College Shop2022 Uniform Size Guide

OUR COLLEGE UNIFORM Mount St Benedict College developed a uniform policy with our P&F Association. We ask our students to maintain a professional standard of dress and grooming that shows pride in themselves and the College. The College uniform is to be worn throughout the school day and while travelling to and from the College.

In Terms One and Four, the Summer College Uniform is worn. In Terms Two and Three, the Winter College Uniform is worn. The College Blazer is compulsory in Terms Two and Three.

We ask that on the days that the student has their sport lesson/s, they come to school in their normal summer/winter school uniform and then change into their sport uniform at school when required.

The complete school uniform is available for purchase at the College Shop (except for shoes) or online from our Flexischools website: www.flexischools.com.au When you are prompted to choose a collection date please choose the next available date. This date will NOT be your collection day. We will contact you to arrange a suitable time to collect your order.

For details of all items and prices, please refer to the attached price list, which can also be found on the College website. Please note: some prices may vary during the year because of increased wholesale costs.

COLLEGE SHOP LOCATION AND HOURS Tuesday - Thursday 8:00am - 4:00pm (closed between 12:00-12:30)Students are allowed to shop before school, recess, lunch and after school. The College Shop is conveniently located next to the Hall Courtyard. Please note: due to the current health orders, the College Shop is currently closed for onsite visits and all orders must be made online.

PAYMENTS AND REFUNDS Payments accepted at the College Shop are MasterCard, Visa, AMEX and EFTPOS. Due to the current health situation we are unable to take cash payments.

Refunds and exchanges are available for items returned within three (3) months, unworn, with tags attached and packaging intact. For hygiene reasons, we are unable to refund or exchange tights or hats, including swim caps.

LOST PROPERTY Please remember that all uniform items must be labelled clearly with your child’s name. Should your child lose their uniform, lost property is located outside Student Services. Please also refer to the Orientation Handbook - if items are labelled, students receive an email advising them that their property has been found. Unlabelled items are placed on the Lost Property table outside of Student Services.

NOTE: At the moment, students are permitted to wear the College pants all year round. We are looking to introduce a summer pant in Term Four 2023, which will need to be worn during the summer terms. The current College pant will then become a winter pant and will only be allowed to be worn during the winter terms with the winter blouse.

CHECKLIST OF ITEMS

School uniforms have their own sizings which rarely corresponds with retail sizes. Below is a guide for the sizes of each uniform item. Please note that this is a guide. When you receive your order, please ensure all items are tried on to check they are comfortable. If any items need to be exchanged please email the College Shop. All items being returned will need to be returned in new condition, with tags attached and in packaging. Any items that have been washed or had names written on them will not be accepted for return. On the charts below you will find the conversion from MSB (Mount St Benedict) sizes to retail sizes. We have tried to be as accurate as we can, and encourage you to please ensure all items have been tried on at home. When ordering you will be asked to order in the MSB sizes. As shown in the table, jumpers (due to their stretch) can be two retails sizes. If in doubt please opt for the larger size to give more growing room. This year we introduced an additional style sport short. The current style is still available, and there will be a crossover period of both styles being worn. Subject to which size you purchase, you will either receive the current or introduced style. Both styles can be worn for the entire time that your daughter is at Mount St Benedict College. There will be 50% of the year in the current style short and 50% in the introduced style. The only difference is that the introduced style have a built-in bike short and a small pocket with a zip.

College Junior Summer DressWhen you place your order you will see two options for the College dresses: the regular size has a large hem; the long option means that the dress has two inches added to the hem - the long size is only recommended for tall girls.

The College hat is compulsory in Terms One and Four.

Determining your hat size

• Using a tape measure, place it around the widest part of your head, approximately one inch above your eyebrows.

• The tape measure should go around where the hat should sit. • Repeat the procedure a few times to ensure that your measurements are accurate. • If your head size fits in between sizes, choose the larger size.• It’s also helpful to place your daughter’s hair in the style she would prefer, so the hat will fit

Frequently Asked QuestionsAre parents allowed onsite or in the College Shop? Due to the current health restrictions, parents are not permitted onsite or into the College Shop.

Should I order online? Yes, the College has partnered with Flexischools - please refer to their website for more information and to set-up an account: https://www.flexischools.com.au/support.

If I place an order online where does my daughter collect it? When you are prompted to choose a collection date please choose the next available date. This date will NOT be your collection day. We will contact you to arrange a suitable time to collect your order.

Is my daughter allowed to shop on her own? Yes, we encourage the students to shop independently. Once all items have been purchased please make sure that you see your daughter physically in her uniform.

What is your exchange/refund policy?We are happy to exchange/refund items where they are in new condition and with the tags attached where possible. For hygiene reasons, we are unable to refund or exchange tights or hats (including swim caps). When you receive your order, please ensure all items are tried on to check they are comfortable. If any items need to be exchanged, please email the College Shop and we will arrange a time for you to exchange the item/s.

Where do I purchase cocurricular items? Cocurricular uniforms can be purchased through the College Shop or online through Flexischools.

Is the College blazer worn all year round? Yes. The College blazer is needed in Term One as required at formal occasions. The College blazer is compulsory in Terms Two and Three and it is worn for any formal occasions through the year.

Is the College hat to be worn all year round? The College hat is compulsory in Terms One and Four.

Do you sell second-hand items? Second-hand items can be purchased through the Sustainable School Shop or through The Uniform Exchange Shop in Pymble.

Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat length should my daughter’s uniform be? All hems for dresses and kilts should reach the top of the knee. All pants are to be hemmed at full length, and are not to drag on the ground or be rolled up.

When can I order the winter uniform?The College will advise all families when the winter uniform items will be available. We anticipate this will be in early Term One 2022.

Does the College have a senior uniform? Yes, from Year 10 onwards the students wear the senior uniform. In summer this comprises of a senior blouse and senior skirt. In winter the senior students wear the same kilt as the juniors, but their blouse changes to the senior blouse. The blazer remains the same apart from the buttons: the seniors change to gold buttons which can be purchased from the College Shop.

Are the College school and sports sock compulsory? Yes.

Can my daughter bring in her own backpack/sports bag? No, both the backpack and sports bag (choice of two sports bag designs) are compulsory.

Can my daughter wear her College jumper to school? Yes, however, the jumper must be worn under the College blazer when travelling to and from school.

What school shoes does my daughter need to wear? Black, leather (not suede), lace-up, flat-heeled shoes with no coloured stitching (straps or buckled shoes are not permitted).

In winter can my daughter wear her own black tights? Yes. Tights are to be 70, 80 or 100 denier only.

When do you change over uniform from summer to winter and vice versa? The change into winter uniform is at the commencement of Term Two, and the summer uniform change is at the beginning of Term Four. The College allows students to change-over two weeks at the commencement of Term Two (for winter uniform) and Term Four (for summer uniform) to allow for the change in weather.

Is the tracksuit compulsory? Yes.

Can my daughter wear the College pants all year round? At the moment, students are permitted to wear the College pants all year round. We are looking at introducing a summer pant in Term Four 2023 which would be worn during the summer terms. Where is Lost Property located?Lost Property is located outside Student Services, near the College Reception.

Does my daughter wear her sports uniform to school on the day she has sport? No. All students are to bring their sports uniform in their sports bag and get changed in and out of it at school. If there is an occasion when the students are required to wear their sports uniform for the whole day (such as specific excursions), they will be notified by their teachers.

My daughter has long hair, does she need it tied back? Yes. All hair that is long enough to be tied back must be secured by elastics (black for darker hair and lighter coloured elastics for lighter hair). The only ribbon allowed is the College ribbon.

Student Uniform PolicyJewellery and Makeup• Jewellery is not permitted with the following exceptions:

- Wristwatch.- A small cross on a chain.- One plain sleeper or stud per earlobe.

• Make-up and nail polish are not permitted.

Hair• Hair is to be a single colour.• Long hair is to be tied back and kept neat.

Shoes• Black, leather (not suede), lace-up, flat-heeled shoes with no coloured stitching (straps or buckled shoes are not permitted). • The combined height of the heel and sole is not to exceed 3cm. These are WHS requirements.• Shoes should be polished at all times.

The uniform is to be clean, neat, in good repair and labelled with student’s name. The College badge and House badge are to be worn with the uniform.
