ITINERARY DETAILS

Day 1: Arrival to San Jose Intl Airport & private transfer to Bajos Del Toro.

• Welcome to Costa Rica! A Lifetime Vacations representative will meet you and greet you at the gate of the Airport, to proceed with your private transfer to the unique and beautiful region of Bajos Del Toro, where El Silencio Lodge is located.

• The Bajos del Toro area is what we can call an “off the beaten path” touristic area of Costa Rica, a super beautiful and unique place surrounded by mountains that will make you feel like you are in one of those really rare places that sometimes you see in postcards of places around the world; or in another planet as some people have told us in the past… The fact of the matter is that Bajos Del Toro is an ideal place to see those natural wonders that make Costa Rica a famous touristic destination around the world, featuring lots of gorgeous waterfalls, huge mountains covered with jungles and a very pleasant temperature that remains very cool during most of the year.

• Upon arrival to Bajos Del Toro, check in at El Silencio Lodge (other hotels available upon request). El Silencio Lodge is one of the most unique accommodations in all Costa Rica, completely apart from all the crowded touristic attractions and towns. Your accommodation would be in a riverside suite with breakfast included (upgrades available upon request), king size bed and 2 twin sofa-beds; private outdoor heated whirlpool, complimentary Wi-Fi, electric heaters and private deck with rocking chairs. One of the things we like the most about this hotel, is the fact that it has its own natural trails, where the guests could hike to 3 beautiful waterfalls immersed in the rainforest, one of them by the way, is considered by us as one of the most mystic and beautiful

waterfalls you can find in all Costa Rica.

Day 2: Waterfalls in the cloud forest tour.

• On this tour your guide will show you many aspects of our Cloud Forests; and will take you to observe 3 amazing waterfalls immersed in the jungle. This natural experience takes place in the grounds of the hotel, where you would walk for about an hour on a beautiful well-maintained trail next to the Gorrion River, until you reach the first waterfall called “Melodia”. Then you would walk a little further up to admire the “El Silencio” waterfall and at the end you will see the really tall “La Promesa” waterfall, a 55 meters water drop (160 feet), in a very mystic setting, definitely a place that you will not forget about your journey in Costa Rica.

Day 3: Private transfer to the Rio Celeste rainforest area.

• Around mid-morning your own private vehicle will pick you up to take you to the unique Rio Celeste area, known all over Costa Rica because of its rare and beautiful Blue River. On the way there, we’ll make a few stops for you to take pictures of the beautiful Arenal Volcano area (weather permitting), and to look for wildlife in some places where we normally find it.

• The Rio Celeste area is located on the foothills of the Tenorio Volcano National Park, a region of the coun t ry tha t doesn ’ t p resen t too much development, which helps to keep the natural beauty of its landscape. The main attraction here is the Blue River or “Rio Celeste” which is called in Spanish, a very special river that starts off as a regular clear water stream at the top of the volcano, but about half way down the mountain it turns blue because of a chemical reaction with the minerals coming out of the ground. Besides the Blue River, the whole area is very natural, keeping a deep green color year round, including the forests at the Tenorio Volcano National Park.

• Upon arrival to Rio Celeste, check in at the Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel. The Rio Celeste Hideaway is one of the most unique boutique hotels in all Costa Rica, mainly because the famous blue river

crosses the property and because it’s next to the Tenorio Volcano National Park, an area that it is completely covered by lush rainforest and where is common to see wildlife. Your accommodation would be in a casita forest with breakfast included (upgrades available); A/C, mini fridge, cable TV, spacious bathroom with hot water, Jacuzzi, private garden with outdoor shower, safety box and coffee maker. This luxury hotel also features swimming pool, restaurant, bar, spa and rainforest nature trails.

Day 4: Blue River tour at Tenorio Volcano National Park.

• On this tour to the Tenorio Volcano National Park we’ll take you to visit the famous Blue River, one of the most interesting natural wonders of the country. This is a hike that lasts for about 4 hours, in which we will show you the diverse flora and fauna of the rainforests of this particular area; but our favorite part of the trip is to show you the specific place where the river turns blue, known as “Los Tenideros”, which is due to a chemical reaction between the volcanic minerals and the water of the river. On this hike we’ll also take you to see the gorgeous blue waterfall, as well as the amazing blue lagoon, where you will be able to admire the contrast of the blue water and the lush-green rainforest surrounding it.

Day 5: Private transfer to San Ramon.

• Around noon your own private vehicle will pick you up to take you to the beautiful and unexplored San Ramon Cloud Forest area.

• The San Ramon Region is a beautiful natural setting located up on the mountains of the Costa Rican continental divide, a gorgeous cloud forest area sort of like the famous town of Monteverde, but more intimate and with no crowds, since tourism has not being fully developed here yet. The temperatures in San Ramon are very pleasant all year round, ranging between 12 and 25 degrees Celsius (50 to 80 Fahrenheit), making it one of the coolest places in Costa Rica, the perfect place for a romantic getaway or just to take a break from the main touristic areas and fully enjoy of a peaceful natural setting.

• Upon arrival to San Ramon, check in at Villa Blanca Cloud Forest hotel. Villa Blanca is a very unique hotel that was built to imitate a 19th-century Costa Rican mountain village, an excellent lodging facility that has very well maintained gardens surrounded by the cloud forest of the “Los Angeles Biological Nature Reserve”. Your accommodation would be in a honeymoon suite with breakfast included; fully stocked bar, ceiling fan, complimentary coffee, whirlpool bath, terrace, wood burning fireplace, Wi-Fi and living room. Also, this hotel features a restaurant, bar, nature trails, farm with activities, biological station, private theater, TV room and Spa.

Day 6: Private transfer to Santa Teresa via car-boat-car.

• Today’s transfer is very unique, because you will be crossing the beautiful Nicoya Gulf by boat on your way to the sunny Santa Teresa Beach. In the morning, your private driver will pick you up at your hotel in San Ramon to take you to the town of Jaco, where you will board your shared boat to Montezuma Beach. In Montezuma, a private driver will be waiting, to then take you to your hotel in Santa Teresa Beach.

• The Santa Teresa region is one of the least explored coastal areas of the Nicoya Peninsula and Guanacaste beach destinations. We love Santa Teresa because it still keeps that unique feeling of the small Costa Rican coastal towns, with limited development, no large resorts around and with abundant dry tropical forest vegetation everywhere you look. The main attraction of Santa Teresa is its beautiful white sand beaches surrounded by nature; as well as the nice waves for surfing and the many neat rock formations that can be found along the entire coast line, which during low tides, form several natural ocean pools where one can just sit and relax while taking the sun.

• Upon arrival to Santa Teresa Beach, check in at Flor

Blanca Luxury Beachfront Resort (other hotels are available upon request). Your stay at Flor Blanca will really give you the feeling that you are in Paradise, because of its location in the middle of the tropical jungle and the best beachfront location on the gorgeous white sand beach of Santa Teresa. Your accommodation would be in a superior one bedroom villa (upgrades are available upon request); with air conditioned bedroom, king size bed, living area, hammock, Wi-Fi, stocked mini bar, safe deposit box, plush bathrobes. Also, this resort features a waterfall swimming pool, restaurant, bar, spa, beach chairs, opened air yoga studio with free yoga classes, pilates studio with free pilates instruction, fitness center; complimentary surf boards, beach cruisers, boogie boards, snorkels and masks.

Days 7th & 8th: Free days to relax at Santa Teresa Beach.

• These days of your Caribbean & Pacific Beaches Vacation are free for you to enjoy of the beautiful Santa Teresa Beach, the hotel’s pool or to book some additional activities. Some ideas for things to do are: surfing lessons, Cabo Blanco Reserve tour, Curu Reserve tour, stand-up paddling, sport fishing, Cabo Blanco and Montezuma Waterfalls tour. Please let us know if you would like to add any of these activities and we’ll be happy to coordinate them for you, the idea is for you to relax and enjoy of your vacation, we can take care of all the logistics for you.

Day 9: Private transfer to San Jose via car-boat-car.

• Early in the morning your private driver will pick you up in Santa Teresa to take you to Montezuma Beach. Once in Montezuma, you will board a shared boat that will take you to the Jaco Beach area, where your private driver will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel in San Jose, where you will spend the night before going back to your home.

• Upon arrival to San Jose, check in at Grano de Oro Hotel (other hotels are available upon request). Grano

de Oro is actually one of the architectural jewels of San Jose, a Tropical Victorian mansion that keeps the warmth and comfort of a private home with all the amenities of a fine hotel. Your accommodation would be in a standard room with breakfast included (upgrades are available upon request); A/C, free wireless internet, flat screen cable TV, private bath, coffee maker, hairdryer, ceiling fans, electronic security box and telephone. Also, this hotel features a very good rated restaurant and bar.

Day 10: Good bye Costa Rica.

• Time to go back home. Your own private transportation will take you to San Jose International Airport for your returning flight.
