Flyer Electric is proud to be part of the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association (SCSA). We have worked closely with SCSA over the years to develop and maintain our comprehensive safety program. We have applied for and will soon receive our COR Certification, and we are also registered with IsNetworld. The end result? A very clean track record of safety.

Electrical, instrumentation, and automation design. Design-build systems for all buildings from residential condo projects to heavy industrial electrical and control system.

Commercial and industrial electrical construction and maintenance. All forms of construction projects from new construction, to renovations, to underground installations, to grounding systems, to hazardous location installations, etc.

Automation and controls integration. Commercial and industrial automation of equipment, safety systems including electrical safeguarding and warning systems, early warning systems for maintenance and pre-failure alarms, etc.

Fire Alarm system installation. New system installation on new construction as well as system retrofits and code compliance upgrades, flame detection systems, spark detection systems, hazardous location installations, gas monitoring and alarms, etc.

Testing, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical and control systems. Problem solving, inspection of existing controls for functionality and quality, repair and upgrade system components as required.

Instrumentation. Electric valves, nuematic valves and controls, stainless steel piping, flow meters, pressure transmitters, level indication and transmitting, radio communications for status and remote operation of equipment, etc.

In the past 30 years, we’ve completed a wide range of design, construction and maintenance of many commercial and industrial sites across Saskatchewan, with projects ranging from basic engineered construction camp to a large design-build potash mine expansion construction project.

POTASH STORAGE EXPANSION AND TAILINGS PIPERACK REPLACEMENT.

Design-build a complete electrical system and a complete automation system.

Flyer Electric was commissioned for the design, engineering, construction, and pre-commissioning of a new automated potash storage and reclaim facility in eastern Saskatchewan. During all phases of the project it was necessary to coordinate with the structural, civil, and mechanical trades and design teams to ensure a professional installation for the client. The entire project was governed by strict specifications for the harshest environment, as well as an in-depth quality control and assurance program developed specifically for the project.

Electrical System

15kv – 600v – 120/208v, 3 phase power distribution systems.

Building and area lighting systems designed to specific lighting levels.

Small power system, including all convenience receptacles, cable schedules, wiring diagrams designed to owner specific requirements to facilitate maintenance activities.

Emergency lighting system, including complete UPS power supply, full area lighting throughout the building, and exit signage.

Cable tray systems, including all supports required to meet cable fill requirements, as well as supports to withstand full load capacity of the cable trays.

Grounding and bonding system throughout the building and surrounding the structure.

High voltage cable installation and splicing – complete replacement of existing cabling system with minimal shutdown time allowance, quality controlled installation c/w testing.

Quality control system throughout each step of the process, complete with ITP and signoffs.

Automation System

Multiple conveyor systems interconnected c/w emergency shutdown controls, remote operation, PLC control, all fully automated.

Product reclaim system, including complex intelligent slide gate actuators, managing actuator feedback, position indication, torque control, etc, all remote operation from central control room.

Ultrasonic product monitoring for volume as well as product dump positioning to maximize building storage capacity.

Systems monitoring, such as substation and UPS status – ensuring notification prior to potential failures.

Control systems cabling replacements and splicing – complete replacement of control cabling with minimal shutdown time allowed, quality controlled and tested with no tolerance for error.

Development functional description for complete system including all safeties required – document development detailed specifically for PLC programming.

Suite wiring complete from rough in to completion, including independent heating and cooling, safety features such as “one switch” lighting shutdown (one switch can shut off all lights in the suite), complete kitchens, laundry, telephone, data, television, and fire alarm systems for every suite.

Elaborate fire alarm system throughout the building and each suite.

State of the art commercial kitchen, c/w fire suppression system throughout and advanced exhaust and ventilation system.
