Our rating & descriptionAs soon as you leave the main road of Valdarno turning up in S.Ellero,

you start getting the countryside scenarios of Tuscany which made you

selecting this Villa as headquarters of your holidays. Just after the last

small cottages of Donnini village, this Villa sparkles of elegant yellow in

the wood landscape.

The yellow colour dominates the image of the Villa: the countryside

around the villa is dotted with yellow too, the colours of the Roman cam-

omile, yarrow and dandelion flowers: their colours and scents crown

the other plants sweetening the strict green colour of the large woods

of the property climbing up the mountain till reaching the Pratomagno

edge.

At evening the yellow colour is spread throughout by the lights of the

old golden lamps and amplified by the festoons of crystal in the hall and

dining room.

The villa still retains the articulated architecture of a millenary history,

from the foundation as a fortified farm, to the utilisation as Benedectine

monastery and eventually to the conversion in nobleman elegant Villa

in the IXth century – lately revised in to a tourist residence. Architec-

ture, decorations and furniture maintain memory of flowing of ages and

styles.

Villia’s park originates from the XIX century renovations which changed

the estate from a farmhouse to a Villa. The arboretum is rich of non-na-

tive trees as typical of English arboretums during the end of last century.

The arboretum is in the nearby of the Villa and it is one of the most im-

portant in Tuscany together with the one in Vallombrosa. At the base of

each plant a plate reports the Italian and Latin names, the description of

the plant and its origins. The complete list of the plants of the arboretum

can be downloaded.

A wide range of documents on plant species is available for the guests

in the Villa library. The park is also rich of herbs typical of the area: Mil-

foil, Sorrel, Asparagus fern, Camomile, Sow-thistle, Dandelion, Juniper,

Mint, Calamint, Burnet.

RoomsThe Villa owes its historical charm to its variety: each room is unique,

comfort and prices to our guests.

Additional rooms are available in the farm-houses inside the Villa es-

tate.

WeddingsOnly 25 minutes far away from Florence, this Villa welcomes its guests

in uncontaminated place, marked by history and nested in the nature.

The monastery dates back to XIII century and was enlarged during XVIII

century making it into an impressive Villa whose elegant proportions

are the same as present ones.

It welcomes guests with the particular atmosphere created by its Medi-

eval cloister, its Rococo Chapel still consecrated, its the swimming-pool

with its solarium and its gorgeous panorama.

The restaurant, indoor, it’s caractherized by its refined local menu. Ev-

erything is framed by the historical park created at the end of XIX cen-

tury.
