Vortex/Semi Vortex Impeller

This impeller allows passage of large or stringy solids carried in the water. It accelerates the water causing a vortex that assists the smooth transit of the solids in suspension.

Open-type Impeller

The semi-open impeller blade rotates about 0.5 mm above the wear plate and clears itself if solids settle.

Closed (Shrouded) Impeller

Produces high heads but has a limited ability to pass solids in suspension

Cutter Impeller

A “cutter mechanism” combines the action of a carbide blade, integrated into a single vane impeller, rotating against the serrated inner surface of a suction cover.

Channel Impeller

An impeller used in centrifugal pumps which allows passage of solids in the pumped liquid.

Single Channel impeller

Impeller passes large diameter foreign matter relative to the size of the discharge port.

Grinder Impeller

The grinder mechanism is made from hi chrome iron and is highly resistant to abrasion. Solids entering the pump are chopped into tiny pieces that then pass out through small diameter discharge pipes.

The LB series are single-phase, lightweight and compact dewatering pumps. Their compact design makes them easy to handle, simple to set up and they even fit into an 8" casing. These pumps are the top selling Tsurumi submersibles in North America and hire industry favourites.

The semi-vortex impeller maintains pump performance even when worn. The discharge port can be set vertically or horizontally to minimise folding or bending of the connected hose.

The HS series are single-phase, portable dewatering submersible pumps. They have a spiral pump casing that allows sand and silt-laden water to pass easily through the pump.

The LSC pump is a portable, single-phase residue

dewatering pump. Tsurumi’s unique sealing device makes

the pump capable of pumping down to floor level.

The rubber-lined base plate prevents scratching to floor

surface and the discharge direction is selectable between

vertical and horizontal. This prevents folding or bending of

the discharge hose.

The KTV series are compact, three-phase dewatering pumps. Made from aluminium and synthetic rubber, these are the lightest in Tsurumi’s 3-phase, dewatering pump range.

The semi-vortex impeller minimizes blockages. The strainer is easily removed for access during maintenance.

AUTO VERSION … NO FLOATS

The KTVE series are equipped with electrode control sensors for automatic operation.

Pump operation starts when the water level rises and contacts the electrode. A timer function eliminates excessive activations caused by agitated water. The pump will operate for a further minute after the water-electrode contact is lost.

The electrode relay eliminates dry-running, reduces power consumption and extends operating life.

SLURRY VERSION With all the features of the standard KTV series, these lightweight, portable slurry pumps are equipped with a cast iron agitators that ensure smooth suction of the settled matters.

The impeller is made of high-chromium cast iron for extra durability.

Pump operation starts when the water level rises and contacts the electrode. A timer function eliminates excessive activations caused by agitated water. The pump will operate for a further minute after the water-electrode contact is lost.

The electrode eliminates dry-running, reduces power consumption and extends operating life.

SLURRY VERSION … KTD SERIES The KTD series are cast iron, heavy duty slurry pumps based on the KTZ series. An agitator assists the smooth of suction solids in suspension.

Selected Tsurumi standard pumps can be fitted with a seawater-resistant kit to extend pump life in salt water applications.

The kit includes sacrificial anodes and a special chromium cast iron impeller.

The kit is easy to fit using standard tools.

NB : For a seawater pump add the price of the kit to the price of the pump

Seawater Resistant Impeller

The impeller is manufactured from a specially treated chromium cast iron. The impeller is 10 times more resistant to corrosive wear than one made of conventional cast iron.

The PU series is one of the Tsurumi VANCS-series. Made of stainless steel and FRP resin, the pumps are lightweight and corrosion-resistant. The vortex impellers and large passages allow compressible solids in suspension to pass through.

Automatic and alternating versions can be used together to set up simple dual pump systems without the need for control boxes.

2.1.1 PU SERIES … VANCS-SERIES

Primary Operations Secondary Operations

1. ‘START’ Float 3 activates pump W to discharge water.

1. ‘START’ Float 4 activates pump A to discharge water.

2. Water level falls 2. Water level falls

3. ‘STOP’ float 2 stops pump W. ’START’ float 3 of pump W rests for one discharge operation.

3. ‘STOP’ float 1 stops pump A. ‘START’ float 3 of pump W has reset, ready for operation next cycle.

A simple dual pump system can be set using an automatic and alternating pump. No complicated, external control panel is required. Simply connect power to each pump. By adjusting the float levels the pumps can be set to run alternately. If extra capacity is required, both pumps will automatically work together.

The alternating model has three floats and can be identified by the suffix ’W’ in the model name. They are available in the same output range as the automatic pumps.

If the inflow exceeds the ability of the operating pump, the top float on the second pump will activate ensuring maximum pumping capacity.

The C series of sewage pumps incorporate a channel impeller with cutter mechanism. A sintered tungsten carbide alloy tip is brazed on the impeller vane and rotates against the serrated edge of the suction cover. This mechanism cuts fibrous matter that flows into the pump with ease.

Guide rail option

The NHC series of sewage pumps incorporate a channel impeller with cutter mechanism.

Two tungsten carbide alloy edges are brazed on the impeller vane. These slice against the serrated edge of the suction cover. This mechanism chops oversized fibrous matter that flows into the pump with ease.

2.3.8 MG SERIES

The MG series has a hi chrome grinding mechanism in its suction port that chops incoming solids into small pieces. This enables the pump to transfer sewage via a small diameter pipe without the fear of clogging.

3.1.3 RSR-KS Series … rotary air blower

The RSR series are rotary air blowers with a three-blade spur rotor.

This rotor is designed for corrosion resistance, heat resistance and durability as well as low noise, low vibration, ease of maintenance and high efficiency. It provides stable performance, and ensures smooth operation of the blower over a long period of time.

The RSR-KS series comprises of air-cooled (discharge bore diameter: 50 to 300 mm) and water-cooled blowers (discharge bore diameter: 80 to 350 mm). Whether used under low pressure (0.6 kg/cm2

or less) or high pressure (0.6 to 0.8 kg/cm2), the appropriate model can be selected according to application. Use at 0.8 kg/cm2 or higher pressure is available as a special specification.

The RSR-KS series is suited for various applications, such as for aeration at wastewater treatment facilities, agitation of wastewater and sewage, decomposition and scum prevention, and oxygen supply at fish farms.

PNEUMATIC CONVEYANCE

The Selection Chart indicates the relationships between blower model, bores, revolutions, discharge pressures, actual air flow rates, and the shaft powers.

1. The amount of air indicated in the Selection Chart represents the suction amount under the following standard conditions:

temperature 20°C

absolute pressure 101.3kPa

relative humidity 70%.

2. The amount of air under reference conditions (0°C, absolute pressure 101.3kPa, dry) can be converted to amounts of air under standard suction conditions by the formula below if the suction pressures are the same:

Qs = Qn × 273 + ts 273 where

Qs, amount of air (m3/min) under standard suction conditions indicated on the Selection Chart;

Qn, amount of air (m3/min) under reference suction conditions; Suction pressure is ambient pressure, 101.3kPa;

ts, suction temperature in °C

3. To convert amounts of air under discharge conditions to amounts of air under standard suction conditions indicated on the Selection Chart, use the following formula:

Qs = Qd × 101.3 + Pd x 273 + ts 101.3 273 + td

Qd, amount of air (m3/min.) under discharge conditions;

Pd, discharge pressure (kPa)

ts, suction temperature in °C

td, discharge temperature in °C

4. Using the amount of air and the necessary discharge pressure obtained from the above calculations, determine your blower model, bore, revolution, and shaft power referring to the Selection Chart.

5. Your selectable range can overlap several models. It is recommended that one with a smaller model number be selected for cost economy, or one with a larger model number be selected for lower noise.

6. For necessary motor output, refer to required power (La) in the Selection Chart.

The KE/KS series are front-type mechanical bar screens. The major parts are 304 stainless steel. These bar screens remove solids from wastewater prior to treatment.

Trapped solids are removed from the screens themselves by rakes moving up between the bars. The solid waste then falls into collection

bins or onto a conveyor installed behind the top of the screen.

The KS series have a roller mechanism that pulls the rake out of the screen bars at the solids releasing point and eliminates the jamming of solids.

All KE & KS screens use 0.1kW motors.

3.2 PRE-TREATMENT EQUIPMENT

KW series are a durable and efficient solution for primary fine screening of wastewater.

Suit installation in channels with depths from 270mm and widths from 300mm. Bar spacing options from 1 - 5mm.

These bar screens remove solids from wastewater prior to treatment. Trapped solids are removed from the screens themselves by rakes moving up between the bars. The solid waste then falls into collection bins or onto a conveyor installed behind the top of the screen.

3.3 SKIMMER PUMP … FSP SERIES

Efficiently collect scum. The unique FSP scum skimmer removes floating oils, grease and solids. The scum is then pumped to collection tanks for processing.

Can be adjusted to any depth below the water surface.

Designed with a jet injector suction mechanism to collect scum efficiently.

The FHP series are decanting pumps with a device for monitoring the sludge surface. The pump ensures that only supernatant liquid is discharged, without any sediment.

NB: A drain line to tank must be run for reversible motors For input flow allow volumetric efficiency of 90%. Output KW figures allow for overall efficiency of 82% Output torque figures allow for mechanical efficiency of 85%. Check hydraulic pump specifications to ensure correct match. If in doubt consult a hydraulic installation engineer.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES

PUMP

The direction of rotation of single-rotation pumps must be the same as that of the drive shaft. Check that the coupling flange correctly aligns the transmission shaft and the pump shaft. Flexible couplings should be used (never rigid fittings) which will not generate an axial or radial load on the pump shaft.

TANK

Tank capacity must be sufficient for the system’s operating conditions ( ~ 3 times the amount of oil in circulation) to avoid overheating of the fluid. A heat exchanger should be installed if necessary. The intake and return lines in the tank must be spaced apart (by inserting a vertical divider) to prevent the return-line oil from being

taken up again immediately.

LINES

The lines must have a major diameter which is at least as large as the diameter of pump or motor ports, and must be perfectly sealed. To reduce loss of power, the lines should be as short as possible, reducing the sources of hydraulic resistance (elbow, throttling, gate valves, etc.) to a minimum. A length of flexible tubing is recommended to reduce the transmission of vibrations. All return lines must end below the minimum oil level, to prevent foaming. Before connecting the lines, remove any plugs and make sure that the lines are perfectly clean.

FILTERS

We recommend filtering the entire system flow. Filters on

suction and return line must be fitted in according to the contamination class as indicated in the first pages of the catalogue.

HYDRAULIC FLUID

Use hydraulic fluid conforming to ISO/DIN standards, having viscosity as specified in the first pages of the catalogue. Avoid using mixtures of different oils which could result in decomposition and reduction of the oil’s lubricating power.

BASIC GUIDE TO FRICTION LOSS

The total head required of the pump is

calculated by adding together the

following

A - suction lift

B - static lift

C* - friction loss in delivery pipe

Add friction loss in suction pipe

if long length used.

Friction loss in fittings …

allow about 5m head for an

average number of fittings

*Use required flow rate at E in figure 1,

pipe diameter and type to determine

head loss per 100 metres of pipe in the

friction loss tables. Multiply head loss

by pipe length then divide by 100 to

get C, friction loss in delivery pipe.

Repeat for suction hose if long hose

length used.

SELF PRIMING PUMPS: Aussie Quik-

Prime pumps are of a self priming

centrifugal design. They have excellent

priming characteristics and don't need

foot valves in order to prime. Almost

all pumps in the range prime to in

excess of 7 metres.

Self priming means that the operator

does not have to fill the entire suction

line before start up. Simply fill the

pump casing with water and start the

pump. The ejection of the water from

the pump body creates a vacuum

which, working in conjunction with

atmospheric pressure, causes water to

be drawn up the suction line.

SUCTION LINE:

• The entire suction line must be air

tight.

• Avoid sharp bends

• Ensure that no part of the suction

line is above pump level to prevent

air locks.

• Always keep suction lift to the

minimum.

• Suction lines must be large enough

to minimise friction loss.

• Ensure strainer is submerged at least

1m

ENGINE RPM

Engines on the Aussie QP range are

rated to 3600 rpm. For continuous

service slow engine revs to 3000 rpm

for better engine/pump life, pump

performance will drop accordingly.

GOLDEN RULE

Operate pump at the best efficiency

point …. 85% of total pump head.

HYDRAULIC SHOCK

Suddenly starting or stopping the water

flow by operating a shut off valve can

cause severe water hammer or

hydraulic shock . This can result in

burst pump casings and pipes and

these are not covered by warranty.

A pressure relief valve is recommended

to assist with pump protection against

pressure spikes, however it is good

practice to close valves slowly to

reduce the risk of hydraulic shock.

4. SUBMERSIBLE PUMP TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

To prevent serious accidents, disconnect the power supply before inspecting the pump.

GENERAL TERMS OF SALE

GENERAL: Aussie Pump’s general terms of sale represent a statement of contracts to supply equipment between Australian Pump Industries Pty Ltd and its customers.

Prices

▪ Prices printed in the Aussie Pumps catalogue are current at date of issue and are subject to change without notice. Prices charged will be those ruling at the date of delivery.

▪ All retail prices quoted are recommendations only. There is no obligation to comply with these recommendations.

▪ The validity of any quote given by Aussie Pumps will be 30 calendar days unless stated otherwise in the quotation. We reserve the right to withdraw quotations in writing before the end of the validity period.

▪ In line with industry standard, minimum order value $50 +GST applies to all customer purchases.

Special Construction Products

▪ Pump sets, pressure cleaners or sprayers, or any other product, not listed as a standard product in the catalogue may be manufactured by Aussie Pumps against specific customer order and specification. These units are not eligible for return under the stock swap program.

▪ It is the purchaser’s responsibility to satisfy itself of the suitability of any special order products being built by Aussie Pumps for the buyer’s purpose based on the information provided by Aussie Pumps in its quotation.

▪ Special orders as described above are irrevocable and not subject to cancellation or deferment.

▪ Warranties applicable to special order products as described above are the same as that which applies to all standard Aussie Pumps product, other than for those items supplied to Aussie Pumps by third parties for which Aussie Pumps will assign the original supplier’s warranty to the buyer of the “special order product”.

Goods Returned Policy

▪ Return of goods for credit will not be accepted without our prior written approval. There is no obligation on the part of Australian Pump to accept goods returned for credit without prior approval. Return authority label must be attached to outside of box. Return is conditional upon the products being returned;

▪ Freight prepaid in unused condition and in original packaging. Obsolete products are not eligible for return.

▪ Products returned for credit must be unsoiled, undamaged, in resalable condition and not more than 12 months old.

▪ All returned products must be accompanied by a copy of the original delivery docket.

▪ A written statement including the original invoice number, the date of purchase and full reasons for the return.

▪ Credit value of the goods returned will be at the absolute discretion of Aussie Pumps and will be limited to the original amount invoiced for that product. A restocking charge, the amount of which shall be at the absolute discretion of Aussie Pumps but will be not less than 25% of the original price of the product, will be applied to cover restock, repackaging, documentation and administration charges.

Incorrectly Supplied, Missing or Damaged Goods

▪ Aussie Pumps must be notified, in writing, within three (3) working days of delivery of any goods incorrectly supplied so that prompt replacement with the correct products can be arranged.

▪ All deliveries should be inspected for missing or damaged goods before the buyer signs for the goods. Missing or damaged goods should be noted on the consignment note. Any claims for missing goods or for products supplied in damaged condition must be reported to Aussie Pumps, in writing, within three (3) working days for the claim to be considered. N.B. Our terms are ex works. Claims for damage in transit will not be considered.

Warranty

▪ All Aussie Pumps products are guaranteed to be free from faulty workmanship or material as detailed in the warranty card supplied with each product and as detailed in the operator’s manual that is supplied with the goods.

▪ All engine warranty claims should be made directly to the service agent for the engine manufacturer and warranty is subject to their terms & conditions.

▪ Federal battery warranty is covered by Ryde Batteries, 1300 133 980. Call to find their nearest nominated agent.

▪ Repairs carried out by Aussie Pumps Service Division on products outside the guarantee period are guaranteed to be free of faulty workmanship or material for a period of three (3) months after the repair.

▪ Warranty is deemed to apply to failures due to faulty workmanship or materials and does not apply to fair wear and tear, improper installation or application, the user’s failure to carry out maintenance, or as a result of the product’s use for purposes for which it was not designed.

▪ Aussie Pumps is not liable for any loss of profit or consequential or indirect special loss arising from defects in any of its products.

▪ Aussie Pumps will not be liable for damage or injury of any kind whatsoever arising directly or indirectly from product defects.

▪ Aussie Pumps’ liability under the terms of the company’s guarantee or warranty is limited to any one of the following:

▪ replacement of the product with a suitable equivalent

▪ repair of the product

▪ return of the product for refund of purchase price

▪ payment for the cost of having the product repaired

▪ supply of replacement services

▪ payment of the cost of having services supplied again

▪ Aussie Pumps reserves the right to choose the lowest cost option of the above.

N.B. All prices are ex works Castle Hill warehouse. If purchaser chooses to use our carrier insurance is purchaser’s responsibility. We do offer freight insurance at 2% of the value of the goods shipped.

DEMONSTRATION/FIELD DAY STOCK - In the event that goods are loaned to a customer for demonstration or display, the customer is responsible for return of the goods in BRAND NEW CONDITION. Any parts, labour or packaging required to put the loaned items back into brand new condition will be charged to the customer at normal rates.

N.B. The customer is deemed to be the person / customer to whom Australian Pump Industries loans the goods.

Due to our program of continuous product development Australian Pump reserves the right to alter specifications without notice.

Note:

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The benefits under the Aussie Pump warranty are in addition to other rights under Australian Consumer Law.
