Show the blank paper,put it on the panel, close the wallet, andit takes your picture. If you want to havemore fun, cut out a picture of a monkeyfrom a magazine. Have this under thepanel.Have another blank piece of paper thesame size. Tell an friend. I can take yourpicture by just using your fingerprint. Putyour finger on this blank piece of paper.After he does this, put the paper in thewallet. Change the picture to the monkey.Everyone will laugh. Its not a greatpicture, but there is a resemblance. (Besure you do this for a friend with a goodsense of humor. You dont want to insultanyone.)

Cut the otherone into five or six pieces like a jigsawpuzzle. Show the pieces and explain.Jigsaw puzzles are fun, but they takeso long to put together. Put the piecestogether on top of the panel. Close thewallet and turn it around. I like thingsto happen faster. Thats why Im amagician. Look. All together again. Openthe wallet, show the restored card.Carefully pick up the wallet with yourthumb and forefinger pressed around thepanel so that no pieces will fall out asyou put the wallet away into your pocket.

Secretly attach two quarters with a bitof wax to the secret panel of theWondrous Wallet. Fold a dollar bill in halfand put this on top of the secret panel.Close the wallet and turn it around.Everything is now hidden under the panel.Leave the wallet open on your table. Nowshow a piece of blank paper, the samesize as a dollar. Fold it half and put it onthe blank flat side of the wallet. (Thesecret panel is at your left.) Close thewallet and turn it around. When you openit, the dollar will show. It is hiding thequarters. I always carry paper aroundin case I need some money. Show thebill you have printed. Remove the billwith your right finger, at the same timeclosing the wallet with your left fingersin order to hide the quarters. Open thewallet again and two quarters haveappeared. Wave the bill over it. and itsgood to have some exact change too.Open the wallet to show the coins.

And last, but notleast, number five. Show the last acethe same way you showed the seven. Liftit but do not turn it over (it is really thedouble-facer). Turn your left hand up andslide the card under. The EffectYour hold a coin in your hand one moment,and then poof its gone. It seems thatit has vanished in midair!The SecretThe coin vanishes, all right.right upyour sleeve. A secret gimmick quicklywhisks it out of your hand and hides it.The PreparationThe prop used for this trick is known asa coin pull. It is made of a length of elastic,a safety pin, and a small metal clip.Thread one end of the elastic throughthe hole in the clip. Tie a firm knot in thisend, a knot that is larger than the holein the clip. Pull on the inside of the clip.After you have attached the clip asdescribed, thread the free end of elasticthrough the small loop of the safety pin.Knot the elastic to hold the pin securelyin place at the end (Fig. 1). Attach thesafety pin to the inside of your jacket,just below the right arm hole so the cliphangs in the sleeve. The end of the clipshould be positioned about three inchesabove your cuff. If the clip hangs too lowor too high, adjust its position by raisingor lowering the pin. Before you perform,put some assorted coins in your pocket(half dollar, quarter, nickel).The PresentationSecretly pull clip out of your sleeve. I need a volunteer to select a crayonfrom this box of crayons. I will identifythe color selected, without looking at thecrayon, by using my magical ability toread mind. Who will volunteer to helpme? Turn your back to the audience andthe volunteer. Put your hands togetherbehind your back. Ask the volunteer toselect a crayon, show the crayon to theaudience, and then hand you the crayon.Without letting anyone see you do it takethe crayon and quickly scrape thethumbnail of your left hand on the crayonwas. Props:four sugar cubes, one teaspoon of salt.

Another great, yet easy to master trickwith sugar, is the following illusion. Beforeyour audience arrives, place four cubesof sugar in a row on a table. Secretlysprinkle a bit of salt on the top of eachcube of sugar. Then say. I need someonefrom the audience to help me performthis trick, a spectator who doesnt believeI can read their mind. When the audiencemember comes up to the table, hold bothof the spectators hands in your handsand say the following spell: Hocus.Pocus. Zippidy. Zee. I want the sugar, totalk to me. Now tell the spectator thatafter you turn you back to the table, thespectator must turn one of the sugarcubes over, letting the rest of theaudience see just which sugar cube over,the salt will spill off. But dont worry, thissalt wont be noticed because the sugarand salt look alike. Then you turn aroundand tap each sugar cube to see wherethe salt is missing. As you tap the cubes,say: Abracadabra, let me see, just whichsugar cube, will speak to me .

Peut importe quel lapin lespectateur choisira, dites: "Vous voustrompez, cest la maman". Prenez lelapin qui reste de la main droite. Placez-le avec le lapin ainsi que la maman lapindans la main du spectateur. Il aura trioslapins dans la main, mais il nen aura vuque deux. "S.V.P. fermez la main et serezfort. Les lapins sont formidables. Un papaet une maman lapins se sentient seuls.Alors quest-ce que vous croyez quil leurfaut? Un bb lapin. Wave the wand over the cone,then remove the cap and pour the saltfrom the wand into cone, then removethe cap and pour the salt from the wandinto the cone. Cap the wand. Open thecone and the salt is gone again.

When you hold the hat with your righthand, with the wide part facing down, thebottom falls and the secret compartmentopens (see Drawing No. 1) .When you hold the hat with your left hand,then the wide part is facing up and thesmall bottom closes the opening of thesecret compartment, and then the hatlooks like an ordinary hat, with a boring,ordinary bottom (see Drawing No. 2).Practice well the transfer from one stateto the next, so that you will be able tocontrol the secret opening without theaudience noticing.Never allow the audience to see thebottom when the opening is open.Practice situations of laying the hat onthe table with the secret compartmentopen/closed as you wish. Here you see me putting a longthread into the hat, and I'll even put myassistant, the rabbit in it... What?" tiltyour head to listen to what the rabbitsays. "He says it'll take some time.You pass the time with a few stories orwith a short magic trick, and then you goback to the hat and pull out the piece ofcloth held in the rabbit's paws.

You replace the thread with the cloth inthe same way you did with the previoustrick.

30.Le chapeau dutailleur

Description du tour de magie :Vous dposez un long fil dans lechapeau, attendez un peu puis vousen sortez un morceau de tissu.Accessoires :Un long fil, un morceau de tissu, unlapin, un chapeau de magicien.Prparation :Placez le morceau de tissu dans ledouble fond.Prsentation : Il y a quelques annes que jai reuce chapeau, il a log chez un tailleur,dans une petite ville et ce tailleur lui aappris certaines astuces de son mtier.Je fais entrer dans ce chapeau un longfil et mme mon assistant, le lapin,que dis tu . Prtez loreille ce quedit le lapin. ll dit que cela prendra unpeu de temps .Vous faites passer le temps enracontant lhistoire du chapeau ou avecun petit tour de magie puis revenez auchapeau et en sortez le morceau detissu, tiss par le lapin.Pour remplacer le fil par le tissu, utilisezle tour prcdent.
