Dear Potential YFC Volunteer-

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Youth for Christ. We look forward to learning

more about you and discerning where you might best fit within our organization. Due to the

fact that we work directly with children, we take very seriously the process that it takes to

volunteer with our organization. Thank you in advance for taking it seriously as well.

YFC New Volunteer Process:

1. Complete a YFC Criminal Background Check and Application

2. Read and sign YFC Standards of Conduct and Living the Life of a Leader

3. Initial interview with Leadership Development Director (Hannah Hutton)

4. Complete Online Training

a. YFC 3 Story Training

b. YFC 5 Essentials Training

c. Armatus Abuse Avoidance Training

5. Agree to a term of service (usually 3-9 months depending on the ministry site)

6. Meet with Ministry Site* Coordinator

7. Once the above steps are completed and ministry site placement is determined—you

may begin working with kids at the ministry site level.

Expectations of a YFC Mentor :

1. Actively participate in 3 out of 4 programming nights per month and an additional

training as needed

2. Arrive on time to adult leader meetings (1 hour before programming)

3. 2X per month (or more) invest in a teenager by spending time with them outside of

programming

4. Recruit 5+ prayer partners to pray for the ministry site needs

5. On average a mentor is asked to invest 5 to 7 hours a week (this includes leader

meetings, weekly programming, and time investing in teenagers outside of

programming)

*Ministry Site=Parent Life, Band of Brothers, Braid, Wheels, Hoop Time, Portable Vision,

Portable Audio, YFC Core

$25 processing fee: Includes Application, Background Check, Interview, Online Training

and Placement

*If you are placed successfully as a ministry site volunteer, the $25 processing fee will be

gifted back to you.

Statement of Faith

All of our staff and volunteers must affirm our Statement of Faith as follows:

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the infallible authoritative Word of God.

2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and

atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal

return in power and glory.

4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.

6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are

lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ.
