Welcome to the 20th Annual Tools of the Trade Bull and Select Female Sale! It is an absolute honour to present the best, most uniform, quality set of bulls we have ever raised. I know, a bold statement. But a true one. We could simply not be more pleased with our offering and we certainly hope you share our enthusiasm for it! The red and black bulls are right for the times – stout, hairy, easy doing with maternal strength built in.There are bulls that will add pounds while maintaining calving ease and bulls that will help ensure heifers calve easily to produce a thriving, useful calf. If you are in this for the long haul, these bulls will also produce daughters that will become reliable, top producers.

The heifer offering is again a special one. Not a single one of these heifers could not be kept in our own herd. We are proud of our cow herd and very pleased to offer some of their daughters to you.

2015 marks the 20th Anniversary of the Tools of the Trade Bull Sale! Another feat accomplished for the Willms family, a highly successful seedstock Red and Black Angus seedstock operation. This multi generational family has roots that are deeply planted and with another generation up and coming, there is no change in sight for this hardworking crew in which all hands are on deck performing the daily tasks. Their passion is fueled by their respect for the Angus breed and what it has provided for them over the decades and in turn has provided their loyal following commercial customer base in their success. Here we have a deep bodied, moderate framed Wilbar Eastwood 200X daughter out of a fi rst calf Capacity heifer. Eastwood was our high selling bull in 2011 to Anderson Cattle Co., SK and Thomason Angus, SK. His daughters in all three herds are impressive. They are big bodied with an abundance of style and perfect udders. The combination of Eastwood and Capacity will make an excellent maternal female.

A Tigershark daughter topped our black heifers last year going to BAR-E-L Angus, AB. Wilbar Erica 503B follows along the same lines in terms of broodiness and power but still maintains a feminine look. Her dam is a beautiful uddered Trade Secret 3 year old that is one of our favorites. The maternal grand dam is a picture perfect GDAR Game Day daughter purchased from Breed Creek Angus, SK.

Here is a daughter of the 2013 Agribition Champion HF Smokin Aces 105Y. We have a handful of Aces calves and have to say he worked well on every cow that calved to him. The Celebrity cow family consistently produces cattle at the top end of the replacement pen with 513B being no acception. She has a correct and fault free makeup that will catch your attention sale day.

After calving our fi rst Patron daughters I have to say it was a tough decision letting this one go for sale. They are some of our top 2013 models. They all possess a great deal of body, have great feet and lots of hair. The udder quality rivals any other sire group in the herd. The dam Lucy 403S is an Elite Dam indexing 110 on 7 calves. She has produced sons selling to Bill Seib, SK; PFRA and a daughter to Carpenter Cattle Co., SK. Wilbar Lucy 516B will be a sale feature.

Here is a heifer that will stand out sale day. She is one of two Unforgiven daughters selling. We no longer have Unforgiven and our semen supply is limited so take advantage of these genetics. Some of our top producing cows are daughters of him. This heifer indexed 107 at weaning and has a sister that sold last year to V over F Ranch, SK and a paternal sister that sold to Gilchrist Farms, ON.

The Trade Secret x Advantage mating has worked well for us with Wilbar Celebrity 536B being a perfect example. She has excellent capacity and width of top which will certainly make her a great cow in the future. We have 2 maternal sisters working in our herd including the dam of the 513B sale heifer. Sons of 535S have sold to Blake Wilson, SK; PFRA, and Lost River Farming.

Our oldest Unforgiven daughters are only 5 years old and already have produced the high selling bulls in our last 2 bull sales. A big accomplishment in a herd of 300 cows. Wilbar Atalanta 536B is a standout in the heifer pen for sure. She indexed 107 at weaning. Her dam is out of the Wilbar Serengetti 101W bull who is a maternal brother to the dam of the great HF Kodiak 5R.

Wilbar Ruby 592B is bred with longevity in mind. Her grand dam 700M is 14 years old and still in the herd, she has had our second high selling bull twice in the last 5 years and is one of our embryo donor cows. 592B’s great grand dam is also still in the herd and has a bull in the sale (543B). Wilbar Ruby 313K was one of the fi rst females to calve this spring. She is 16 years old and still has one of the nicest udders in the herd. This ultra feminine female is also a paternal sister the the 2014 Reserve National Champion Bull, Wilbar Capacity 99Z and comes from the same cow family as HF Kodiak 5R.

Mark this deep bodied, brood cow candidate. She is a maternal sister to one of our past high selling bulls Wilbar Titleist 600T. The Trade Secret daughters give you the same type of muscle as his sons but with a feminine fl air. Although she is only a March 24th heifer 620B indexed 112 at weaning indicating she has some performance to offer. Two maternal brothers have sold to Cam Foulston, SK.

We feel this March 25th and youngest black heifer in the sale has lots of potential as a replacement female. 347B Another member of the prolifi c Bayberry cow family and out of our latest out cross sire, Off Topic. Sadly, Off Topic was lost due to an injury last summer, so this will be the only daughter for sale. 347B’s dam is a full sister to the dam of 310B.

An Over the Top daughter out of the dam of one of our best cows (603S). 432P is no slouch either with two sons at Red Eagle Land & Cattle (SK), PFRA and another daughter in our herd. Again, the strength of the cow family can be counted on here.

This attractive, cherry red heifer is the sister of a past high selling bull to Wildcat Creek (KS). The addition of Twilight to the bottom side of her pedigree and Net Worth on the top side create an interesting outcross. I really like the overall style and shape of 390B.

This late March heifer goes back to a full sib of Supreme Champion Bull “Longitude”. Her sire, 385X, is in the top 4% of the breed for milk and his milking daughters have perfect udders. She’s bound to be a beauty!

TERMS...The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location.The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION...Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Angus Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

HEALTH...All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements.

GUARANTEE...Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Angus Association with regard to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness.

LIABILITIES...All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The sellers, facility owner,auctioneer and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur.

DELIVERY...Every assistance will be given in getting your purchases home. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.

PHONE, MAIL, WIRE BIDS...Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone, wire or mail their bids and instructions to the sale manager, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.

INSURANCE...Agents will be in attendance to insure your purchases. We strongly recommend that insurance is purchased for full value.

ERRORS...All announcements at sale time, written or oral, supercede any written material in the catalogue.

SEMEN COLLECTION...We reserve the right to draw semen from any bull in the sale at our expense and the buyer’s convienence for in herd use only.
