The home was built in approximately 1902 and features five guest rooms. Achievements Waste Reduction: The Inn sends less than one 40-gallon container of waste to the landfill every 4-6 weeks and recycles and composts all other appropriate materials. This is accomplished by using reusable containers, dishware, glassware and cutlery, cloth napkins and tablecloths; purchasing condiments and other items in bulk; and donating used soap to be re-purposed for use in third-world countries. Electric Vehicle (EV) Recharging: The Inn has installed 3 EV charging stations and makes them available to both the general public as well as to guests of the Inn. Information about the charging stations is communicated to Inn guests prior to their arrival as both a promotional effort and to help educate the public on the benefits of green travel and the ease and convenience of alternative fuel vehicles. The chargers and the property are powered through wind energy renewable energy credits (RECs). Stormwater Management and Landscaping: The Inn uses two rain barrels to capture rainwater and uses it to water plants. BayScaping techniques, including a rain garden, pervious pavement and French drains, are used to to prevent rapid run off of stormwater. 2019 Leadership Award Winner
