Please note: • Forms received after 21st August, will be treated as late and the student’s

subject selections will be initially removed from the “Timetabler” import process.

• Every effort is made to assign student preferences in each semester.

Enrolment in your subject choices is conditional upon class sizes, staff expertise and available facilities.

• Year 11 students are given preference to Unit 1 & 2 VCE and VET units, so a

Year 10 student’s enrolment at this level is dependent upon class numbers.


• The College timetable is designed based on initial student choices. It should not be assumed that changes to a student’s subject selection can be made later, as limitations may exist in the timetable.

How on earth do you sort through the large number of careers that are open to you to choose the right pathway? Of course, you’ll have some ideas yourself and your parents will have suggestions too. As we have such a vast variety of subjects on offer, we have positioned Learning Area Leaders within our College to ensure the smooth running and efficient delivery of the curriculum across all year levels. Our Learning Area Leaders are there to assist our classroom teachers in the development of best teaching practices and implementation of programs that improve student performance and learning outcomes. Our Leaders, along with our classroom teachers are there to help guide students to become the best they can be.

Wellbeing Support

The wellbeing of our students is a priority and we work proactively to develop, maintain and encourage a caring and orderly learning environment for our students. The welfare of students in our care is the responsibility of all teachers as we know that good emotional health correlates powerfully with strong academic development. At Lavalla Catholic College we have Wellbeing & House Leaders in place to guide your child through their learning journey.

The role of the House Leader / Wellbeing Leader is to lead Student Wellbeing, general and specific areas of pastoral care, liaise with parents as well as maintain discipline and College expectations within the House. The role of the House Leader / Wellbeing Leader is to ensure the well-being of each student within the House and that each is catered for in keeping with the vision and mission of the College. This includes the necessary support and initiatives to enable each student to develop a sense of identity and personal worth and to contribute to the overall good of the community.
