Dr. Upham received his MD degree from the University of New Mexico SOM followed by a

Masters of Science degree in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He

completed a residency in Pediatrics at the University of Utah and a fellowship in Pediatric

Emergency Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

EVMS Faculty Affairs and Professional Development is soliciting proposals for Professional Enrichment and Growth Grants for the 2021-2022 academic year. PEG grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to faculty members who wish to engage in an activity that will help achieve their professional goals as well as advance the academic missions of the department and the institution. The activity must be supported by the applicant’s department chair and should lead toward advancement in academic rank or, in the case of full professors, support professional development in their area of expertise.
