BEAR LAKE PROPERTY
INTRODUCTION:
In late May of 1995, an exploration program began on the southern portion of the Bear Lake
property, funded by O.P.A.P. Work included the stripping of overburden in selected areas,
washing of outcrop, sampling and assaying rock and the mapping and evaluation of these
locations.
In total, eight selected sites were stripped of overburden, sampled and mapped in detail. Two
additional sites were also mapped and sampled. A total of 56 rock samples and one soil sample
were assayed for gold and portions of these samples were assayed for copper, silver, zinc, lead,
platinum and iron. All results are presented in this report.
Work began on the project May 27, 1995 and concluded September 10, 1995. In total, 73 days
were dedicated to this project, of which, 62 were field days.
PROPERTY LOCATION A ACCESS:
The area examined lies within the Larder Lake mining division of northeastern Ontario.
The property lies in the eastern part of McGarry tp., along the northeastern shoreline of Bear
Lake. The northern limit of the area examined occurs just north of the power line, dissecting the
property.

Access was gained by water at the Bear Lake rest area off highway #66 in Mcvittie tp. Access
can also be gained from north Virginiatown, heading northwest on a bush to Bear Creek then
heading north west to Bear Creek and following Bear Creek west to Bear Lake.
The property is within the Larder Lake Mining division, the latitude is 4829' 38" and the
longitude is 7929*39". The property lies approximately 50 km east of Kirkland Lake .
PAST WORK:
The following list outlines work performed over the eastern portion of Bear Lake, which was
covered in the geophysics survey:

Note that this work has been performed over Bear Lake itself. Many other groups and
individuals have carried out work inland and on the islands of Bear Lake. See Work
Compilation Map for details.
STRIPPING:
Overburden stripping to bedrock was possible on the property since overburden coverage was
relatively thin in most places. Stripping of overburden was carried out by hand, with the
employment of various tools such as shovels, axes, a grubhoe, a mechanical hand winch, chains
etc. Following stripping, the area was washed and prepared for sampling and mapping.
The areas of A and E had past stripping carried out on then many years ago. Much of the
material was filled in and vegetation (including medium sized trees) had grown in. Since no
record of past activity existed, it was necessary to evaluate what had been previously explored.
Stripping of overburden was carried out more than eight sites: sites A, B., C, D, E, F, G and H.
Site A consists of four sub sites: A-1, A-2, A-3, (the main area), and Site A-4, around the
prospect shaft area. Site B consisted of three sub sites, B-1, (the most southerly), site B-2 and B-
3 along the trail to Site C. Site C consisted of two sub sites: site C-1, (the main area) and site C-
2, (a small stripped area on the trail to Site D). Site D, E, F, G and H contained only one area of
stripping.
PROSPECTING:
General prospecting reconnaissance work first delineated areas that may reveal favourable results
when stripped of overburden and sampled. Prospecting revealed intense alteration zones
near sites A, B and C. At Site D alternating carbonatized and siliceous units were found when
overburden was removed during prospecting. Prospecting of site H revealed the intense
sulphides in quartz conglomerate rock. The rock type was sampled and assayed and an assay
result of .OSg/tonne. This was enough encouragement to warrant further investigation.
Post-prospecting activity in the vicinity north of site G revealed an interesting sulphide abundant
quartz conglomerate late in the program. An assay result of 222 ppb Au revealed that this area
would need further investigation. Another assay result taken in the same area at site J revealed a
similar rock type with an assay result of 105 ppb Au. Unfortunately time restrictions did not
allow further investigation of these areas but the high priority targets for next field season.
SAMPLING:
In total 57 samples were assayed for gold during this exploration program. Of these, an
additional analysis was carried out on 14 samples for other elements including copper, lead,
silver, zinc, platinum and iron content.
Most sampling on done the program was carried out following the stripping of overburden, then

the rock type was systematically sampled across the strike of the most interesting section by use
of a mechanical channel sampler. The channel sampler worked well through the softer
carbonatized units but had more difficulty in the quartz-rich units. Channel samples were taken
from sites A, B, C, D and H. Channel sample lengths varied from 3 feet to 10 feet. Other
sampling consisted of grab samples taken across interesting section of rock.
The samples were submitted for analysing in three separate groups. The last submission
revealed the most promising results. A high assay of 222 ppb Au taken at as a grab sample taken
north of site G occurred late in the program. Thorough sampling of sites A, B and C were
believed to be carried out. All results are presented in the appendices of this report.
GEOLOGICAL MAPPING:
Sites A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H received detailed geological mapping following the removal of
overburden and sampling. Sites north of Site G, Site J and site I received only preliminary
mapping. The results are presented individually per site on accompanying maps and in written
description in the contents of this report.

The Larder Lake area represented northeastern Ontario's first gold rush, with the discovery of
gold in the area in 1906. The subsequent development of the areas gold mines included the
Laguere, the Kerr, the Omega, the Cheminis, the Chesterville and the Armistices.
The area's rocks consist of Precambrian aged volcanics, sediments and intrusives. Keewatin acid
and basic volcanic flows are overlain by Timiskaming sediments, tuffs and acidic trachytes.
Mixed sediments and volcanics of Timiskaming age lie unconformably over the Keewatin
volcanics. Both series are cut by Algoman intrusives which consist of porphyries, basic syenites

and lamprophyres. Sediments of Cobalt series overlie the intrusives, volcanics and sedimentary
groups unconformably.
All pre-Cobalt strata are folded to near vertical position and are overturned in places. In most
cases, strata of the Timiskaming series face south across the entire belt, from Kenogami to
Larder Lake.
The Larder Lake break marks the southern contact of the Timiskaming series throughout much of
the area. The 'break' persists for approximately 150 miles into the Cadillac-Malartic fault
system. The fault consists of sheared and altered zones up to several hundred feet wide and
parallel shears occur adjacently to the 'break'. Talc chlorite schist marks the fault but a large
portion of the zone has been subjected to siliceous carbonate replacement. The rocks adjacent to
the fault are drag-folded, sheared, carbonatized and greatly altered.
The Spectacle Lake - Kerr Addison anticline axis runs through Bear Lake, in McGarry and
Mcvittie Tp., cutting Keewatin volcanics which lie between the north and south synclinal bands
of Timiskaming sediments. This fold pitches to the east and is cut by intrusives north of Bear
Lake.
The most important gold deposits lie along a belt of Timiskaming volcanics in the vicinity of a
strongly sheared and carbonated zone, near the 'break'. Zones of shearing and faulting unrelated
to the 'break'may yield gold mineralization, as in the case of the Thib and Laguere mines.

Gold is the only metal of economic importance in the area. The types of gold deposits known to
exist in the area include fissure or composite quartz veins; quartz stock work deposits in
dolomite; quartz sulphide deposits in tuffs or volcanics; sulphide bodies without much quartz;
gold-bearing talc-chlorite schist and mineralized dikes.
DETAILED GEOLOGY:
The entire area examined has undergone intense shearing resulting in the chemical alteration of
the rocks found here. Three separate rock sequences occur within the examined area: Algoman
felsic intrusives comprising mostly syenites and syenite porphyry; Timiskaming sediments and
volcanics - the volcanics comprising of mostly tuffs and agglomerates and the sediments
comprising of quartzites, conglomerates siltstones and chemically altered sediments of an in
determinant origin and finally the Keewatin volcanics comprised of basalts. Minor faulting and
folding occur parallel to and to a lesser extent, perpendicular to a prominent east - west shear
zone who's southern extent may be defined by a prominent contact of Keewatin basalts. This
shear zone may itself be displaced by post-faulting.
Remnants of early prospecting work on the property have revealed that the property's geological
formations have been subjected intense shearing, evidence of which can be found across the
entire length of the property, in an approximate east-west direction. Accompanying this shear

zone of undetermined length, is an acute carbonatization of rocks north of the shear, for a width
up to 50 metres. The rocks which were greatly susceptible to the carbonatization were the
Timiskaming sediments however the carbonatization also occurred in Timiskaming volcanics,
Algoman syenites and porphyries and to a lesser extent, the Keewatin basalts.
The consistent degradation of the rock across the strike of the carbonatization zone, as it
approached the Timiskaming - Keewatin contact, then abruptly ending, suggests a correlation
between the intensity of the shear and the Timiskaming - Keewatin contact. This contact may
have provided the axial plane contact for the shear. Rocks of the Timiskaming sediments were
more susceptible to chemical alteration and deformation because of their make up. The older
Keewatin unit appears relatively unaffected only ten metres from the contact. Less than ten
metres inside the contact zone, the altered basalt may combine with sediments, carbonate and
quartz to produce talc-chlorite schists. Basalts may appear generally altered near the contact,
exhibiting signs carbonatization, bedding, tuffaceous or graphitic lens and mineralization.
Subsequently Timiskaming rocks approaching the contact may appear carbonated, siliceous,
bedded, mafic-volcanic, talc-chlorite schist, granular, or totally lacking any consolidation or
generally highly altered. Mineralization consisted of pyrite, appearing as massive or
disseminated but up to 1007o in some areas. Sericitization was most evident in rocks found near
the eastern portion of the property, particularly near the southern extent of stripping of trench
A-3.

Chalcopyrite was a common mineral to see, occasionally appearing with bornite and malachite.
Occasionally sphalerite and galena were found associated with massive sulphides.
SITE A:
Site A is located at Ln 8 +50 W and stripping runs for 156 feet at an azimuth of 350. As well
four other trenches at site A were stripped. A general strike of the rock was 76 and the dip was
to the north from 76 to 88 . The entire area exhibited rocks highly altered, well carbonatized,
seritic and showing evidence of intense shearing. Near the south end of stripping, close to Bear
Lake, the contact between Keewatin basalts and Timiskaming sediments was located. The rocks
along the contact were well broken fine-grained slates and bedded tuffs. South of the contact, the
rocks became mafic and graded into a soft chloritic basalt. North of the contact the rocks
remained carbonatized throughout and well-bedded. Sericitization is most evident at the south
end of trench A-3 and continues briefly into trench A-2. Mineralization included up to l^o fine
and course pyrite, chalcopyrite blebs to massive sulphides. In and along prospect shaft A, rocks
exhibited massive sulphide mineralization, alternating graphitic units and quartz veining parallel
to strike. Further stripping to the north revealed altered Timiskaming sediments ranging from
vertically bedded tuffs, talc chlorite schists and chemically altered sediments. The highest assay
result to have come from site A was 72 ppb gold which occurred within a channel sample near
the mid point of the trench A-3.

SITE B:
Site B included three separate areas of stripping; sites B-l, B-2 8i B-3.
Site B-l was located at 100 S along line 9 W. Stripping resulted in a half-circle area of
approximately 60 feet across at its widest point. The strike of the unit was similar to that at site
A, approximately 78 with a near vertical dipping. Apart from the intense alteration through the
area, the most noteworthy item to be found here was a siliceous, carbonatized and sericitic unit,
containing up to 207o fine-grained sulphides and blebs of chalcopyrite and the occasional bornite
flake. Sulphides appeared disseminated throughout the matrix and occasionally and randomly
concentrated around the perimeter of a remnant pebble selvage. Upon close examination,
remnant pebble fragments could be scarcely made out suggesting that this unit may at one time
been a quartz conglomerate, similar to the unit occurring at site H. As promising as the rock
type looked, assay results did not support the speculation. Channel samples across the unit
revealed results as high as 12 ppb gold.
As the rock unit progressed toward the south the rock became less resilient, more bedded and
mafic. Prospect shaft 'B' was located within the Timiskaming /Keewatin contact and exhibited
much the same features as prospect shaft 'A', namely graphitic horizons, mafic altered material
and mineralization comprising of cubic pyrite, massive sulphides and chalcopyrite blebs. A

gold assay of the prospect shaft returned 40 ppb.
Site B-2 consisted of a circular area north of site B-1. Rocks here revealed intense alteration and
carbonatization. The alteration penetrated deep into the soft rock and obtaining a fresh sample
was difficult. The unit was well bedded, with deep indentations between beds. Strike varied
considerably within this unit and dip remained near vertical and to the north. Channel samples
revealed a tiger-striped carbonatized rock containing chalcopyrite mineralization. Gold assays of
this unit were elevated, as high as 54 ppb gold and copper assays were as high as 158 ppm.
Site B-3 exhibited much the same features as site B-2. The rock unit here was well-bedded and
deeply carbonatized. Cubic pyrite occurred in fine grained sediment with mafic stringers likely
composed of graphite and/or chlorite.
Shearing appears to be intense at site B than site A and the degree of alteration exhibited by the
rock reflect that. The rock unit appears mafic than at site A, more so at site B-2 where the
distance from the Keewatin contact is greater. Rocks sampled from the prospect trench at site B,
reveal the mafic influence and exhibit graphitic lens common at site A. Pyrite and chalcopyrite
mineralization can be found in the prospect shaft B and an analysis of the rock unit revealed 40
ppb Au result.

SITE C
The pervasive carbonatization continued throughout site C. Despite channel samples taken
across the stripped area, fresh samples were difficult to obtain. The strike of the rock was from
65 to 75 degrees and was quite noticeable due to the ripple effect of the surface area. Site E old
trenching heads southeast until it meets the old prospect shaft near site B. The dip remained near
vertical or steeply to the north. The rock unit appears well fractured and rubbly. suggesting this is
a result of structural stress. The rock from site E gradually grades into the mafic unit located at
the prospect shaft until it eventually resembles a mafic unit, though still exhibiting the soft
carbonated features. Alteration does appear less significant at the north end of the stripped area.
The occasional chalcopyrite bleb appeared in samples, most often near the southern extent of the
stripping. Pyrite was predominant when associated with the chalcopyrite.
A total of four samples was assayed from site C for gold and some for copper mineralization.
No significant results were obtained.
SITE D:
Interbedded felsic units of carbonatized and siliceous material dominated site D. This unit may
or may not be associated with pyrite or chalcopyrite blebs. Carbonatized units appeared more

dominant to the north end of the stripping, however siliceous units were still evident, though less
thick. From stripping at Site D, the bedrock dropped steeply in depth and emerged as a mafic
unit, dark green to grey in colour, soft and fine grained. It was categorized as a Keewatin basalt.
Sericite could be found within the carbonatized sediment units. The rock stripped here appeared
to be less susceptible to the structural effects found predominant in the sites located to the east.
A total of five samples was assayed for gold and silver mineralization. Results ranged from ^
to 15 ppb Au and Ippm Ag.
SITE E:
Site E consisted of near 80 metres of north-south trenching, running 10 metres east of line 9+50
W and 30 metres west of site D. Site E crosses three separate rock sequences, namely Algoman
syenites, Timiskaming sediments and Keewatin basalts and best reveals the relationship of these
units to each other.
At the north end of stripping, the rock type consists of Timiskaming sediments, with typical
carbonatization, and minor sericite alteration and chemically weathered deeply into the unit. The
rocks surface displayed alternating smooth, then rubbly textured surfaces. The rubbly-surfaced

rocks did appear more weathered and hematizated. Calcite and quartz carbonate veinlets ran
through the unit in various directions. Graphitic-chloritic lenses appeared and disappeared
randomly but appeared to follow the strike. Chloritic streaking, chalcopyrite blebs and intense
carbonatization appeared more predominant as the unit approached the contact between
sediments and Algoman syenite porphyries. Fine sulphides and cubic pyrite occurred within
sediment near and along the contact. Alteration of the syenite porphyries consisted of a deeper
red matrix and random pockets of fine sulphide. The syenite porphyries' matrix became lighter
as the distance from the contact increased though the sulphide pockets continued as well as the
appearance of occasional chalcopyrite blebs. Ten feet from the contact, the syenite porphyry
appeared fresh, unaltered with albite phenocrysts of '/z" diameter.
As the syenite porphyry approaches the contact with the Keewatin basalts, the rock again
exhibits a deeper brick-red matrix. Epidote inclusions appear along the perimeter of the
phenocrysts and unit exhibits a slight foliated features. At the contact location the unit falls off
deep into overburden and emerges 8 metres south as a Keewatin basalt. The basalt appears
foliated, chloritic and mottled. Cubic pyrite is dispersed throughout the unit of up to 3 mm.
The basalt quickly becomes more massive harder and more mafic as it progresses south of the
contact. Remnant pillow selvages of poor preservation may have been observed near the
southern extremity of the basalt.

SITE F:
Site F consists of predominantly of an altered fine grained quartzite. The stripped area consists
of alternating well-bedded and less bedded stratum. Quartz-carbonate veinlets of less than lcm
run parallel through the rock between beds. Fine-grained mafic streaking appears occasionally
through the unit likely consisting of a graphitic and/or chloritic mineralization. The rock unit
becomes more massive near the south end. Carbonatization was slight and sericitization
nonexistent. Alteration appeared more predominantly as chloritic inclusions and a general
chemical degradation of less resilient minerals.
Mineralization of pyrite and chalcopyrite occur within a small fracture zone running parallel to
strike along the north end of the area. The mineralization appears as fine grained disseminated
specks of pyrite and less dominant chalcopyrite. The mineralization becomes more concentrated
near along the north side of the fracture with concentrations near 2'Vo. Occasional pyrite pockets
of concentrated levels appear randomly through the unit.
The unique feature that made this site appear attractive was the distinct redness of the soil's 'B'
horizon. This is usually indicative of elevated iron levels, but could also indicate a concentration
of other mineralization. Analysis of the soil's "B' horizon revealed S.72% iron content as well as
41 ppb Au, 28 ppm Cu and 41ppm Zn. The elevated levels of gold in the soil gave a larger
concentration than the rock type below it. This may indicate that the gold levels are being
concentrated in the soil, possibly through migration of ground water, then being precipitated out
in the soil.

SITE G:
Stripping at site G occurred along an old prospect trench and extends to the south to link up with
other remnant trenching. A significant amount of material had to be removed from the trench in
order to expose the bedrock and at the southern end bedrock fell off deep. The trenching cut
across two contacts. The first occurred at the north end of the trench between Timiskaming
volcanics to the north and Timiskaming sediments to the south. The second contact occurred
between Timiskaming sediments and Keewatin basalts to the south.
The agglomerate unit appears to be mafic with shards of albite fragments throughout, only 3 mm
in diameter. As the unit nears the contact it becomes quite soft, likely caused by an increasing
amount of chlorite. The fragments become less distinct, with pyrite crystals 2 mm in diameter.
Here the unit appears massive and basaltic, then eventually grades into a granular brown
sandstone material, badly altered and very soft. The unit dives deep into soil and emerges 5
metres to the south as a carbonatized, fine grained, chemically altered sediment with no
mineralization. This unit first appears massive but eventually exhibits bedding then grades into a
bedded carbonatized quartzite. Pyrite and chalcopyrite appear occasional throughout this unit,

with concentrated levels occurring near the central portion of the trench. The alteration of the
quartzite increases as the unit progresses south to near the contact with the basalt. The quartzite
becomes beige in colour and courser grained. The pyrite contained in the rock unit becomes
sparser and finer grained. At the contact, the rock units meet sharply with little degradation,
especially of the basaltic unit. Near the contact, the basalt is somewhat chloritic with thew
occasional cubic pyrite, but within a metre away appears as a massive dark grey basalt. The
basalt immediately dives deep into the overburden as it nears Bear Lake.
Although gold levels were elevated to as high as 41 ppb, the most significant assay result did not
occur within the trench. A random sample taken from an old trench approximately l O metres
north of the north end of the trench returned a 222 ppb Au. This occurred in an altered
conglomerate, containing up to 4a7o sulphides and a significant amount of chlorite. This rock unit
outcropped near the north end of the trench and was 15m along strike of the J-1 assay of 105 ppb
Au.
One other assay taken at a trench east and north of the 222 ppb Au assay result, revealed 10 ppb
Au.

Site H is located on the south end of the clearance of the hydro line, near line 11 W. It consists of
a contact separating a fine grained quartzite unit to the north and a coarse grained quartz
conglomerate to the south of the stripped area. At the contact zone a vertically bedded tuffaceous
unit separated the two, which is slaty, thinly bedded and a badly rubbled-texture. The significant
gold values occur within the quartz conglomerate unit and gold values range from
179 ppb to 8 ppb. This rock unit contains a significant amount of sulphides, predominantly
pyrite and chalcopyrite of up to 5"Xo. The mineralization occurs within the matrix, within the
pebbles and is concentrated around the circumference of the pebble selvage. There does not
appear to be a clear distinction of the amount of sulphides being proportional to the gold value,
though higher gold assay values were obtained samples containing greater than 2Vo sulphides.
The concentration of sulphides diminishes to the south as the stripped area progresses into the
bush. The rock unit then becomes carbonatized and softer prior to disappearing into overburden
at the southern extremity of stripping. The unit reappears 15 metres to the south briefly, appears
to exhibit some carbonatization yet lacks the sulphide content. A further 30 metres to the south
syenite porphyries appear. The unit can be followed 10 metres to the east and not at all to the
west as basal conglomerates appear along a predicted strike.

DETAILED GEOLOGY:
SITE I:
Site I occurs just east of 11+50 W and 15 m N. It consists of a quartzite unit, fine grained and
containing 2^o sulphides. Pockets of concentrated fine-grained sulphides occur through the unit
with sharp contrast of concentrated and barron varying amounts. Assay results of 26 ppb Au and
30 ppm Cu was found. Old trenching occurs near the stripped area and revealed much of the
same findings. Bedding of the unit is slight and a strike of 770 and a steep dip of 850 were
found.
SITE J:
Site J contained two contact zones running parallel to strike through the area. The most northerly
contact contained occurs between Timiskaming volcanics and sediments. Predictably, the
volcanics appear to be very little altered by the contact, granted the transitional zone of
approximately 5 metres was obscured by overburden. They appear fresh, with no mineralization
or alteration.
The Timiskaming sediments are comprised of carbonatized quartz conglomerate that appears
highly altered. It is soft, well bedded and pebbles are near incomprehensive. The unit contains
up Wo sulphides, comprised mainly of pyrite and chalcopyrite. Bands of malachite straining
could be seen through some samples. The sulphide occurred disseminated through the rock and
as chilled margins around remnant pebbles. As the unit progressed to the south the pyrite, the

evident of quartz appeared to diminish and was replaced by carbonate. Samples became highly
carbonatized to the point where it was difficult to obtain fresh specimens. The sulphide appeared
consistent though other minerals were replaced by cubic pyrite. An old trench appeared to
continue to the contact with syenite porphyry. Overburden in the trench was deep and it is
unknown if it is possible to follow the unit to the contact.
The syenite porphyry appears fresh, orange to deep red with occasional cubic pyrite and sharp
fragments of albite, 2mm in diameter. It appears massive and unaltered throughout.
MINERALIZATION:
Consistent elevated gold and copper values occur throughout the shear zone. Occasional three
digit gold assay values in ppb do appear near the western portion property. These values appear
to be related to bands of quartzite or quartz conglomerate units which appear to fade in and out
along strike. It is unknown whether this is one unit offset by fault displacement or a
discontinuous separate zone. This unit was encountered at sites D, E, possible F, north of G, at
H, possible at I and at J, despite some of these sites located off strike to one another. High assay
values have been found in rocks that contain at least 20Xo sulphides however it is uncertain
whether sulphide content is directly proportional to elevated gold values, since some samples

containing significant sulphide content, (ie H-5, G-2) did not return elevated levels. On the other
hand, some samples, such as sample B-5 (54 ppb Au), contained very little pyrite, some
chalcopyrite and lots of carbonatization, returned an elevated level of gold.
The presence of structural activity, occurring through less resistant rock and along contacts is
likely a significant factor in the gold level of the rocks. High gold levels have been found near
and along highly altered zones. Samples containing higher gold levels appear to contain a
critical level of alteration. Samples to the eastern portion of the group contained a significant
amount of alteration, that was perhaps too much to maintain an elevated level.
High than background levels of gold, found in the 'B' horizon of soil at site F seems unusual.
The gold may be trapped by the soil from a nearby source. Higher elevation levels may be the
source of their response.
CONCLUSION:
As a result of the 1995 exploration program, several noteworthy points of interest were found.
They are:

west direction, across the entire property, consistent with strike.

samples from the eastern half of the claim group contained significant sulphides, sericite
and carbonatization to appear attractive yet gold values reached only 72 ppb Au, with
most samples less than 20 ppb Au.
significantly higher gold values were found to occur toward the western portion of the
group; specifically between site G and J, where values were 222 ppb Au.
high gold values were found to occur within bands of quartz conglomerate and quartzite
that appeared throughout the western portion of the property, not consistant with strike.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Most exploration work carried out relative to this report focussed on the eastern portion of the
property. As assay results became available, significant results were found to occur within bands
of high sulphide zones of quartzite and quartz conglomerate rock types. Both rock types are
essentially the same, apart from the inclusion of pebble material.
The limitations of budget and time prevented further exploration activity dedicated to the western
portion of the group.
It is therefore recommended that diligent exploration work continue to the west from site G.
Systematic stripping of overburden and analysis of bedrock should progress in zones of high
sulphide areas within quartz-conglomerate and quartzite areas. The use of a beep mat may help
delineate these areas in thin overburden.
The use of channel sampling equipment is recommended as a thorough means of obtaining a
consistent sample across bedrock. Due to the erraticness of the gold values, care must be taken
to analyse an entire section. It was found values can rise and fall within a few metres.
Bear Lake property appears to merit continued exploration activity. Gold values appear
consistently elevated. Future attention should be given to follow-up work on quartz
conglomerate and quartzite horizons containing high sulphide content.
