PUSH-IN FITTINGS

Push-in fittings by Metal Work are the best elements forconnecting pipes and actuators.Quick and easy to use, the Metal Work push-in fitting canbe re-used thousands of times without affecting thepneumatic and mechanical seal in any way. It comes invarious configurations and guarantees a virtually unlimited,highly flexible use. The clamping spring with its specialshape grips the pipe without scratching or deforming it,which facilitates release.In the fittings, the release bushing has patented screwdriverslots to facilitate release in applications not accessible tothe fingers. Configurations RL19, RL21, RL22, RL23, RL23M,RL24, RL44, and RL49 (except for Ø5), have a ring for fixingto the wall asymmetrically in order to contain the head ofa screw within the overall dimensions of the fitting.

GENERAL FEATURES

All fittings have cylindrical threading andincorporate a O-ring (Metal Work patent).The use of an O-ring considerably improvesthe seal of angled, rough, and slightlyconvex surfaces. Teflon (PTFE) is no longerused.

Mounting fittings with an Allen wrench orpneumatic tool. All the elbows and tees arerotary. Drastic reduction in assembly times.

A single tee can give central tees and lateraltees.

The pipe is easy to assemble by pressinglightly on the pusher ring. To remove thefitting, merely push radially on the key.

• Four basic fittings can be used to make all possible connections in a pneumatic circuit.• Sharp drop in the number of fittings to be stocked and hence reduced operating costs.

FROM A SYSTEM, INNOVATION

An Allen wrench is used to assemble rotaryfittings even with very close centre distances.

The special configuration with two O-ringsallows maximum orientation so as to followpipe movement in the specific application.

Fittings with a built-in gasket and reducedheight (H) with the same threaded couplingand pipe diameter.

SERIES F PUSH-IN FITTINGSFOR USE IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY

The materials of which these fittings are made can be usedin the food industry. The brass parts are chemically treatedwith phosphorus nickel-plating according to theNSF®/ANSI 51 standard of the food programme. The sealsare made of FDA-approved FKM/FPM. There is notechnopolymer in the fitting, which solves the problems ofincompatibility with detergents and other chemicals. With thesematerials, the fittings can be used up to 150°C, which makethem suitable for high-temperature applications other thanthe food industry.The threads are cylindrical and under-head O-rings providea pneumatic seal. This avoids the need for sealants (e.g.Teflon®), which could release solid fragments during screwingand unscrewing that would contaminate the environment orthe fluid. Our fittings can be screwed and unscrewed anynumber of times and still remain clean and pneumaticallysealed.This choice of materials and treatments make these fittingssuitable for use in the chemical, pharmaceutical, medical andelectronics industry.A standard range of fittings is available, but other designs canbe developed on specific request.

Line on Line is an exclusive range of products for mountingon pneumatic circuits. With these small, highly efficientcomponents it is possible to perform all pneumatic functionsat any point of the circuit.Line on Line is ultra-modular - the components can beconnected in parallel, in series or combined parallel/series.All Line on Line products are available for pipe-pipeconnection with two push-in fittings, or for thread-pipeconnection with a brass nickel-plated male thread and apush-in fitting.The body is made of technopolymer, giving a product thatis extremely lightweight and compact.One side of the body is marked with an indelible pneumaticsymbol to facilitate identification and indicate the directionof flow.

The RLF R flow micro-regulator belongs to the LINE ONLINE® family and can be connected in series or in parallelwith all the other products.The RFL R regulates the air input and thus the speed inpneumatic actuators. Two versions are available:• Type U (unidirectional) regulates the flow only in one ofthe two directions of air flow. The following types of fittingcan be mounted:- Push-in input and output fitting- Push-in input fitting and threaded port on the exhaust(cylinder type)- Input threaded port and push-in fitting on the exhaust(valve type)• Type B (bidirectional) regulates the flow in both directionsof air flow. The LAM L pneumatic light indicator belongs to the LINEON LINE® family, which means it can be connected to allthe other components in series or in parallel.Available in the version for pipe-pipe connection with twoFOX push-in fittings, and in the version for thread-pipeconnection with a brass nickel-plated male thread and apush-in fitting.When there is no pressure, the clear technopolymer belllooks empty. When there is pressure, a red signal appears.The clear bell can be cleaned using normal detergents orethyl alcohol, as the technopolymer used is fully compatible.

SOV L solenoid valves belong to the LINE ON LINE® family,which means they can be connected to all the othercomponents in series or in parallel.Available in the version for pipe-pipe connection with twopush-in fittings, and in the version for thread-pipe connectionwith a brass nickel-plated male thread and a push-in fitting.Though small in size, SOV L valves are solenoid-pilotedand feature very high performance.The spool distributor is fitted with special polyurethanegaskets to ensure a very long working life.Each valve comes complete with a monostable manualcontrol and LED.Exhaust can be damped with an annular silencer or conveyedvia a pipe fitting. The fitting for conveyed exhaust can beoriented freely.

COUPLINGS Series ICS

The mould conditioning coupling wasspecifically designed to speed up andfacilitate the replacement of moulds ininjection moulding machines. Rapidmould changeover can be easilyobtained by fitting a female body atthe end of the pipes conveying thethermoregulating fluid and a malecoupling to the moulds. With thisconfiguration, each mould can beconnected and disconnected from thethermoregulation circuit rapidly. Thepresence of a female coupling with asafety valve on the pipework preventsthe outflow of fluid when coupling withor releasing from the mould.

WITHOUT SAFETY VALVE - A version having a female bodywithout a safety valve is available for when a high flow rate isrequired. This version allows a greater thermoregulator fluid flowrate but does not act as a fluid check valve when coupling withor releasing from the mould.

GENERAL FEATURES

Female body plus conventional hose fitting(pipe locked with metal circlip).

Female body plus self-locking hose fittingpatented by Metal Work. When the outerring nut is tightened, the gripper locks onthe pipe.

The male fitting should be coupled withthe mould so that it remains embedded(Fig. 2-4). This saves space and protectsthe coupling. The mould has no projectingparts, which would occupy more space onthe storage shelving (Fig. A).

The Extension (see A25 fittings) is availableas an accessory. It is extremely useful whenparts inside the moulds need to bethermoregulated or when the presence oftrucks makes it impossible to connect themoulds to the rubber pipe. (Fig. B).

FLOW MICROREGULATORSNEW SERIES

The job of flow microregulators is to regulate speed in thepneumatic cylinders.The configuration of both type C (to be mounted on thecylinder inlet) and type V (to be mounted on the valve port)is such as to ensure full flow on feed and regulated flowon discharge. Type B (bidirectional) can be used to regulatethe flow both on feed and discharge.Flow microregulators are divided into 4 series:• MRF COMPACT O: can be adjusted using a screwdriver;the regulation pin is lubrified with a particular antivivrationgrease; it has reduced dimensions and fine adjustment inthe first turns; adjustgment can be prevented by assemblinga disposable cap (supplied separately) that can be removedusing a tool.• MRF COMPACT N: can be adjusted using the knoband/or screwdriver; adjustment can be prevented bytightening the ring nut; it has the same regulation curve asthose in series O.• MRF HIGH-FLOW: can be adjusted using the knoband/or screwdriver; adjustment can be prevented bytightening the ring nut; it is ideal for use in installationsrequiring high flow rates both on regulation and discharge.Available in 1/8” and 1/4” and with a technopolymer ring.• MRF PUSH-LOCK: it is the only one in the MRF serieswith a PUSH-LOCK knob, that can be replaced by an anti-tampering knob (supplied separately). Available in 1/8”and 1/4” and with a technopolymer ring.

All the MRF with a pipe engage-release system of the latestgeneration that facilitates detachment of the pipe even underdifficult operating conditions.

The rings can be rotated even with the MRF installed, which meansthat they can be mounted with the pipe facing towards anydirection.

Special focus has been placed on miniaturisation of the components(mainly for COMPACT MRF series O), which saves considerablespace.

The regulation curve in the MRF series HIGH-FLOW is dividedinto 3 sections: regulation is particularly accurate along the entireflash pin stroke and the maximum flow rate is reached at a goodsteady rate; in this way, the user can choose the solution whichbest fits the specific application.

The regulation curve in the MRF series COMPACT N, COMPACTO and PUSH-LOCK takes place in two sections: in the first halfof the flash pin stroke for very fine regulation and relatively lowflow rates; in the second half, the flash pin quickly opens thepassage so as to reach the maximum flow rate quickly.

A major innovative aspect of the new MRF is the possibility ofusing the PUSH-LOCK series that can be mounted with either apush-lock (A) or an anti-tampering knob (B). The push-lock knobprevents decalibration of the MRF due to vibration or incorrecttorque. With the anti-tampering knob there is no way to changethe position unless you remove the knob using a special tool.

All the new MRF can be fixed from the top using a universalwrench, a pipe wrench or an automatic screwer.

The RMV-series miniature pressure regulator with pressure gauge for valvesis specifically conceived for mounting on the outlets of valves with a 1/8” port.With limited cross dimension, it can be fitted to a series of small valves. Thebody is 16.5 mm wide and fits exactly on the valves of the Mach 16 seriesfor multiple electrical connection.Using the RMV, it is possible to differentiate the pressure of each single outputof the valves. For example, if you mount it on port 2 and not on port 4, thepressure can be reduced on port 2 only. If you mount one for each port, thepressure on port 2 will differ from that on port 4, which in turn is less thanthe feed pressure (outlet 1).There are three 1/8” threaded RMV ports that are pneumatically connectedin parallel. A small pressure gauge is mounted in one port; another port isplugged by an A7-type fitting and a third can take a fitting. The user, however,can decide whether the layout of components is to be modified or not. Hemight, for example, decide to mount three fittings to create a three-portreduced-pressure distributor.For information please see pag. 2.1/108.

Pneumo-bus is an integrated connection system betweencompressed air treatment units, valves and accessories.The system includes a Skillair 200 air treatment unit version andone for the Multimach valve islands arranged for direct fitting tothe Teseo.AP 25 profile pipe. These Teseo patented aluminium profile pipesare known for their rapid installation time, for the numerousaccessories. The profile is symmetrical, can be used on all sidesand is easy to cut and bend. The new arrangement system forMetal Work products therefore reaches interesting objectives:• Valves and units fitted directly to the pipe which acts both asa robust mechanical support and an air supply.• The elimination of all polyamide pipes and their fittings andassembly.• The 25 mm. passage hole guarantees valve supply with reducedpressure drop and also acts as a pneumatic “tank”.• It is possible to install a second pipe, parallel and adjacent tothe first one, to convey air to the exhaust, connected directly tothe Multimach exhaust port.• It is also possible to fix a conduit for electric cables to the pipe.
