Converse one-on-one • Turn to the person next to you. In the next 2
minutes, try and answer these questions: • What did you do over break?• What was the most enjoyable part of your break?

Skill Set #1: Taking Responsibility
Motivate Yourself• Get into groups of 4 or 5 students• Your task: Matt and Mahlet are planning to run a
marathon. Discuss how you would motivate yourself to run the marathon and how you would motivate Matt and Mahlet as well. Two students from your group will be randomly chosen to take part in the skit so be prepared! Prizes may be awarded for groups that do a good job demonstrating the skill!

Skill Set # 6: Influencing People
Sell Successfully• Get into groups of 4 or 5 students• Your Task: Pretend you are interviewing for a sales
job with Macy’s. Discuss within your group how the skill Sell Successfully can be used in a job interview. One person from each group will be chosen randomly to do a practice interview with Matt and Mahlet. Make sure everyone is prepared! Good interviews may receive a prize!

• Write down different things on a plain sheet of paper that you do on day to day basis apart from school work.
• Examples: Watch Television/F.B creep on your friends.
• Scribble on different parts of the sheet rather than making a list.

are completed proficiently by their deadlines.• Make a list of all your tasks for the day. Next rank each
