23rd Sunday of Year B 5th September 2021 ! Welcome to our Parish Newsletter. It is great to see so many have now returned to Mass. We have taken great care to ensure that everyone is safe in church, so we encourage everyone to come to Mass. The obligation for Catholics to attend Mass in person remains suspended…for now. Those at home can join us for Mass by watching live-streaming via www.churchservices.tv May They Rest in Peace. Recently Deceased Liam Logue, aged 79, late of Rannoch Way whose funeral is on Thursday 16th September at 10am. Tommy Lyons, late of Taunton Avenue whose funeral is at St Brendan’s on Friday 17th September at 11am. Hugh Murphy, aged 75, late of Manor Drive whose funeral is on Thursday 30th September at 10am. Ann Cheatham, late of Drield Grove, died during the height of the Covid Pandemic and like many others could not have a Requiem Mass. A are welcome to Ann’s Memorial Mass, 11am, Friday 24th September. Want to book a Baptism or a wedding? Please see the priest after Mass; he will give you a form which once complete, please

return to our Secretary Maggie who will provide you with a date and time. Currently, we have a lot of bookings for Baptisms so we

are celebrating them on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

It’s Time to Enrol for First Holy Communion 2022

If your child is in School Year 3 or over, we are enrolling now. Simply drop an email to Maggie at our [email protected]

Then Maggie will reply with an email including a form to fill in requesting details of school, date of birth, place of baptism etc etc. Once you have returned that form by email you will be on

our list of candidates and Maggie will send you details of the Enrolment Service, probably on a Saturday morning in October.

Don’t miss out: we close applications at the end of September.

NB Enrolment for Confirmation 2022 (for those in current school Year 6 and over) will be announced next month.

40 Hours De vot ions : S t Brendan’s Church 22nd -24th September concluding with Friday e ven ing Ma ss a t 7pm. Come and pray before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

On Friday Canon Michael took over as Vicar General, taking on Diocesan-wide responsibilities as 2IC to Bishop David. The job will involve much work outside of our Corby parishes. Meanwhile he is taking his belated summer holidays, leaving the parishes in the capable hands of Fr Sujith for a couple of weeks.
