2tto on a trip to Nemo

On Saturday the 2nd of April, in their own free time, 2 tto went to Nemo. Nemo is a science

museum. It was during the Museum Weekend and Nemo was completely mathematically

orientated. That made this a nice opportunity for the mathematics teacher to take his class to

this nice museum. The students wrote reports about the trip and you can find them here:

GROUP OF NETHERLANDS WENT TO NEMO 02-04-2011

Hi everybody,

Saturday the 2nd

of April we, as the group of Netherlands, went to Nemo. There was a special

Mathematic Activity.

Here is a small summary:

There were a lot of things to do and to watch. There were lots of computers in the building,

and there were questions that could show how smart you are in mathematics and questions

like “Do you’ve got eyes in your back?”, you had to answer the questions and at the end the

computer would say if you were correct.



Some of them haven’t had to do anything with mathematics, but still they were funny to see.

Like this ball of glass with beams, if you touch the ball at a certain place, all the light beams

were going to your hand.

There was also an activity about “Action Is Reaction”. Well I have a video about it, but I can’t

put it here…

Our trip came to an end, so we returned back…

Nemo

We went to Nemo on Saturday 2 April. We went there and took a puzzle to fill it in, it was a

really nice puzzle. In Nemo there were many things to do. You could for instance go and

see a chain reaction or go and do some experiments in a lab. It was really nice to be there. I

think this museum is one of the nicest museums in The Netherlands!

Nemo

We went on Saturday 2 april to Nemo. It wasn’t really fun, because i had bean there already

before. The onlything that i liked was a simulator where you can drive like a drunken man.

There was also a chainreaction. That was a nice but it was still the same as 2 years ago.

Science Center Nemo

Nemo is a nice place for maths, but with a lot of fun. There are 4 flours with Different parts.

A lot to learn and a lot of fun and the slogan of nemo is don't stay away from the stuff with

your hands. It is a kind of museum but you may touch everything. There is a presentation of a

chain reaction every half an hour were they use different objects that fall down after

eachother. We went to Nemo on a sunny saturday. At the end of the ''tour'' we sat on the terras

with a nice vieuw of Amsterdam.

On Saturday the 2th of april we went with our class to NEMO. We were there at 10 o’clock

and left at 12 o’clock. At that day NEMO had as theme mathematics. So there was a route

about mathematics with exercises about mathematics. But there were also the normal

activities. You could see much, about electricity, inheritance, nature phenomena and force for

example. It was fun.

2nd of april we went to the nemo. I didn’t like it so much, because there wasn’t a lot of things

to see. It was a workshop about mathematics. There was also fibonacci method.

We also saw a chain reaction and it was no so nice,because I expected more things than I saw.

There was also a lot of things with video games which I liked it most.

Most attractive was the shock-place.

NemoTrip

We had to gather on Lelylaan at 9:00. We took the tram to Nemo and got there at 9:45. But

the Museum didn’t open until 10:00. So we had to wait 15 minutes but luckily we could enter

the museum. First I went to the electric glass bowl. That was my Favorite thing in Nemo.

Then I looked around with Ismail. We looked to a lot of nice things and also a show, The‘KettingReactie’. It was a nice show. It was about action and reaction, cause and result. They

started with a little kid who pushed a piece of wood and they fell on a couple of other pieces

of wood like a domino. Then something flew this way en something flew that way and the

whole room was a mess and finally a rocket was shot in to the air. We stayed a couple of

hours in the Museum. We agreed to meet each other at 12:00, at the entrance of the museum

so we could leave. Then we got back to Lelylaan and everybody went home.
