Dr. Bérangère Magarinos-Ruchat Vice President for Sustainability Partnerships, Firmenich.

Bérangère has been the chair of the United Nations Global Compact Network Switzerland since 2011. She also sits on the Advisory Committee of the Zermatt Summit Foundation, the Investment Committee of the Livelihoods Fund and the Steering Committee of the Toilet Board Coalition. She was elected Head of Sustainability of the Year by Ethical Corporation in 2015. Bérangère holds a PhD in International Relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University, New York, as well as a postgraduate in Public Private Partnership Management from Cambridge University, and a postgraduate in Social Innovation from Stanford.

Filippo VeglioManaging Director, Global and Social Impact, World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

Filippo is responsible for the WBCSD’s work on the topics of Social Impact and the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, he manages the Council’s relationship with its Global Network of more than 60 partner organizations around the world. He joined the WBCSD in 2005. Filippo holds an M.A. in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.

Cheryl HicksExecutive Director, Toilet Board Coalition (TBC).

Cheryl is an experienced business and sustainability professional specialised in sustainable finance, and sustainable consumption, production & lifestyles (SCP). In her work with the TBC, Cheryl focuses on accelerating market-based solutions that deliver sanitation at scale by mobilizing experts across sectors. Cheryl holds a Degree in International Relations and Environmental Science from the University of Western Ontario in Canada.

Dr. Dimitrios NoukakisSenior Program Manager, Academic Partnerships at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL).

Dimitrios is responsible for developing partnerships with selected institutions across the world. He joined EPFL in November 2005. Between 1991 and 1995 Dimitrios was a researcher at Kodak Corporate Research Laboratories (Rochester, USA), at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium), and at the EPFL. In 2002, he received an MBA from the Business School of Lausanne. He holds a Diploma in Chemistry (1986) and a PhD (1991) from the University of Fribourg.

Carlos AlmasqueDirector of Household Care and Open Innovation, Firmenich.

In his work with the Toilet Board Coalition, Carlos focuses on developing fragrances that not only counteract malodor, but also that offer a sustainable, hygienic sanitation solution. He started his career in advertising, with several roles in Brand Consulting, CRM and Planning. Attracted by the possibility of designing new sensorial experiences, he moved to the flavor and fragrance industry in 2007. He has a degree in Commercial Engineering from the University of los Andes, Chile and an MBA from the International Institute for Management Development, Lausanne.

Markus Bürli Program Manager, Global Program Water Initiatives, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

Markus represents Switzerland in international organizations of the water sector and is responsible for several development projects aiming at improved access to drinking water and sanitation, as well as water for agriculture. Before joining SDC in 2007, he worked in the Poverty and Livelihood Analysis Programme of the International Centre for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) in Aleppo, Syria. He obtained an MSc in Development Economics at Imperial College London.
