Preventive Maintenance
Service an equipment and or a facility by
providing systematic inspection, detection
and correction of failures either before they
occur or before any major defects.
Service includes, taking measurements,
replace parts, perform some tests to
prevent failure.
Preventive maintenance is based on
recurrence patter and can be different for
each equipment (planned: fy2014)
Recurrence can either be a time, meter and
seasonal dates (planned: fy2014)

Time Based: every month, 6th month and 12th month.
Meter Based
– Continuous meter: every 3000 miles, 10,000 miles etc..,
– Gauge meter: high / low range.
Meter & Time Based: every 6 months or 3000 miles.
Seasonal Dates: Do not maintain from Nov - Jan
Rollover and Resetting meters
Average consumption based on sliding scale

Recurrence Patter and the appropriate
frequency, meters and job plans can be
associated to an equipment via Preventive
Maintenance Book or PM Book
PM Book maintains all the information
needed to create Work Orders.

A Work Order can be either a Preventive
Work Order or a Corrective Work Order.
