Get well soon

Mrs. Surinder Kaur, mother of President Amarjit Singh is undergoing treatment at IVY Hospital, Mohali. We wish her a very speedy recovery and sound health.

“ I was moved during QA to hear the brave lady speak kind words as did the ex President (PP R.T.P.S. Tulsi) and very learned Sikh Rotarian who summed up and spoke far better than I did about why Kashmir was important; on respect to women and Guru Nanak's thoughts on respecting womanhood in Nirbhaya land.”

“A delightful two hours thanks to Dr Gupta, Dr V.J.S. Vohra who sent the pics, everyone of Rotary Midtown really. The last t ime I spoke to Rotary was in Dharamsala in 2006 (On AIDS and young peop le) and I remembered that after I had half driven home.”

Maj. Gen. Raj Mehta summed up his interaction with Rotarians, “ was special, very special. The pics of the Rotarians show that clearly. ”

Crossing the targets, and still moving ahead…!

Rtn. Salil Chopra reports that he has crossed the target of 70 projects assigned to him by President Amarjit Singh. The break up is: Swachhta cum water saving campaign – 37, Child development under RILM – 32 and Beti Bachao, Beti Padao - 02. Grand Total – 71, and still moving ahead…! During last week Interactors were involved to carry out 2 campaigns, 1st one at railway station and 2nd one at ISBT, Sector 17. The passengers in the train and in the bus, and at the platform were given the message of keeping their places clean, saving water and disposing the garbage in the bins, for which there was good public response. The canteen and kiosk owners were requested to advice their customers not to litter but dispose the garbage in the bin only, as this would protect us from many diseases.

Four courses were held for classes 10th, 9th, 8th and 7th on personal hygiene, goal settings, moral values and Swachhta at Govt. Model High School, Sector 30, Chandigarh. Rtn. R.K. Jain also assisted Rtn. Salil Chopra in conducting the program. Another program was at Govt. Model High School in Manimajra for students of classes 8th and 9th on goal settings. Rtn. Renu Chopra did very well to give a useful talk to students as a motivational speaker.
