In fact, the clothes you are wearing were made specifically for a person with your dimensions.

PRISMThe shape of its cross-section is the same throughout its length.
Key Features:
Faces, Corners, Edges?
It depends what sort of prism it is.
Examples of prisms include triangular prism, hexagonal prism, cuboid, cube and cylinder.
TRIANGULAR PRISM
A prism with a triangular cross-section.
Key Features:
Faces 5
Corners 6
Edges 9
HEXAGONAL PRISM
A prism with a hexagonal cross-section.
Key Features:
Faces 8Corners 12Edges 18
CYLINDERA prism with a circular cross-section.
Key Feature:
Faces, Corners and Edges:
The normal definitions of faces, corners and edges are not appropriate for a cylinder.
CONEThe point of the cone is directly above the center of the circular base.
Key Feature:
Faces, Corners and Edges:The normal definitions of faces, corners and edges are not appropriate for a cone.
SPHEREEvery point on the surface of the sphere is the same distance from the center.
Key Feature:
Faces, Edges and Corners:The normal definitions of faces, corners and edges are not appropriate for a sphere
SQUARE-BASED PYRAMID
A shape with a square base and triangular sides that meet at a point.
Key Features:
Faces 5Corners 5Edges 8
TETRAHEDRON
It has four faces which are all equilateral triangles.
Key Features:
Faces 4Corners 4Edges 6
OCTAHEDRON
It has eight faces which are all equilateral triangles.
Key Features:
Faces 8Corners 6Edges 12
DODECAHEDRON
It has twelve faces which are all regular pentagons.
Key Features:
Faces 12Corners20Edges 30
ICOSAHEDRON
It has twenty faces which are all equilateral triangles.
Key Features:
Faces 20Corners 12Edges 30
