Highlights UNHCR/Yemen Red Crescent combine to meet much of the needs in Amran Oxfam, UNHCR and Al-Atef combine to serve the most vulnerable in Hudaydah. Wahj Alhayat Foundation, NRC and UNHCR are active in Hajjah. UNHCR has trucks standing by to serve Marib City and Sirwah. Situation Overview Heavy rains on 13 and 14 April caused floods and lands slides. The floods have affected more than 4,000 HHs and caused damages to houses, crops and vital infrastructure across the country with water cutting off roads and sweeping away food stocks, household furniture, vehicles and livestock. Cluster agencies started delivering assistance on 15 April and are continuing aid deliveries and assessments. Response & Coordination AMRAN: NRC completed the distribution of the second tranche of NFI kits on 18 April taking total distributed to 400. UNHCR implementing partner Yemen Red Crescent (YRCS) distributed NFIs to 265 families/1,958 Individuals on 17 April in Amran city. YRCS carried out further distributions on 18 April - NFIs to 166 families/1,503 individuals and Emergency Shelter to 39 families/200 Individuals. YRCS/Amran distributed shelter items/NFIs to 45 displaced families who are currently staying in seven schools as well as As Sa'ar complex in Amran City YRCS also distributed shelter items/NFIs to 15 families currently staying in temporary shelters (damaged shelters). HUDAYDAH: During the evening of 15 April MSF completed distributions at some of the worse affected villages in the Wadi Moor area. 250 Hygiene, shelter and cooking sets were distributed in the 4 villages of Al Edah, Dair Al Boni, Al Barshish and Buit Al Najar: UNHCR’s first NFIs and shelter response to 346 household consisting of 1,686 individuals in Az Zuhrah district is planned to take place on 18 April. UNHCR prioritises IDPs who lost their houses (IDPs with totally destroyed houses they will be targeted with tent and NFIs and partially destroyed houses will be targeted with NFIs and shelter kits). Oxfam is distributing plastic sheeting as part of a wider response including WASH interventions. MSF/Spain sent trucks this morning to Shares district and is targeting 250HHs with shelter kits, cooking sets and hygiene kits - Shers AlKubri, Shres Asfal, Shers AlAla, Biet Godam.

YRCS report delivery of relief and shelter items (20 tents, 100 blankets, 100 mattresses, 20 kitchen sets, 20 jerry cans) within Shares district

NRC has 190 NFI kits readily available. NRC team is coordinating with UNHCR and other partners on the ground to agree on the geographical location for distribution.

NRC also has 400 NFI kits in pipeline which could be mobilized within 4-5 days. Coordination with the partners in Hajjah is on-going to agree on the exact geographical location for distribution.

UNHCR stands ready to contribute shelter kits and and tents to the response. ZOA (INGO) stands ready to provide support in Sharas district with over 1,000 Mattresses and over 3000

Blankets MARIB:

Sirwah district: YRCS report that an estimated 1,600 existing IDPs are affected by the floods. Areas include: Lafj Almelah, Alsawabain, Arak, Alharf, Alrawdhah, and all areas in Dhanah valley.

UNHCR report that trucks destined for Marib and Siwah have been blocked by bureaucratic impediments and now the trucks are unable to reach the area from Sana’a because of flooding and damaged infrastructure. UNHCR is investigating possible routes from Aden but still do not have permission to deliver vital aid.

SANA’A Amanat Alsimah branch of the Executive Unit has completed the needs assessment in Dharawan area,

Hamadan district in Sana’a Governorate on 16 April. ExU has shared a list with the names of 68 families on 17 April 2016.

National Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Response (NFDHR) will conduct verification and assess additional affected families reported by IDPs community representatives.

ADEN: Oxfam report that flooding occurred in Al Breqah districts where it is estimated that 200 HHs are affecte UNHCR report that there is damage to some houses and electricity grid in Al-Mualla and Craiter and
