why it is SO important to always be testing and trying new strategies. To helpyou with this, I have put together this list of 30 tips to improve your socialmedia marketing!
1. Incorporate images – always, always, always. We know that images resultin increased engagement and conversions. So use images in your postswhenever possible!
2. When sharing videos on Facebook, use Facebook’s native video uploaderrather than YouTube for increased views and engagement on Facebook.
3. Try a variety of content types, including links, long-form narratives, images, video, questions, etc. You never know what will work best withyour audience until you try it!
4. Schedule your social media posts: Use a tool like Hootsuite or SproutSocial to schedule your posts. Consistency is key with social media, andscheduling your posts can be a huge help.
5. Analyze your Facebook Insights to see what types of posts result in thehighest engagement with your audience. Once you have figured out whatyour audience likes, post more of it!
6. Always use a call to action (CTA): Regardless of which platform you are

using, it is important to always use a clear CTA. Let your fans andfollowers know what you want them to do next!
7. Be authentic: Stand out from the competition by being honest, real andtransparent. For more on this, check out my new book, Will The Real YouPlease Stand Up: Show Up, Be Authentic, and Prosper in Social Media.
8. Make sure your profile photos represent your brand: This means no blurryor unfocused images, no group shots and please, no bathroom selfies!!!
9. Build relationships with brand advocates: Spend some time nurturingrelationships with your “super fans” and they will continue to sing yourpraises and help you grow your online presence!
10. Achieve #1 rankings on Google using Pinterest: Here’s how!11. Stop being overly promotional: You can promote your services or
products on social media, but do so sparingly. Social media is aboutbuilding trust that ultimately leads to sales….not constantly trying to sellto your followers.
12. Use Post Planner to find viral images to share.13. Be responsive: Tweeting, pinning and posting aren’t enough. Read and
respond to comments and questions in a timely and professional manner.14. Learn and implement strategies for getting more retweets: Such as using

mentions within your tweets, optimizing your tweet length and usingimages. For more easy strategies for getting retweets, download my freeeBook, 23 Quick & Easy Ways To Get More Twitter Retweets.
15. Make sure your LinkedIn page is complete and up-to-date: This isparticularly important if you are a B2B company. This will be wherepotential customers or clients go to find out more about you so makesure it accurately represents you and your business!
16. Recycle your content: Share your social media content at various timesand on different networks to reach new followers and increase socialsharing.
17. Add value: Sharing other people’s content isn’t enough. Add your owninsights to the conversation, and build your reputation as a go-to expert inyour field.
18. Periodically run a 15-minute social media audit to ensure you are usingsocial media effectively.
19. Use social media to drive people to your email list: Your email list is yourmost valuable online asset, so make sure you are using social media as away to grow your subscriber base.
20. Take some time to create a customer persona: A persona is a fictitious

person who represents your ideal customer or client. Target all your socialmedia posts to this person to increase relevancy.
21. Use Twitter Lists to build relationships that turn into sales.22. Be consistent across your social media accounts: Your images, colors and
voice should be consistent no matter which platform you are using.23. Focus on helping your followers: Rather than thinking about what you
want to say to them, think about what they NEED to hear. Help them solvea problem, answer a question or give advice to help them reach theirgoals.
24. Think about how social media fits into your marketing funnel: How will allyour efforts on social media help you accomplish your marketing andsales goals? Spend some time figuring out how social media fits into thebigger picture.
25. Use relevant hashtags so people outside your current sphere of followerscan find your tweets, images and posts.
26. Find out what people are saying about your business by monitoring brandmentions using a tool like Social Mention.
27. Be personal: More and more, people want to buy from people they knowand trust, not nameless, faceless brands. Share personal stories and

opinions from time to time to show there is a real person behind yourbusiness.
28. Always respond to mentions and tags: Social media is a two-way street, somake sure you are monitoring and responding when someone calls youout!
29. Focus on your most productive channels rather than spreading yourselftoo thin: If you are feeling overwhelmed by social media, choose 2-3networks you can focus your energy on, rather than doing 6 poorly.

Hey Kim,
This is a great list to improve your results with social media. Out of all ofthem I think numbers 9 and 19 are the most important.
I found that my results have been getting better by just connecting with otherbloggers of similar niches. I build rapport with them on social media, moreso on twitter, and with this I’m etched into their memory banks.

Also you it’s also a great idea to leverage social media to generatesubscribers and leads. Like they say, the money is in the list and what betterway to utilize social media than to direct them to your opt in forms.
Thanks for the share Kim! I hope you’re enjoying your weekend!
