LINKING VERBS

The job: A linking verb links the subject to a word that either describes the subject or gives the subject another name. It states that something “is” or “exists”.

A verb is a linking verb if: it can replace one of the verbs of being (am, is, are, was, were) and make sense.

Ex: We were nervous. Nancy is an author.

John looked sad. The soup tastes delicious

3)Form up as many verbs within the given time (5 minutes)

4)Write down the verbs formed on a piece of foolscap paper

Round 2

Instructions:

1) Pick out another 5 consonants and 3 vowels

2) Form up as many verbs within 5 minutes

3) Write down the new verbs on the same piece of foolscap paper

4) Total up the number of verbs

5) The group with the most number of correctly spelt verbs win.
