Calamus Bring New Life to Old Machines with Linux and Open Source Software Room Doug Bertelsen, Gretna Public Schools

Terminals connected to a mainframe dominated the early days of computing. As computers become more common, falling prices of desktop computers resulted in a model where installing many independent workstations dominated. It is possible to breathe new life into outdated, low-cost hardware with the Linux operating system and Open Source Software.
