High School Transition

“As students progress from elementary school to second-

ary school, important personal student information is

shared which eases each student’s transition to secondary

school. Sharing this information also improves our ability to

program effectively to benefit all students. Select student

information will be shared at different times as appropriate.

The collection and use of personal student information for

such purposes is authorized under sections 170, 171, 190

Part X and Part XIII of the Education Act. Please note that

all information used for the transition process is limited,

secure and protected at all times. Please contact Anita

Simpson, Superintendent of Education for this area, if you

Intermediate Boys Basketball

It was a great season for the Intermediate Boys’ basketball

team. Everyone played hard and had lots of fun. They

learned new skills and put in great effort in the games.

Great job to all of the players; Zachary C., Gavin E., Julius

H., Tristan I., Adam K., Kristopher K. Theron L., Pierson

M., Frankie M., Alex P., and Jacob R.. Your coaches are

very proud of you. Special thanks to Mr. Hodgins, Ms. Ox-

ley and especially Mr. Michalski for coming in during his

own time to coach.

Intermediate Girls Volleyball

This season has come to an end, and what a fabulous sea-son it was! The girls played incredibly well together as a team, always encouraging each other and helping where needed, which paid off in the end. The beginning of our season saw some losses, but that just made the girls work harder. In the end, at our Zones tournament the girls only lost one game putting them in second place for our zone! This also meant that the girls got to move onto Regionals against the top teams. They played incredibly well as a team at the Regional tournament, Congratulations girls on a very successful season, your coaches are overwhelming-ly proud of each of you!!

Ms. Skippen and Mrs. Mullan

New Safe Schools tool to report bullying, drug use or

vandalism

The SCDSB has developed a new online Safe Schools

Reporting Tool, which is available on our school website

homepage, http://oak.scdsb.on.ca, as a Quick Access but-

ton. Students and parents can use this tool to submit a

report online if they witness a student engaged in inappro-

priate behaviour such as bullying, drug use or vandalism.

Students are still encouraged to speak to a trusted adult at

school or home if they have any concerns. This form isn’t a

substitute for having a discussion with your teacher or prin-

cipal. Student safety and well-being is always our top prior-

ity. For more information please contact the school or visit

http://scdsb.on.ca/ReportAnIncident.
