Third Sunday of Easter “Bring some of the fish you just caught…And none of the apostles dared to ask Him, “Who are you?” because they realized it was the Lord.” John 21- 8-14

Do you enjoy fishing? Some people say that they enjoy fishing even if they don’t ever catch a fish. I have heard some people say they enjoy it because it is peaceful and relaxing to fish. Maybe that’s why Simon wanted to go fishing. But imagine, fishing all night and not catching a single fish. Then someone on the edge of the water tells you to cast your net on the other side. Would you say, “That’s the craziest thing I ever heard. What difference does it make which side of the boat I fish from?” The disciples did it! They caught so many fish that they couldn’t even pull the net into the boat. One hundred fi y-three large fish. Reflec on: Even though there were so many fish the net was not torn. The bounty of this catch of fish portrays that God will provide His disciples with what is needed as they go out to feed the people. What abundance there is in the Kingdom of God! If we think of the net as the Church, we see it is such a wide net that all of us can find a place with-out tearing its fabric.

The love of the Risen Christ has an endless capacity for holding together all who find their way into His network of love. QUESTION: Can we do the same for our hearts? Is there room in them to welcome with love all who come into our lives? How o en do we withhold the nourishment of me, a en on, and affec on, pleading that we barely have enough to feed ourselves? LIVING THE FAITH: Keep alert this coming week to the ways God’s goodness is there “at hand” for you to share. Don’t miss out on the wonderful blessings that Jesus want for us. PRAYER: Father, we know that you have wonderful blessings in store for us when we faithfully follow our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our prayer is that we always be obedient disciples. Amen.

During the month of May we remember our blessed Mother, Mary, and our own mothers in a special way. We ask for your help for the pregnant mothers in diffi-cult circumstances who come to The Women’s Center for assistance so that they may enjoy many Mother’s Days with their children. SEEKING DONATIONS: We are in of 5 infant car seat/carriers, also 4 car seats for 20 to 40 lb. (by law all car seats must be less than 7 years old), 4 exersaucers, 3 baby carriers-(front and back), 5 strollers, 2 double strollers, 4 umbrella strollers, and 3 high chairs. We need baby food (in date), Emfamil formula). Also need-ed are diapers in sizes 5 and 6 only, girls summer clothes in sizes 2 and 3, infants sleepers and onesies in sizes 6 and 9 and boys clothes, sizes 7 and 8. We are also in need of new pacifiers, baby bo les, baby wipes, baby shampoo and lo on and breast pumps. These items can-not be picked up unless accompanied by baby furniture.
