Combination Right Angle Transfer Case
Description: The Model 279D combines the Right Angle draw works drive with the
Transfer Case and Rotary Table drive in one package. This combination
reduces space and mounting requirements. The right angle drive is air
engaged as are the disconnects powering the rotary table and drive line
output.
Input: Top shaft - 2.75-10 spline, Maximum 16,000 lb-ft input torque, Spicer
1880 series drive flange P/N 8-1-27510
Output: Right angle - Air engaged, opposite the input shaft 1.00:1 ratio with an
extended 3.625 diameter shaft with (2) 0.875 x 0.438 x 6.0 keyways for
the draw works drive sprocket. 11,500 lb-ft maximum torque.
Middle shaft,- Rotary table drive, air engaged disconnect, opposite engine
rotation, 1.1489:1 reduction. 16,000 lb-ft maximum torque. Spicer 1810
series Bearing Plate Yoke P/N 6.5-4-1901
Rear axle disconnect - 0.9787:1 (1.0217:1 speed increasing) Air engaged
disconnect to the rear axles. 16,000 lb-ft maximum torque. Spicer 1710
series Bearing Plate Yoke P/N 6-4-4551
Center distance: 26.015 inches transfer case, right angle shaft end 43.06 from input.
Housing: Cast Ductile Iron.
Lube: 75W-90 GL-5 Synthetic gear lube, 26 quarts. A gear style lubrication
pump mounted on the intermediate shaft provides positive lubrication to
the upper bearings through a remote mounted heat exchanger.
Switches: Packard Weather Pack switches contacts closed when disconnects are
engaged. Requires Packard Weather Pack connectors12015792, Terminals
12089905, and seals 12015359.
Mounting: (4) 1.0-8 x 2.0 mounting holes front cover. Three 1.0-8 x 2.0 tapped holes
on both sides and a 10.000/9.995 diameter pilot on the right angle snout.
Size: 47.25 high, 52.865 wide by 45.3 long.
