technical visitsEnterprise Command and Control Centre (EC3)RTA’s futuristic new command hub EC3 started operations in Dubai in May 2017. The EC3 is geared towards operating a "streamlined transportation requirements of around 25 million visitors in 2020. With at least 3.5 billion journeys expected across Dubai by 2020, the Roads and Transport Authority's (RTA's) Enterprise Command and Control Centre (EC3) is now live to handle present and future transport challenges.
Dubai Water CanalDubai Water Canal is an artificial canal unveiled on 2nd October 2013 and inaugurated on 9th November 2016. It comprises one shopping centre, four hotels, 450 restaurants, luxury housing, walkways and cycle paths.

DUBAI - UAE: HOST NATION FOR EXPO 2020The established event will take place at the World Trade Centre in the Expo 2020 host city Dubai. The city will host the first world expo to take place in the Middle-East Africa or South Asia. Dubai World Trade Centre is the region’s largest purpose-built complex for events and exhibitions. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) seeks to develop and manage integrated & sustainable roads & transit systems to bring them to world-class standards. It is also focused on delivering pioneering services to beneficiaries with a view to making them happy and supporting the vision of Dubai. The RTA endeavours to achieve these objectives through shaping the future, developing policies & legislations, keeping pace with technology & innovations, and adopting top global practices & standards.
Over the past decade, the public transport sector in Dubai has witnessed an upswing involving the construction of the Dubai metro and Tram projects and overhauling public transport with state-of-the-art buses featuring the best international specifications. It has also revamped the marine transit systems through the deployment of an array of new transit modes comprising the water bus, water taxi and ferry.
Public transit systems are the backbone of people’s mobility in Dubai and the preferred mobility option of a large chunk of Dubai’s residents & visitors. The share of public transport (metro, tram, buses and marine transport) in the people's mobility has soared from 6% in 2006 to 16% in 2016. The RTA is seeking to push this rate to as much as 20% by 2020, and 30% by 2030.
