Special Guest Speaker: Off the Cliff - Overcoming Fear and AdversityIndisputably one of the top in the world in his fi eld and past winner of the Red Bull Cliff Diving championship, Queensland’s international cliff diving champion (and stunt diver) Joey Zuber typically dives from 24 to 28 metres (79-85ft) above the water, hitting the drink at speeds of over 100kph - and he does an intricate series of somersaults, twists and pikes on the way down! The element of danger is unavoidable and in 2008 Zuber felt its full force when he snapped his femur in half during a cliff dive in Columbia. Following a seven-and-a-half hour operation, renal failure which almost killed him and many hairy days in ICU, Zuber fi nally began his long recovery process. Six operations later Joey is now on the road to recovery and is planning his return to Columbia to dive there once again.

SAP Project System and Primavera - The Best of Both Worlds?

The effective planning and management of plant outages with CS Energy is seen as fundamental to the business’ success. In the past the management of the outage schedule has been limited due to the divide between the resource and cost management system (SAP) and the schedule management system (Primavera). The integration of SAP Project System to Primavera is seen as a critical step in providing the right information to effectively manage these high cost/short execution time events.

• Use of the SAP Project System for outage development and scope integration

• Using the Project Builder for budget development and reporting

• Using Primavera for schedule development and reporting

• Passing of work and schedule information between SAP and Primavera (two-way data transfer)

• Using 3rd party reporting tools (Qlikview) for a complete picture

This is a non-technical presentation focusing on CS Energy’s approach to integrating two key outage management information systems.

11.40 Portfolio Management - How Can it Benefit Your Business

Whilst many Australian businesses appreciate the benefit a Portfolio Management process and tool would offer their business, most struggle to understand how to gain the maximum from their investment.

To meet the long and short term objectives of your business, you need to manage portfolios, projects and operations holistically and efficiently. This management typically involves five basic activities: strategic planning; resource planning; schedule planning; cost and profitability planning and control; as well as the information transparency that enables management oversight. Resource and Portfolio Management (RPM) is a solution that combines complementary SAP applications and components that support better execution of each of these activities.

• What RPM can do for you

• The functional aspects of RPM

- Strategic planning

- Resource and schedule planning

- Cost and profitability planning and control

- Information integrity and transparency

• How the industries are using RPM effectively

• What are the key benefits, learnings and challenges of implementations

Keynote Presentation: SAP Portfolio Management (PPM) - Managing the Global Capital Project Portfolio and Approval Requests

Many capital-intense companies use SAP to manage capital projects and budgets but struggle with visibility across the entire portfolio of projects. In addition, it typically takes many weeks or months for manual approvals to route to all the project signatories. See how the entire project approval lifecycle, from submittal through approval through additional funding, can be integrated directly into the SAP Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) solution. Also learn how PPM can integrate with the Investment Management (IM) module such that the entire annual planning and budgeting cycle can be integrated into one single web/portal user interface.

• Using the PPM module to manage the entire capital lifecycle from long-term planning to daily project execution

• Automated project request and capital approval using PPM workflow

• Integration with Investment Management and Project System

• A single inventory of capital projects and expenditures across the globe

• Intelligent project dashboards with exception reporting capability

• Forecasting and projections

This is a non technical presentation focused on how to practically use PPM for Capital Accounting and Project Management.

10.40 SAP Contract Lifecycle Management - the Good, the Bad and the Ugly

With audit and risk considerations driving much of governance, SAP Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) provides a simple contract management system and repository front-end to assist in meeting the director’s needs. It is one of the easiest pieces of SAP software to install and get started. However, as a business tool it has limitations. The ‘basic’ product has been stripped down to a contract management system and the project functionality that comes with the premium product is largely missing. This presentation covers the implementation of the basic product.

• SAP CLM - an introduction

• Onboarding - easy implementation

• Functionality - is the basic system or premium product right for you?

• Implementation - pilot or big bang?

• Using the system to provide assurance to the directors on an outstanding audit point

• Focusing the business on active management of the contract portfolio

• Realising the software selection process could have been better with a tighter match to identified business needs

• The use of a pilot implementation should have been considered earlier

• The implementation has gone ‘well enough’ largely due to the project sponsor giving time to allow extra functionality to be obtained from SAP

• Substantial involvement in the delivery of Wave 7

Breakfast Session: SAP Mobility - Getting the Right Functionality to the Right Person, Wherever They Are…

Most companies are only just beginning to truly experiment with how they can design entirely new ways to work, with mobility at the centre.

Current business processes assume people are tied to their desktop. This is no longer true. The majority of people - your employees, your customers, your partners - are now mobile. As more workers become mobile, you need to ask yourself:

• At a fundamental level, why do we exist as an organisation?

• How can mobility solutions help us do what we do better?

• What are the five highest-priority services we deliver to our customers?

• Can we deliver them better, faster and/or cheaper by mobilising them?

• What simple tasks do business people perform frequently currently tied to a PC?

• How would the organisation benefit if instead they could do them anywhere at any time?

John Goldrick - Solutions Manager - Mobility, SAP Australia Pty Ltd

Come and join us for breakfast and participate in the session to learn about the future of SAP Mobility. To register for this session, please indicate your attendance on your registration form.

Integrated Workforce Scheduling and Capacity Planning with SAP PS, PM and Multi Resource Scheduling (MRS)

Ausgrid (formerly known as EnergyAustralia) distributes electricity and provides energy services to over 1.5 million homes and businesses. A significant component of business operations involves managing a large, multi-skilled workforce for the construction and maintenance of the assets.

The Distribution Operations & Reliability (DOR) division of Ausgrid has taken the opportunity to customise and pilot SAP MRS to enhance workforce scheduling functionality. This pilot has utilised MRS as an integrated resource scheduling platform, sitting across the Project System (PS) and Plant Maintenance (PM) modules as a replacement for the existing Primavera system.

This presentation will give you an insight into the business processes for Work Scheduling and Capacity Planning within the Field Service Groups of Ausgrid’s DOR Division. It will then outline how MRS, PS & PM are being used in this environment to meet both the short term work scheduling and work delivery requirements as well as the longer term skill and capacity planning requirements in the pilot region.

Some of the change management challenges Ausgrid encountered in migrating users from Primavera to SAP/MRS will be covered as well as some of the benefits that they have experienced in working on one platform and the alternate options that were considered prior to the pilot rollout in interfacing Primavera with SAP.

By understanding the business driver for change, the organisation made a broader change to implement SAP for a complete Asset Management Solution.

• Overview of Ausgrid and what DOR field services do

• Business process for Work Scheduling and Capacity Planning and business roles involved in the process

• How SAP PS, PM & MRS are used together to plan and managing the diverse range of works

• Change management challenges, benefits and alternate options
