Anointing of the Sick Mass Tuesday, October 23rd, 6:30pm, we will celebrate Mass with a communal Anointing of the Sick. The Rite of Anointing tells us there is no need to wait until a person is at the point of death to receive the Sacrament. A careful judgement about the serious nature of the illness is sufficient. When the Sacrament of the Sick is given, the hoped-for-effect is that, if it be God’s will, the person be physically healed of illness. But even if there is no physical healing, the pri-mary effect of the Sacrament is a spiritual healing by which the sick person receives the Holy Spirit’s gift of peace and courage to deal with the difficulties that accom-pany serious illness or the frailty of old age. Please plan ahead and bring a relative, neighbor or friend who might join us for this special celebration.
Join us on Sunday, November 4th at the 10am Mass as we celebrate the eight people of our parish who are journeying towards the Easter Sacraments.
The RCIA is a journey for adults who are seeking to become more fully part of the Catholic Faith community. Becoming Catholic is a process. Following the second
Vatican Council, the Church recovered and developed a process used by the earliest Christians to welcome people into the local faith community, share with them the Good
News of the Gospel, and prepare them to celebrate the Sacraments of Initiation at Easter.
Our parish community is blessed with eight people who are studying, living, and journeying towards Easter 2019. The entire parish community is invited to join
them as they mark a new phase in their preparation. At the Rite of Acceptance and Welcoming, those who are papering to be baptized will officially and publicly
declare their intention to continue studying about how the Church answers the call of the Gospels. We, the parish community, will also pledge to support these people.
In the Rite of Acceptance and Welcoming, those wishing to answer God’s call are met in a special way as they are welcomed through the Church’s doors and into a
new period of study, involvement, and companionship.
An Invitation to Join our Team Saint Angela Merici has a vacancy for a Director of Music and Liturgy.
We are looking for a person with talent and enthusiasm to continue
developing and supporting the worship and prayerfulness of our faith community.
