Application: /Factory sealed enclosures are installed in arigid metallic conduit system for^aurfacemounting adjacent to or remote fromequipment being controlled and are used:• to prevent arcing of enclosed device fromcausing ignition of a specific hazardousatmosphere or atmospheres external to theenclosure• in industrial areas such as chemical plants,oil and gas refineries, paint and varnishmanufacturing plants, gasoline bulk loadingterminals, grain elevators, grain processingindustries, coal processing or handling areas,or metal handling or finishing areas whereatmosphere may contain hazardous gasesand/or dust• in non-hazardous areas where sturdy,durable enclosures are required• in conjunction with magnetic starters orcontactors for remote control of motorsManual motor starting switch enclosures areused:• for manual starting of small ac or dc motors• to provide manual starting and stoppingand, in the case of units with heaters, motorrunning protection
