RECENT CHALLENGES FACING OUR CLIENTS AND HOW WE HELPED…

Sustainable cost reductionTo free up capacity and reduce headcount this public sector client had to first identify and remove non-value adding activities and streamline the remaining activities. Our role was to identify inefficient practices and hand-offs between teams, and then to work closely with client staff to implement changes in a sustainable way. Our structured approach was important to secure buy-in to the initiatives.

Inefficient and high cost processFor an international provider in the travel and tourism sector, we undertook a supply chain project to streamline operational costs and simplify the process. We helped by applying our proven approach and working with the client team. This project successfully led to significant cost savings in fuel costs and a reduction of low value adding activities.

Unmanageable and costly organisation structureIn a tough trading environment, this retail sector client needed to design a new operating model to reduce staff costs together with improving service levels and performance of staff. Previous attempts had been unsuccessful and so our BPI team were asked to help. Our methodology and expertise helped to pragmatically develop and implement a new organisation design to meet the requirements of the organisation and embed good practice design principles.

Poor management information, reporting errors and delaysA long standing client of ours, a leading international player in the financial services sector, faced continual challenges to develop highly efficient MI to meet a wide variety of evolving business needs. Our approach was to leverage the client’s deep knowledge of their business combined with our expertise. We undertook multiple projects each with clear deliverables and tangible benefits. These benefits included significant reductions in the time required to produce the reports and an increase in the depth of analysis.

Need to better manage projects and changeAs a high profile in-sourcing initiative neared a key milestone, the project board at this power sector client required assurance that all was going to plan. We applied our Project Healthcheck tool (based on PRINCE2 techniques) to quickly assess and highlight project status, and then worked with the project team to pragmatically address priority issues and transfer knowledge.
