Kens Pen Dear Bethany Family, I want to make you aware of two upcoming opportunities for all of us to reach out to others with the love and the gospel of Christ. We will reach out to our neighbors in our community through one of those opportunities. And, through the other opportunity, we will reach out to people in the city of Montreal, Quebec. SATURDAY, MAY 30SERVING OUR COMMUNITY From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., we will serve our community in two ways. 1) Some of us will take bags of home-baked goodies to local business- es and services. As we visit those businesses, we will ask for specific ways we can pray for them, and we will ask for ways in which we can serve them in the future. 2) The rest of us will spend the afternoon in Cherokee Park, distrib- uting cold bottled water to our neighbors and praying for people as we have the opportunity. Beginning this Sunday, there will be a way for you to sign up to be a part of this afternoon of service in one or more ways. Baking goodies, packaging them, delivering them, and handing out water are ways that all of us can be involved in this day of showing love to our neighbors. Pray that God will use this afternoon for His kingdom. Pray that we will have numerous opportunities to pray for people and speak the gospel of Gods grace. Sign up to serve and be a part of this event. JUNE 10 through 15BETHANY MISSION TEAM TO MONTREAL, QUEBEC A team of nine Bethany members (plus one Bethany baby) will be traveling to Montreal to work alongside Aaron and Samantha Boswell. As I have shared with you before, Montreal is one of the most multiethnic cities in North Amer- ica and one of the least reached with the gos- pel. The gospel need there is so great. The Bos- wells are planting a church in the Little Burgun- dy area of that city, and we have partnered with them through prayer for some time. Last fall, Jeff Lane and I traveled there to hear from the Boswells and the North American Mission Board about the work being done. Now, Jeff is leading this team from Bethany to engage the residents of Little Burgundy, serve them with our hands, and serve them with the gospel. The rest of the team consists of the Craft family, Emily Dawson, Bethany Herrmann, and the Vickery family. The members of this team are sending let- ters to family and friends outside of Bethany, asking for prayer and financial support. We are hearing back from many of them with generous gifts and prayer commit- ments. We are so very grateful for these partners in the gospel. That said, this is a Bethany team being sent out. So, we cer- tainly want to ensure that Bethany mem- bers are supporting the effort through faithful prayer and faithful giving. Pray for this team; Aaron and Samantha Bos- well; and the people of Little Burgun- dy. Pray that God will use this trip to encourage His workers in the field, and to further His kingdom. Please give financial support toward sending this team by simply writing Montreal Mission Tripon the memo line of your check or on your envelope. Thank you for your prayerful partici- pation in both these outreach events. Every single one of us can be involved in both these opportunities—sending and going to our neighbors and the nations. May God bless us and mightily use us for His glory as we strive together to fulfill our purpose . . . to worship God as we grow as disciples of Jesus Christ, who live on mission in all the world.
