Serious About Spa
There are a lot of shows in the spa market. There are tradeshows, tradeshows with conferences, wellness conferences, spa speed dating, spa business conferences,
medical spa tradeshows and conferences, cruise ship mixers and much, much more. It is no wonder I am often approached by attendees and exhibitors alike and asked, what makes Face & Body different? In short, it is because we are serious about spa education.
As you may know, Face & Body Spa Expo & Conference is an event powered by Skin Inc., so to explain how Face & Body is different, I have to first give some background on Skin Inc.
We were founded as a spa industry publication in 1988 after we continued to see the job description “esthetician” on the subscription cards to our sister cosmetic formulation and chemistry publication Cosmetics & Toiletries. It became clear that estheticians weren’t getting chemistry and biology education in school, so Skin Inc. was founded to provide that knowledge along with critical business education. Although we had a publication that spa professionals loved, this being a personable and tactile industry, we soon realized that we needed a companion event. In 1993, the first Face & Body was hosted, where attendees could get that same great education and network with like-minded professionals in person.
In the nearly 30 years since, there have been some major changes in the spa industry. The way we do business has changed, technology has evolved and treatments have become more sophisticated. During these changes, Skin Inc. and Face & Body have adapted a number of things to grow with the industry, yet our core has never wavered.
There is a lot of competition in the spa industry today, and to succeed, spa managers, estheticians, owners and wellness practitioners need to be invested. They need to be dedicated to a continued pursuit of knowledge.
We are dedicated to providing spa industry professionals with the opportunities and education that truly grow their business. We partner with businesses that are with us in this mission, that care about the success of this industry. Our education is strong, our mission is clear and we are serious about spa.
