ASSESSMENTS:
Best if you are able to do them in a lab setting. Will take students 25 – 45 minutes to complete.Assessment is only available to the student when they login to Istation while at school.
What to look for to know students are in an Assessment: Grades PK – 3 – ISIP Early Reading Test Indicator (Bottom Right)Grades 4 & 5 – ISIP Advanced Progress Meter (Bottom Left)
Assessments are adaptive. Students begin at their enrolled grade level.

During the comprehension section of an assessment students cannot go back to the passage. Reason: Istation is authentically measuring whether a student can rely on his/her own working memory.
Teachers can login to Application as a student and take the assessment as themselves.
TIERS:Tier 3 – 0 – 20th Percentile - Students performing seriously below grade level and in need of intensive interventionTier 2 – 21st – 39th Percentile - Students performing moderately below grade level and in need of interventionTier 1 – 40th – 100th Percentile - Students performing at grade level
Ability Scores:Grades PK – 3: 3 digit numberGrades 4 & 5: 4 digit number

Students will not advance in instruction until they demonstrate MASTERY!
Recommended usage:Tier 1 – 30+ minutes per weekTier 2 – 60+ minutes per weekTier 3 – 90+ minutes per week
*Allow at least 20 minutes per session. If less than 20 minutes, students will not complete and record an activity.
REPORTS:
1. ISIP Summary Report- Run report monthly immediately following completion of assessment- Students are classified by Tiers- Bar Graph shows Summary of Class – Overall and by skill- Can click on Tiers in bar graph for a listing of students with scores/tiers for that area (By Quarter)- Bottom of report shows each student and their ability score and tier for overall and each skill

ISIP Priority- Run this report weekly- Students are grouped by Need- Report provides prescribed lessons (Top of report, open in .pdf format)- Click on + beside student name to go into the Student Intervention History where you can add intervention notes (an audit trail of teacher documentation).- Identifies Critical Intervention Students – at or below the 10th percentile
3. Istation Reading Student Summary Handout - Current Cycle- Results on latest assessment (Percentile Ranking and Ability Score for Overall and each skill)- Program Usage- Grade Equivalent- Priority Report Overview at bottom – with legend to show areas of difficulty or struggling.
**Reports can be customized. Edit month to print report for. Change from English to Spanish.

Login Cards – Can print login cards with username and password for each studentOn Demand Assessments – Can assign the ISIP assessment either in entirety or by subject area at any time during the month. Areas that are highlighted in orange are those that are adapted down in ability and suggested for this student. Assignments – Teachers can create individualized assignments for one or all students in their class. Assignments are available to student at school or at home. Great way to focus on identified areas of weakness for individual students. Enable Parent Portal – Teachers must enable the Parent Portal for students to be able to access Istation from home.
