ICT Spreadsheet modelling

In this week:

The students of year 5 created a spreadsheet table, using Micro-

soft Excel 2016, they studied and practiced the following:

The meaning of spreadsheet.

New vocabulary (Spreadsheet – Data – Workbook– Work-

sheet–Column – Row – Cell –Active Cell – Formula bar –

Name box)

Launch Microsoft Excel 2016.

Rename the sheet.

Merge cells.

Format text.

Enter data.

Adjust column width.

Adjust row height.

Format cells (insert borders – fill cells with colours)

Create a formula.

Format cell Number.

Create Column/ Pie charts using the spreadsheet table.

Save the project.

Next Week:

The students will use Microsoft Excel in creating a database

representing the “A budget for a birthday party”.

Humanities

This week the students re-capped the information they learnt about the Mis-sissippi River and started to figure out different ways to control river floods. By next week it is expected that they identify different ways used to take measure-ments of rivers and get in-troduced to the features of different seasons. (Subjected to change).
