FLMS at a Glance

Shoreline Enhancement Award

Program

FLMS sponsors an annual Shoreline Enhancement

Award, open to all lakefront residents in Florida.

Awards in the amount of $200 are given to projects

that combine a beneficial native, aquatic plant habi-

tat with simple stormwater treatment techniques.

Love Your Lake Grants

FLMS has developed a cost-share program to help fund lake,

pond and shoreline projects that fulfill the Society’s mission

statement. Each year, several awards are given based on

demonstration of project merit. Funds come from proceeds

from the annual conferences and are just one of the ways

FLMS helps promote the health of Florida’s aquatic resources.

Student Sponsorship

A core part of the long term sustainable management of

Florida’s aquatic resources is the education and support

of tomorrow’s professionals. Each year, FLMS provides

financial support to students wishing to attend the sym-

posium by covering registration and travel expenses. A

student social is also held at the beginning of each sym-

posium to provide students with an opportunity to inter-

act with other Florida water resource professionals.
