CHORAL SERVICES

Services are normally sung by King’s College Choir fromTuesdays to Sundays and on Mondays by King’s Voices, theCollege’s mixed voice choir. Any exceptions are listed.

ORGAN RECITALS

Each Saturday during term time there is an organ recital at 6.30 pm until 7.15 pm. Admission is free, and there is a retiringcollection. Amongst visiting recitalists this term is JohannesGeffert, who will be working with the Cambridge UniversityOrgan Scholars’ Forum.

HOLY WEEK AND EASTER SERVICES

This year sees the second festival of music for Holy Week andEaster, in which a series of concerts complements the traditionalservices. Details of the concerts and how to book tickets appearlater in this booklet.

MUSIC

The 250th anniversary of the birth of Mozart on 27 January 1791 ismarked by the singing of his Missa brevis K194 at the SungEucharist on 29 January, by the performance of some of his organmusic in Stephen Cleobury’s recital on 11 February, and, later, inan all Mozart concert on Easter Eve, 15 April, as part of the EasterFestival.

On 5 December 2005 the Choir gave the première of ‘Heart ofJesu’ by Robin Walker, commissioned to celebrate the 10th Seriesof International Concerts at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester,to which the choir is a regular contributor. This anthem can beheard again at Evensong on 21 January.

Sir David Willcocks, Hon. Fellow and formerly Organ Scholarand Director of Music, will conduct the choir at the services on25 and 26 February.
