Each month, we will share with you information related to each goal:

Madison Station’s 4 Major Goals!

Goal 1: Academic Excellence (focusing on a child’s mind)

Report cards will be coming home on October 17. Take some time to review your child’s report

card with him/her. Reflect on the successes they’ve had during the nine weeks and set goals for

the next nine weeks. Remember that academic goals should be based on each child’s individual

needs. Encourage them to share with you their most enjoyable units of study as well as their

most challenging. Talk about routines and organizational techniques that will help them manage

school and all of the other activities in which they are involved.

Goal 2: Arts Integration (focusing on a child’s heart/soul)

We are always looking for opportunities to showcase the arts at Madison Station. On November

1st all of our MSE students will travel to Madison Central High Schools to enjoy their performance

of High School Musical. What a treat for our students to get to see a musical performed by some

of our former Madison Station students!

Goal 3: Fitness and Wellness (focusing on a child’s body)

Read, Study, and Play!

Combine outdoor activity with reading and studying is a great way to increase achievement and

physical activity. Here are suggestions.

Read and Walk Take a book along with you through the neighborhood or download for listening

on a smartphone.

Study and Dribble Encourage your child to add a physical activity to studying. For example, use

chalk to write test questions or math facts. Then they can dribble over each one as they

memorize the answers.

Goal 4: Strong Character Traits (focusing on a child’s character)

Thank you to all who supported our canned food drive. The food drive is such a wonderful

way for our students to get involved in community service and experience the joy that comes

from helping others. Our next community service project at Madison Station will be coming in

early December and will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
