Project overview
The Garden Apartments and Shops strikes a careful balance between restoring the historic buildings along Federal and West North and creating the new apartment building stepped back from the tree-lined streets.
The street level buildings include numerous ground floor storefronts with individual historic stoops as well as an accessible gallery route so everyone can reach the small businesses housed within The Garden Shops. Ground floor apartment amenities overlook a newly created courtyard that serves The Garden Apartments as well as the former Garden Theater and the Bradberry Apartment building all of which will undergo historic restoration.
The Garden Apartments features include common lobby and gathering space, a fitness center, dog washing, and indoor bicycle parking facilities. Elevators provide access to all the upper floor apartment levels.
The upper floor apartments include garden terraces atop the historic street level buildings. Apartment units have large windows to enjoy the wonderful views and activate this long-vacant corner. The top floor of The Garden Apartments features a central rooftop terrace for apartment residents and guests to enjoy the greenery of Allegheny Commons.
